Welcome back for another episode of The Sweet Spot brought to you by the Racing Post. I’m Dave Clark. He’s Steve Palmer. How are you, Steve? You still dawning the uh the woolly hat there, my man? You need to get a radiator in that shed of yours. Good morning, Dave. Yes. How are you? How are you? Uh exactly one month until Christmas. Are you aware of that? One month until Christmas. The goose is getting fat. Our wallets are not getting fat. Another frustrating week of of golf betting. So, uh, yeah, we got to show some resilience this week, Dave. We’re digging deep. One tournament to focus on. I think I’ve unearthed some some some gold. Good. Right. Some big prizes as well. I’m very aware it’s a month from Christmas because also my eldest’s 10th birthday today. So, my whole house is pink and green because Wicked is a big deal in my house at the moment. So, nice one. Nice one. Yeah. Yeah. Wicked. All good. All good. Right. If wicked is a big deal in your house, get involved with us here on the sweet spot. jump in the comments below. The comments came alive last week, particularly when Michael Thorj Bjönson uh was threatening to do the dirty deed on us, but more on that very shortly. We want to hear from you. So, get involved. Make sure you smash that notification bell as well, so when we upload, you will know here on the Racing Post YouTube channel. Right, let’s jump straight into it then. Uh let’s start in Saudi Arabia. Okay, we had the Asian Tour event there. It was a good field. Um but a a slightly unknown quantity doing the business and winning Steve. Well a rising star of golf I would say Jose Louie BSA Jose to his friends. He was around the 40 to1 mark. He won the US amateur championship last year. That meant he made his masters deu in April this year. You might remember his his performance there. He disgraced himself by urinating in Ray Creek. Um you know appalling etiquette at the the Cathedral of Pines. He could have played on the corn ferry tour this year but instead bided his time and then joined live golf in June. He became a fireball uh Sergio Gaia’s team. Took a month to settle on live but then he was seventh in Liv UK second in live Chicago and yeah he would have been considered by yeah plenty of people would have backed him last week. He’s a powerhouse wide fairways the course right up his street. We’re talking about one of the longest hitters around here but he’s a coarse Davidson Dave you know I don’t like co Davidson side. I left him out. What a mistake to make a 666 65 6665 threeshot victory. A 22y old with a world at his feet. Once he’s been adequately toilet trained, Dave, I think he could really make a mark on uh really make a mark on the world of golf. Okay. Right. Well, he was uh 22 under par. We had Caleb Surat 19 under. Dean Burmester 17, Richard Bland 16 under. Um the tips uh your man David Pu was uh threatening at one point. Ah the tips were just a tease throughout. I mean Thomas Peters such a promising start from Thomas Peters 6366 in the final group. A shot behind going into the weekend. It was like Nikolai Hogard in the DP World Tour Championship. You know off to a flyer. We’ve gone favorite and then like a balloon going pop. You know, Nikolai Hogard in the third round of the DP World War Tour Championship. Thomas Peters in the third round of the Saudi International a 75 in round three for Peters. Final round. I’ve got something for Thomas Peters. I’ve got something for him. Stay there. Oh, here we go. The crops are out. Yeah, Dave’s having fun as always at my expense. Dave’s having a lot of fun. This is what we’ve got for Thomas Peters. There he is. He’s got a bin. He’s got a bin. He’s going in the bin. Did I see a bottle of whiskey in there? Off the rails. Well, yeah. I mean I mean Yeah. I get a lot of stick for Thomas Peters, Dave, but he has won six DP World Tour titles. If you’re getting stick for players that have won six times, then something’s wrong with the world. We know there’s a lot wrong with the world, Dave. I will never apologize for my love of Thomas Peters, but you’re right. He hadn’t been in contention for a long time and it showed in that in that third round. He made an early six at a par five uh and uh it went downhill from there. And then the opposite tease from David Puge because David Puj slow out the gates. Dave then fires a third round 64. So on the same day Peters is shooting 75. Puja is shooting 64 to get bang in it. Then he’s three under par for his front nine in the final round. You I’m thinking he might win it there. You mentally bank the place money. Then he takes a seven at the 12th hole. Um his back nine comprised eight pars and then a double bogey seven there. So he he dropped from fourth place to 16th place. I was actually in the loft, Dave, when that uh that seven was was carded. And uh yeah, I we’ve been doing a lot of loft work lately, the last two weekends. Heavy on loft work. You storage crisis. You’ll find this as your kids grow up. Yeah. Folding is it all folded out? If you got a modest house, you you come with a storage crisis. And uh you know, when when I noted that seven, I was in the loft, I thought, right, just just pull the hatch back up. pull the pull the loft hatch back up and just spend uh 10 minutes or so reflecting on how difficult the you know how how maddening the golf punting game can be. So yeah, I mean and then then Peter on the third tip just floating around just off the pace all week. You felt he could place like throughout the tournament you felt Peter could place but um he he also finished poorly had three back nine bogeies in in round four. Uh so yeah, good riddance to the Saudi international. But yeah, we for the future we must look at Jose Lui BSA because I think he’s got huge promise. I mean, as I say, his power off the tea is incredible. I saw him sort of mocking his mate David Pooge. Obviously, their teammates, Fireball’s teammates, that’s becoming an all Spanish side um for next season because Abraham is leaving. So Bester was mocking David Pooge about how far David Pooge hits it off the tea, which is is is shows how far Bester is. Puja is a massive hitter, but BST’s got an extra gear on him and I think he’s gonna have a wonderful future. As I say, I don’t like him. I I’ll never forgive him for the sacrilege that we saw at Augusta. I mean, you don’t you don’t go to Augusta and do that. And he laughed it off and I think I thought it was appalling conduct, but he’s got a big future. And Caleb Surat, you glossed over there the runner up. I think, you know, that’s that’s a 21-y old. You got two players here, a 22-y old and a 21 year old who both signed for live straight from great college careers. Um, you know, they wanted the instant bucks. Yeah. Yeah. It’s disappointing. It’s a it’s a character flaw. Turning their back on the traditional route, you know, sod legacy. You know, the these modern youngsters, sod legacy, I just want quick bucks. Give me quick bucks, Dave. Um, you know, it’s it’s quite um unsavory in many ways, but they’re both got huge talent and and and Surat has finished second in the Saudi international last two years. He was on the radar last week but his weekend rounds previous tournament Singapore open 7777. So I think it would have been very difficult to you it was a real leap of faith to back Surat last week. I don’t think many punters would have done but I think some might taken a chance on BSA. Yeah, I do hope the golf landscape changes somewhat drastically soon because I mean I’ve said this to you before. I feel like we we’re robbed of of John Ram a little bit and not seeing him as much as we should mainstream and you’re telling me that these youngsters are the future and they’ve already jumped over to to live and it feels like we’re going to be maybe robbed of them as well. Yeah, we’ll never know what went through John Ram’s head because uh yeah, until he writes his his memoirs in decades to come. Um we can get the full picture, but yeah, I suspect he thought that him going to live would would would make the deal closer. So, he’d bank all the money and then uh the the deal would happen because there was talk of of that. So, I think John Ram thought he would prompt the PGA tour to to settle a deal with the live live guys and bring bring golf back together. I’d like to think Ram thought that was going to happen rather than what has happened um which is bank the money and then you know sort of fade into um you know it’s very hard for John Ram to stay in the picture isn’t it? Yeah that’s what I mean you just feel like we’re we’re robbed of you know watching him in that rider car we won’t dwell on it too much but I just thought like I wish we could watch him on the PGA tour or even the DP world tour every now and again every week it would just be phenomenal. Yeah and there’s frightening talk of John Ram having played his last RDER Cup because they’re going to tighten the rules on that. Yeah, surely that’s just boulder dash. I mean the the European bigs must find a way to keep Ramman Hatton in the in the fold. Um so yeah. Yeah, golfing politics. We don’t want to get bogged down on golfing politics. It’s hard enough getting bogged down on the tips that tease you rotten and force you to have moments of reflection in the loft. Um but um yeah. Yeah, we should put the Saudi international to bed. It was a it was a it was a real tease. I mean, it’s one of those weeks where you sort of rather have backed three players that missed the cut and you can put it to bed, but you you you have three players that have got a chance of placing, you know, throughout the tournament. Um and and and none of them did and and David Pooge was the particularly um disappointing one because he he you know, he was the number one pick. He’s in doubles with uh with players in the other tournament. Um but you know, you could have back Wackam Neman last week. You know, the win machine as we were discussing missed the cut. You could have back Sergio Gaia missed the cut. Taylor Guch missed the cut. Cameron Smith missed the cut. Well, I’ve got a lot of Cameron Smith chat on this uh in this podcast because he’s playing this week in in his homeland. Dustin Johnson missed the cut. So, yeah, lots of big names missed the cut. R3 played all right, but just not not right enough. Right, let’s move on then, shall we? To the RSM Classic. Um, and I think I’m right in saying, Steve, that the winner here could be a a quiz question down the years. Right. The first Finn to win on the PGA Tour, Sammy Valamaki. Yeah, I like I like I like your thinking, Dave. Yeah. Yeah. Not many fins have made their mark. Yeah. The first Finn to win on the PJ tour. I mean, there was some quite disrespectful interviews actually on the I think it was after round three where the American uh Americans were questioning like Finnish sport in general and saying, “Oh, yeah, there’s this sort of shot putter I’ve heard of.” and you and and Sammy Valamaki just took it all on the chin and um and then went out the next day and you know and beat all the Americans. So I was you I was impressed with Samuel Valamaki’s fortitude because I think there was he was getting a little bit um disrespected um when he was uh when he was contending earlier in the week. But yeah, he was the chat like is he the the greatest Finnish sports person ever? What what was the chat? Well, they were asking him how many people are going to be tuning in like because you know obviously golf in Finland not not huge. Sport in Finland I suppose generally not huge. Um I mean it’s always blooming snow in there in it to be fair to I’ve been to Finland. I had a lovely time in Finland. You Lapland is a is a wonderful place but you know it’s very then they have to play with an orange ball in Finland. you you’d have to play with an orange ball that’s um you know about 50 times bigger than than a golf ball because um you know if you hit a proper golf ball there you talking snow that’s like really deep yeah the snow’s higher than you Dave you’d have a lovely time there you could just hide jump in the snow and you you you play hide and seek you’d be gone um but um yeah yeah there’s not many great Finnish sportsmen I suppose um for obvious reasons and yeah but his reaction was because they were asking how many people do you think are going to be watching tomorrow when you’re contending ing for the RSM Classic and and Valamaki by by them is a bit cheesed off with the line of questioning just say I don’t know may maybe a hundred yeah just taking the mick a little bit and um yeah all credit to him all credit to him and all credit to someone any punters out there that took gamles on course debutants I’ve got this issue with course debutants I like to have players that have seen the seen the challenge before and and can and hit the ground running but BSA did that in uh in Saudi international did that in the RSM classic I mean both excellent course fits you there’s lessons to be learned here for punters. Yeah, these are cool Davidson that you know are going to fall in love with the course. Maybe it’s worth taking the chance and uh you know Valer Mack’s got a great record in coastal locations. You know he his DP World Tour made him he’s been playing well. He’s been playing some good golf for recent weeks. Absolutely. Lutely. Yeah. Yeah. Playing well. Won the DP World Tour Maiden title in Oman. Um I remember that tournament you wins were howling. Um and um yeah and then they won in Qatar. His second deep word to chart was in Qatar with, you know, he he thrives by the coast. Um, and he’s a really good putter. Yeah, we were we were focused on good putters last week. We backed lots of good putters. We didn’t bat the right good putter. Uh, and and Valamaki Valamaki deserves it because he’s come close to winning on the PJ tour. He had a couple of running up finishes and now um Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Long live Sammy Sami Valaki. Okay. Well, the other players in the frame, Max McGrevy, um we had Castillo, Niko Bavario is a player that you’ve been with in recent weeks as well. Yeah, we we were on him last week, Dave. Yeah, that that was the one that you almost missed from the staking plan. You remember you moved on you moved on prematurely, been a premature Dave Clark. Um but he Yeah, he tied for fourth with two others. There was there was there was a wonderful moment on Sunday when I thought Nico could win. He’s he’s he’s within two shots of the lead through 14 holes. Is it a perfect drive at the par five 15th? You know, he’s he’s 216 yards to the pin um after one shot on the uh on the par five 15th there. So, you potential eagle to tie the lead uh through 15 holes and then yeah, that was the moment on on Sunday where you Sunday took a real turn for the worse. He he flared that approach to the right from 216 yards. Didn’t even make a birdie. Uh missed a 10-footer of a birdie. So he’s part of the par five. Then he’s bogeied 16. Um then Litler beat Gwen Price in the semi-finals of the players championship darts. You know Price played well, but Litler is just an unbeatable darts player at the moment. Um but thank goodness got the place money. Yeah, you get full place off Nikico. You thinking about popping back up into the loft at that point? I was I was actually called on I was actually called on a family emergency immediately. literally just, you know, God just sort of toying with me. You had boom boom boom boom boom you immense punting disappointment then family emergency raced into the car. Um so yeah yeah testing Sunday night Dave. Um but we yeah you we we live to fight another day and I think yeah you glossed through Max McGrevy and and Ricky Castillo there but fascinating stories. I mean, uh, yeah, Max McGrevy will not be on Ricky Castillo’s Christmas card list because Max McGrevy holds a really long part of the final hole for birdie and that means Ricky Castillo loses his PJ tour card. You remember that top 100 last week was the last the last call the full series or whatever it’s called. Yeah. Yeah, the full series. You had to be in the top 100 to keep your card. It’s tougher than ever now to keep your card on the PJ tour. And and Ricky Castillo, a player we like, a former world number one amateur. we’ve backed we’ve backed a few times like you know I think he’s a brilliant player but he hasn’t really shown it his short game’s been letting him down then on Sunday just he turned into the Ricky Castillo I’ve been waiting for um and played absolutely brilliantly closed with a 62 he closed with a 62 so he’s in he’s in a tie for second place and a tie for second place would have been enough to get into the top 100 and keep his card and then he’s gone to the clubhouse and he’s pat on the back and then he’s watching Max McGrevy Max McGrevy has shot a bogey free 63 on Sunday and he’s birded the last doll and he’s knocked Castillo out the top 100. So um yeah yeah yeah it’ll be an interesting chat in the locker room afterwards because it didn’t matter for McGrevy. He was already in he was already in the top he could have missed that and they both would have kept that card. It’s quite complicated. I won’t bore you with the details but um yeah yeah yeah fascinate fascinating event fascinating event and and as you say like we were relieved Michael Bjöson didn’t win. Listen, I was ready. I’ve already made one appearance, the bin. I was going to be welcome to the sweet spot wearing the bin on my head if Michael Bjöson had had won, but Oh, blime me. I’ve changed my mind. I did want him I want him to win now. I didn’t know that was going to happen. Um I was ready. Listen, I’m I’m someone even uh messaged me on social media saying, “Ah, here comes Michael Thorpson.” I’m like, “Yeah, but the guy’s going off 25 to1, Steve. So like if you back him for a whole year, if even if he wins one event, you’re not even breaking even. No. Well, we do because he’s nothing against Michael Fjönson, and I massively respect your opinion of a future star, but it’s just the prices he’s going off. That’s all it is. Sure. Sure. Sure. No, no, we we haven’t backed him for a whole year. We were we were we were hamming it up. We we backed him for a few times in a row, and um yeah, I maintain that he’s got great ability. I mean, he tied seventh in the end. Um but yeah, as soon as Etravaria blew his title hopes on 15 and 16, for me it was just a case of anyone but anyone but I just I was just cheering cheering on the field from there. Um but we know what we’re dealing with. He’s already one of the best drivers in the world. I mean he’s he’s he’s literally one of the best drivers in the world. He’s phenomenal off the tea and you must have seen that last week. He’s setting himself up putting himself in some amazing positions, but his wedge play his wedge play is is is poor. um his wedge play needs a lot of work. Putting is a weakness that we’ve discussed before, but that driving is so good that it gives him a great foundation for for PJ tour success. He’s only 24. Yeah, if he makes improvements in wedge play and putting I think he’s a potential world beater. I I because he’s so young and we’ve seen this process many times before, Dave. Um yeah, reminds me a bit of Dustin Johnson because Dustin Johnson was a amazing driver. His his wedge play was a weakness and he turned it into a strength. You know, Dustin Johnson geted a lot of stick for his work ethic, but there was a spell in his palm where he had the track man out every day and he was really really dialed into working on his wedge game and he turned his wedge game into into a strength as I say and and yeah, I think Michael Bjöson can can be inspired by Michael uh uh uh Michael Forb can be inspired by Dustin Johnson uh and and and more recently Ludvig, you remember Ludvig Bear when he burst onto the scene. you know, all that early success was based upon fantastic driving, like supreme driving, but Oel was a bit ropey on approach. Um, wasn’t, you know, pretty inconsistent on the greens. And then he made improvements in those areas to to become what what what he is. Um, so yeah, Thor Bjönson, you must remember Dave, he only turned professional in June last year. Um, June last year, Dave. And um, you know, have a little bit of patience. I’m going to once this broadcast is finished, I’m going to uh text you that that Take That song. Do you remember that Take That song? An absolute classic. Patience by Take That. And um and I want you listen, he he is going to be sitting in my bin until he wins an event and then he can come out sit on the side and we’ll I’m going to have him as a factor every week. But until he’s a winner, I mean, cuz if he wins, what price does he go off after he’s an established winner? The same price. He can’t be any short. No, no, but obviously he’s been playing in full series events. He can win an elite event. You know, you can he can win at a big price in in really good company because he’s driving. Yeah, that’s I’d be more interested in him in that kind of event. Yeah, sure. Sure, sure. That’ll happen. Just have a bit of patience, Dave. Yeah. My dream that’s just popped into my head will be to get Michael Forbjönson to come around your house and sing that Take That Song and the Style of Gary Barlow to your face. Um, if I had if I had unlimited amounts of money, I’m sure I could arrange that, but unfortunately I don’t. Um, but I’ll speak to some I’ve got some rich friends. I’ll ask them if they would donate a million pounds to get Michael Fabian. Is that what you reckon it would cost to get? I reckon I reckon he’d do it for a million. Yeah. Just like half an hour at your house singing singing Take That Songs in Your Face until you cry. That’s what I want. Right. Let’s not make this all about Michael Bjönson. Let’s move on. Unless you’ve got anything else to add, Steve. One event this week. I’d like to add about Johnny Kefir. We can’t let this podcast go without mentioning Johnny Kefir. Um it may become my new obsession. You know, if Michael Phil Bjöson’s in bins, then Johnny Kefir can take over because Johnny Kefir has just arrived from the cornfairy tour. He’s he’s been winning titles for fun on the cornf tour. Clearly another fantastic rising star. I mean, yeah, it’s Yeah, BS is going to be fantastic if he gets the opportunities as a live golfer. You know, Johnny Keef as a PJ tour man now. I feel like he’s he’s the same age. He’s the same age, 24 years of age. So, I think Kefir and Bjöson are going to be winning PJ Tour titles very soon. Eric Cole we have to have a little think about because Eric Cole Eric Cole I mean Eric Cole Eric Cole I mean it was as I say it was another week where really testing your metal. Eric Cole’s co-leader on Saturday night. Um he got to 17 under par after six holes of round three co-leader. So 17 under par and then he finished the tournament 16 under par. So he he was two over par for for that third round from the seventh hole onwards and then you know 17 under through 42 holes. 16 under through 72 holes. Yeah, I was really disappointed with Eric Coy at the front. It was like a like a a greyhound. What do you call those greyhounds that get, you know, in in the lead and then they sort of look around and then um yeah, it was probably not for not for broadcasting what I thought. Yeah, I can’t remember if there was some terrific name for but um so yeah, Eric Carl we have to have a think about. He’s a 37 year old maiden and clearly it got to him when he hit the front. It transformed his his performance. Uh Vincent Whe was a tease day. Vincent Whley was on I was on 59 watch on uh on Sunday. Vincent Whley he’s he’s six under par through 10 holes. Um that’s 59 watch on a par 70. Um and then triple bogey at the 14th to to drop out the places. uh nowhere near the places. But again, trying not to beat myself up because Yeah. Well, I know you get you’re so uh mentally and you know, emotionally invested in finding winners, tipping winners, and betting winners on the golf. It’s hard. It’s hard. It’s hard. It’s hard. And we avoided plenty of players that flopped last week. Yeah. Brian Arman was was well back. Harris English was favorite. Sahi Thagala was a talking horse. Yeah. All of those all those failed miserably. Um two of them missed the cut. So, um, yeah. Yeah, it is. Yeah, we got a lot of things right, but we didn’t get enough right. And that’s that’s the game in Golf B. You’ve got to get everything right to get rewards and, um, yeah, I’m hopeful. I’m hopeful that the Australian PGA is going to uh is going to deliver that because it delivered it last year and we must we must um we must remember the good times. Okay. Well, listen, the turn of the year is not a million miles away. Uh, if you want to what do you want to know from Steve? Players to follow in 2026. I’m sure we’ll do some specials over the Christmas time, new year, whatever. So, what whatever you want to hear from Steve, well, I’m sure we’ll do, you know, major picks, but but players to watch, youngsters, etc., etc. Jump in the comments below. Let us know what you want to hear. If you want to pick the brains of Steve, uh, at the back end of the year, because we want players to follow for 2026, for sure. So, get in the comments, get involved. Uh, right. If you want to donate, if you want to donate to the the fund, there’s your GoFundMe page to get Michael Fjöson to go around Dave Clark’s house and and make him cry. If you want to do that, goofund me. Goofund me. I don’t actually know how that works, but if I do that and say go. I thought you was going to say if anyone knows good loft conversions, then get in touch as well. So, there we go. Nice place. We’ve abandoned the pylon. We’re going for like Steve to have a snug in his loft to just reflect on uh on the world of golf. Right down under. Let’s go. Australian PJ Championships. Uh dates back to 1929, this event. Um listen, I’ve done a little bit of research. Elvis Smiley. Did you tip Elvis Smiley last year for this? We did at a massive price. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. He We only had two tips for this and we had 80 to1 winner. So, um yeah, that’s why I’m Yeah, my Pekka is up. Um we smile. Minimally, Cam Smith has won this three times. Um Harold Varnner in 2016, the only winner not from Australia since David How in 1998. You tell me you’ve got five tips here. I wonder how many are Australian. Uh, right. Where are we, Steve? And talk to us about the track. Yeah, good point, D. 23 of the last 24 winners have been Australian. Uh, and you’ll be pleased to know I got all five. All five of mine are Australian. So, yeah, we’re at Royal Queensland Golf Club, Brisbane, Australia, 7,85 yards, par 71, three par fives. It staged two Aussie PGAs in 2022. We have one in January on the Australasian Tour and then one in November co-sanction with the DP World Tour. Then in 2023, it was just the one DP World Tour and then only one last year. Uh both in November. We’ve also seen the Australian Amateur staged at Royal Queensland 2009 2020. Flat course on the northern bank of the Brisbane River, wide fairways, no rough. We got hot and calm weather for the most part. There’s a thunderstorm threat for for round one. They’ve been having some terrible weather in Brisbane already this week. Um I’ve seen evidence of um hailstones that are like bigger than Only 54 holes last year, was it not? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. We had rain we had rain problems last year. This week I’ve already seen pictures of hailstones bigger than your head, Dave. Yeah. Astonishing weather taking place in in in Brisbane. But it is going to clear up for the tournament. I’m pretty confident we’re going to get 72 hours. The first day is the key. If we can get some action on the first day, then we’ll get we get 72. But they’ve had some biblical storms this week. Um but yeah. Yeah. For the tournament, hot and calm generally. Um, and you got 156 players going to post. And we need a claxon, Dave. But I I I could probably get one in today if you if you don’t fancy. Yeah, it’s your turn. Toss a coin. Toss a coin. That Claxton is to alert punters need to get their bets on soon. That is the play starts at 8:00 p.m. Wednesday night for UK punters. So yeah. Yeah, it’s it’s quite exciting because this is so early that you know on Wednesday night you can actually enjoy a bit of golf. Uh won’t be on a telly at that stage but you can follow it on uh on your various devices. Dave, I know you’re full of devices. Vices and devices for sure. That is for sure. Right. Okay. Um give what was the attribute then? What sort of player are we looking for? Do you know what? It’s a it’s a funny week in that respect. If you look at the honors board at Royal Queen Queensland, all short game masters, you know, your Cameron Smiths, your your Mimules, your your Elvis Smiley. I mean, Elvis has got a lot in his locker, but what he has got is a fantastic short game. Um, so it was his short game that won it for him last year. He was a bit bit erratic in places, but um yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. You want a fantastic short game. It’s not a long course. Um but yeah, be playing fairly soft early on. Um it’s there to be overwhelmed. It’s there to be overwhelmed. I think you need to get a 20 under part of a chance of winning. Okay. Right. Be interesting to see if Elvis is uh in the building and in the team again this year. Right. Market show. Uh we’ve got joint favorites with most firms. Mwood Lee and Neman. Mucky Neman has traveled down. Raasmus Near Peterson, Marco Penge, Adam Scott, Mark Leechman, David Puig is there again. Sebastian Munz, Carlos Ortiz, and Cam Smith. As well as a lot of players priced up 20 to1 and shorter here. This is I don’t like the look of this market. It’s filthy. Um, right. How many? We’ve got five in the team. Who is the main pick? We got five in the team. We’re overlooking all the ones you mentioned there. We’ll come to the market leaders at the end, but yeah, you almost got to the man I like most, and it is the same man that I liked last year, and it’s Elvis Smiley, Dave. Elvis Smiley, absolute hero for us in this event last year. We’re gonna have to take a third of the price we got last year, but I think that’s more than fair given the development. You know, we’re talking about a DP World Tour champion now, fresh from an excellent rookie campaign on the DP World Tour. He made it all the way to the DP World Tour Championship, Dave. So, you know, you’ve had a successful rookie campaign if you make it the DP World Tour Championship. He’s a year older, a year more experienced, more confident. And I love the way he’s talking coming into this. He’s relishing the fact that he tees up as um you know, feeling like one of the most likely winners. Like he he he you can tell he’s he’s relishing his status. He’s he’s spoken like he feels like he’s the man to beat this week. I love the the confidence of of Elvis Smiley. I think it’s justified confidence. He’s he’s walking with a swagger around a place that he is, you know, he he’s so comfortable. So yeah, I think he’s going to defend his title. Elvis Smiley, you know, last year we were on him based on potential and his course credentials. You know, this is a young Queenslander teeing up in his home state. He was a quarterfinalist in that 2020 Australian amateur that I I mentioned. He lost that week in the quarterfinals to the eventual winner of the Australian amateur, Jed Morgan. Um, who subsequently went on to win at Royal Queensland in the Aussie PGA. Um, so yeah, no disgrace losing to to Jed Morgan there. And then smiley compiled form figures in the Aussie PGA at Royal Queensland of 121241. His course knowledge is incredibly deep, Dave, because he’s really good friends with Mike Clayton. Mike Clayton designed the course. Clayton has caddied for Elvis Smiley in this in this tournament before. It’s a real edge because the the course designer is is loaded Smiley with with with tips and strategies for success at Royal Queensland. and Smiley’s got all the tools to for for that task. You know, magnificent driver, short game is mustered as discussed. Um and and and he he’ll look at this field. You mentioned how many players are in that in that uh price bracket. He’s very congested at the top of the market there. He’ll he won’t fear any of them because he he he he overcame the ultimate test last year. He was in a jewel with Cameron Smith. Cameron Smith. Cameron Smith back then a man to be feared. um you know also had a great record at the course. You couldn’t get have got a more dangerous opponent to go up with in a jewel last year. So he had the ultimate test last year as a maiden and then overcome it one by two shots and this year he won’t be really be worried about Cameron Smith so much because Cameron Smith has not banked a Cameron Smith has not made a cut this year Dave I mean this is that is an incredible stat. Yeah because obvious there there’s no there’s no cuts on the live circuit. So the only checks he’s banked are in the live events. He’s played in other events, majors. Obviously, he’s still got exemptions for major. He’s played in majors. He’s played in a few others, but to have not made a single cut. He’s not made a single cut in the in the non-live events because the, you know, the liver events don’t have cuts. Um he missed the cut last week in the Saudi international. So Cameron Smith, since he’s become a father, he sort of lost, you know, he lost I felt he lo lost a little bit of his drive when he joined Liv, you know, the guaranteed money of of Liv. He he really has been on a downward spiral. Um and uh yeah, he’s really low on confidence now, I’d say, and just enjoying fatherhood and and and seems disinterested a little bit. But um yeah, maybe the spark will come back for camp. But the point I’m making is Smiley will look at every player in this field and feel, you know, I can beat him. You know, there’s a fearlessness about Smiley now, which is which is lovely to see. He’s a youngster I’ve been following from day one, and I think he’s really ready to start, you know, becoming, you know, a world beater. Uh he was second in the French Open at the end of September, uh on the DP World Tour. I think he he he keeps his title and above anything else he’s a headline writer’s dream. Elvis bloody abs bloody. We look forward to that in the racing post uh seeing that or on the racing post online as well. Um right, so that is the first of five selections then. Elvis is in the team. He’s in the building once again. Who’s the next best? My other four at three figure prices uh when the analysis is done. Yes. Here we go. So, all of our, you know, our most signific and and and the next best is Curtis Luck, a player that I have always liked, a former world number one amateur. And and not that long ago, Dave, it was in 2017 that he he was top of the amateur rankings. He won the 2016 US amateur. He won an event on the Australasian Tour that year when he was still an amateur. Four years later, he won on the corn ferry tour yet to make yet to win on the PJ tour. He he was fifth in the 2017 Quick and Loans National. That’s his best result on the PJ tour, but still only 29 and has got so much to offer if he can stay healthy. You know, this is a lad who’s had some injury issues. We were on him last year for the Australian Open at 125 to1 and he was runner up in that and we know he can act at Royal Queensland too. He was fourth on his course to boo in the 2023 Aussie PGA. This year he hasn’t played that much. He’s getting over back problems. Dave has had to play a light schedule, but when he has played, he’s he’s he’s looked really good and really dangerous. He was third in the national on the Australasian tour in March and then eighth and sixth in his two latest Aussie tour events last month. He played back to back. It’s quite significant because there was a spell during this. He had this bulging disc in his back. There was a spell where he couldn’t play backto-back weeks. He had to play a week and then rest his back. But last month he played backto-back weeks and and played well, eighth and sixth. I think that’s really encouraging. He took a month off after that to prepare body and mind for these two big weeks. We got the Australian Open next week. We got the Aussie PJ this week. This is the the time all eyes are on Australia. Uh Curtis Luck bursting with talent. Appears to be healthy enough to to compete this week. And yeah, the massive prices have to be taken. Okay. You know, it’s 2025, right? you you referenced something in like 2017 and went not that long ago. Well, relatively speaking. Relatively speaking. Yeah. No, I’m well aware. I’m well aware. Although my son’s very confused about the uh my son’s keeps pointing at the telly. We’re watching the World Championship Darts draw yesterday. It was it was at 4:30. He’s he’s going what they on about 2026 26 2025. And I was It’s quite a tough one to get your head around that, isn’t it? Because it finishes on finishes. Yeah. When it finish third of January. Yeah. the first event of the 2026 season because it it finishes on the 3rd of January. But um yeah, that one’s a much easier puzzle to solve. But yeah, um yeah. Yeah. So that’s two two. Listen, I’m very excited because we’ve got some massive prices here. Very and I I just like firing each way darts. So we’re two down. What else have you got for us? Anthony Quail, a couple of years older than Curtis Luck. Quail a Brisbane based 31year-old must be so excited about this week. He’s playing close to home in the form of his life. He’s got two Australasian tour victories to his name. Both of them came in Queensland, the 2020 Queensland Open, the 2022 Queensland PGA. His record on this particular Queensland track is superb. He was sixth on Doo in 2022, third last year after closing with a 63. Since that third place 12 months ago, he’s been consistently excellent on the Australasian Tour. He’s posted 12 top 10s since last year’s Aussie PGA, seven top fives. He’s had four top 10 in a row coming into this week. He was 10th in the Queensland PGA last week. And it’s worth pointing out that that third place finish in the Victorian PGA last December was incredible. He finished third, lost by two shots despite suffering a sevenshot penalty in round one. What was it for? He thought he thought that preferred lies were in operation on the whole course. You get these you get the memo come through and he just like he saw preferred lies. He thought, “Oh, that’s preferred li.” But it was actually only on one hole of the course. Um so he’s played four holes thinking it’s preferred lies before realizing the blunder. Um and that that that turned a 66 into a 73. Um so terrible first round and then outscored everyone in the field by a mile the final three rounds. Um, so he’s he’s he’s done enough on the Aussie tour to earn a DP World Tour Card. This is a key point because there’s a lot of pressure on players um if they know they win this week, they would get a DP World Tour Card. Elvis Smiley handled that pressure really well last year. But Anthony Qu’s already got a DP World Tour Card for 2026 um because he he’s played so well on the Australasian tour. So he’s he’d be he’d be a rookie. Yeah, he’s starting this is the Sorry, we should have mentioned this is the start of the DP World Tour season, the new season. Yes, it is. Yeah, the curtain raiser. It’s the curtain raiser. It’s the curtain raise. I mean, Quail would have been in it anyway because obviously lots of Australian players invited to this, but um yeah, this is the start of Anthony Quail’s uh rookie campaign on the DP World Tour and I think he’s going to start in Barn Barntorming fashion, Dave. Yeah, he’s um really exciting bet. Okay. Right. So, we’ve got an Elvis, a Luck, and a Quail. There are incredible incredible potential for puns next week. Um right, who else have we got? We got an even more interesting character. I would suggest here in in Austin Bautista. Austin Boutista, a 28-year-old Sydney born player, a winner on the Australasian Tour in 2022, then again in 2023, winless last year, but trophies are flowing this year. He won on the Big Easy Tour in South Africa in June. He won on the Sunshine Tour in South Africa in September. Then he won a third Aussie tour title last month. He’s had 17 top 20s this year. finding consistency in his late 20s and now fully committed to being a a professional golfer. I mean, you’re probably wondering why the heck I’m saying that, but you know, this is a lad who’s got a fascinating backstory. He was the number one amateur in Australia as a youngster, destined to be a great golfer, made a promising start to life as a professional golfer, but then in February 2018 decided to walk away from pro golf and spent two years doing humanitarian aid work, humanitarian aid work in developing countries, war torn countries. He he he decided that golf was a a selfish sport. They are pro golf, chasing bucks. Um, you know, a selfish pursuit. He wanted to help people who were struggling all over the world, you know, poverty, natural disasters, people with drug problems. He’s he’s a real anti-drugs man. Um and um you know, he he he did two full years of global volunteer work um in in in in in the peak of his golfing powers. Um you know, clearly like you know, he’s clearly like got the soul of an angel, this boy. um and didn’t think didn’t plan to come back to golf but then in 2020 he thought that you know if he could be really successful in golf and it would give him a a more of a platform to to do this this helping people that he want he wants to do so in 2020 February 2020 made his return to golf you know it was hard to access tournaments by then but he got in a few tournaments started building a bit of momentum um Queensland PGA actually his return was in this state Queensland PGA 2020 and then the silverware has has started to float. So I I would say this year is the best version we’ve ever seen of Bautista. Um and yeah, there’s absolutely nobody I’d rather see win this tournament than him. You know, he’s clearly terrific, terrific egg, playing consistently well now. Always been bursting with talent and and yeah, enormous price. Well, yeah, I’m not going to pretend that I knew his backstory. Uh what price would you make him to ever play on the lift tour? Oh, a million. Yeah, a million. Absolutely. Yeah, absolutely. I mean, it’s funny like tip tip number three this week in tip number four. Very contrasting characters. Um, we’ve come to tip number four, but yeah. Yeah, this fella’s Yeah, he he he Yeah, he did the next tip. It played in the Saudi international last week. Yeah, you talk about the live tour. Yeah, Bautista might have been offered a a spot in the Saudi International last week and he would have turned it down. Like he’s Yeah, this is a fellow with um you serious amount of moral fiber. Is that a thing? Well, listen, he’d be out of place on this show, wouldn’t he? Not talking about brown flakes, but he’s got he’s got a serious amount of fiber in his body. Yeah, exactly. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. We’re disgusting buck chasers, aren’t we? But um got one more player. One more player, right? At what must be an enormous price. Who you got for us? We have got uh Yeah, one more player. Yeah. Yeah. Sorry. Yeah. It’s tip number tip number five, isn’t it? Yeah. We We done Yeah. Yeah. Number five, we got Elvis, Luck, Quail, Baltista, the good. We got Harrison Crow. Copshore Harrison Crow. Yeah, you got some great names here, haven’t we? Yeah, they’re incredible. I mean, let’s go for him again. Yes. Smiley, Luck, Quail, B, Elvis, Luck, Quail, the Good Egg Pata, and now the Crow. Stone the Crows, mate. Stone the Crows. Uh Harrison Crowe, a cockshore 24y old. As I say, a completely contrasting character to Baltista. Yeah, this is there’s there’s a real arrogance about Harrison Crow. There’s a real um I remember he shot he was at St. Andrews. He was at St. Andrews and played a shot from the the street in St. Andrews onto the 18th green. A bit like Berser’s conduct. I remember seeing this. It went viral on the on the tintet um that he was hitting a shot from outside a pub in the street in St. Andrews onto the onto the home of golf’s uh 18th green. I think it was. But at the time I watched it and I was just thinking it’s just this disgusting conduct, isn’t it? This this brash Australian coming over to the home of golf and you know I think Bester and Crow similar characters. Um but I don’t care how arrogant he is this week. If he wins the golf tournament I will love him forever. Um yeah he’s extremely extremely successful amateur. Harrison Crowe won on the Australasian tour in 2022 when still an amateur. Yeah, it’s big achievement that the New South Wales Open. He turned pro in September 2023. Finished runner up in the Queensland PGA in November that year. Last year he finished eighth in the Aussie PGA at Royal Queensland. Then he was fifth in the Australian Open. So threatening at the end of last year to to uh to to to really make his mark. He claimed a second Aussie Tour victory in March this year. Missed the cut last week in the Saudi International. He he was happy to play in the Saudi international. Should be back among the birdies this week. You know, unfamiliar territory last week, but you know, he knows this course like the back of his hand. He finished 16th in the stroke play section of the 2020 Australian amateur at Royal Queensland. So 16th out of 198 runners. That’s worth worth pointing out. So played well there five years ago. Then he made the last 32 of the knockout stages. You know, course proven, bursting with talent, 24 years old, capable of becoming a world beater. Um, you know, he is that good. Um, yeah, he may well be crowing on Sunday, Dave. Um, as the Australian PJ champion. Let’s hope so. Listen, I I like your tactic this week. I think I I flagged it up already, but I’ve counted one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, 10. 10 players that are no bigger than 20 to1. I mean, that is just a disgrace for a golf tournament. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. It’s an unappealing top of the market. I mean, there’s there’s one player that that What is it? What did you say? 156 runners. Yeah. Yeah. 156 runners. Yeah. You’ve got 10 players at 20 to1 and and shorter. I mean, it’s just God. Never mind. Angry Ginge. Never mind. Angry Ginge. We got Angry Dave here. Angry Dave. Well, listen. Give the punters a chance. Jesus. Feed the world. Feed the world. No, I know what you’re saying, Dave. I’m as angry as you, but um I’m trying to stay calm. But yeah, out out of those market leaders, Mim. Yeah. Well, so we’ve already done Cam Smith. We’ve done him lots already. Uh let’s talk Mimu Lee and Neman who are the front two. Yeah. Yeah. Much prefer Mimu to Neman. Mimu Lee fantastic course record. Won this in 2023. Has become a PJ tour champion since then. He’s had some bright autumn performances, but he’s been bulking up lately, Dave. And he I I saw comments where he said he thinks he’s taken it too far. So he’s got to he’s been bulking up. He ain’t gone Bryson Shambo in the olden days, but he’s he’s been bulking up. and um he feels like he’s taking it a bit far. So he and and he’s also been working on some swing changes. So he he you know swing changes, tinkering with his body. Um those two things were enough to put me off, you know, but you’ve clearly got to respect Mimui’s chances. Um Wackam Neman missed the cut in Saudi Arabia last week. As mentioned, he was poor in Spain in the event prior to that. He made loads of changes after missing the cut at the open. You might remember he just sacked his cad. He sacked his coach. He he he went bananas after the literally went bananas after the uh after the open. He he almost after winning all those events as well. Yeah. Yeah. It was really odd behavior because you remember he he he knew he’d missed the cut and he he he he he he stomping all over his golf bag as his caddy was put in his uh that poor old Caddy nearly got that poor old Caddy nearly got a you know nearly got his wrist uh nearly got his hand chopped off by Neman’s foot um as a parting shot. Then he was immediately sat. Yeah. Nean did all sorts of things and he hasn’t he hasn’t really been impressive uh more recently. He he’s he’s struggling to find top gear. So I think Mimi is a better bet better than Whackham Nean, but I’m concerned about some of the comments I’ve heard from Mimi about swing changes and bulking up. Rasmus [ __ ] Peterson said, “You obviously want to talk about him.” Um is he in your bin? We going to get the prop out again? Um there’s not a lot of room left in the bin. There’s so many guys in there. Just have a little patience. Rasmus [ __ ] Peterson. For me, this is like after the Lord Mayor show for him. you know, he would have had his schedule set at the start of the year and he he he’s put the Australian PGA in there because he finished eighth last year. He liked the course, but I’m surprised it’s still in there because, you know, he’s obviously had a brilliant DP World Shaw Championship. Um, you secured him a a PJ tour card. He be planning his his state side adventure. You It’s not long before he’s got to be he’s got to work out his accommodation for for the PJ tour campaign. You know, this is a distraction for me. So, I was surprised he he stayed in it and it’s going to be a lowscoring week. Remember, you know, Rasmus’ weakness is the putting. You know, is he going to hold enough putts to to justify that short price? I think not. Right. Two more players I want to ask you about. Our favorite Marco Pen. Yeah. And would you be surprised if there was a bold showing from Adam Scott this week? Marco Penge again surprising entrant for me. Missed the cut on his course to boo last year. PJ tour player for next season. you know, apparently he’s already got his his house sorted. He did a bit of house hunting when he knew he was going to be getting that that card. Um, but yeah, surely even less motivation than Nar Peterson. I mean, Nar Peterson, we must mention, obviously, is a DP World Tour maiden. He’s still seeking the DP World Tour Maiden victory. Uh, so he has that layer of motivation. Penge obviously not a maiden. I I just I just sort of suspect this is a glorified holiday for Penge. You know, try and get in the mind of the of the golfers. I can’t see him doing much practice before the tournament. I can’t see him doing much practice during, you know, between rounds. You know, I would see this as a leisure trip, letting his hair down. Remember, he was ill couple of weeks ago. He was ill during the the Deeper World Tour playoffs. I feel like, you know, it’s a nice place to go, isn’t it? You’re going to Australia for a little uh a little I think it’s a leisure. I think it’s leisure rather than business for Marco Pendra. I think he’ll have a little bit of fun. Um Adam Scott, I just Adam Scott, you just always very short in these in these events in his homeland. And um yeah, surely surely Adam Scott has no level of progress to make now. Yeah, we’ve seen the best of Adam Scott, haven’t we? Um I I I I look at Adam Scott prices these days and struggle to get excited. Um because um 12 to1, 11 to one in a place. Yeah, I just don’t see the scope for improvement and I just think that, you know, it’ll be there or thereabouts. One of my favorite expressions, there or there are boats, Dave, you’ll be there or there are boats. But yeah, I’m not going to take short prices about him winning the event. It’s just Okay. Well, listen, that’s plenty. 150 odd runners. Uh run away from the top of the market is our advice other than Elvis and sort out some uh some big price winners there. Uh you you touched on it, Steve. Uh no no good in the darts this week last. Well, I mean, yeah, I mean, fortunately, there was one for you, the tournament sponsors were going a quarter of the four, so if you got into the semi-finals, you got your place money. But I mean, Gwen Price played really well. Uh but Luke Litler is just an unbeatable Aerosmith at the moment. You know, we have to we have to accept that we’re dealing with a a phenomenon here. Uh you start getting bets running up on him to uh to win at Alip Pali or what is that a play? Well, he’s 11 to 10. He’s 11 to 10 best price for for Alip Pali. He’s got a lovely draw. I mean, his first real hurdle is going to be quarterfinal against Gilwin Price, I feel. So, um you you you look at Luke Humphrey’s draw, it looks it looks trickier to me. Um, yeah, I don’t see Luke Litter being beaten at Alip Pali, uh, if he stays. Is he going off of Phil Taylor prices now? We we’ve previously spoken about Scottish Sheffller going off Tiger Woods prices. Is that what we’re seeing with Luke Litner now? Well, it’s not. I mean, Taylor used to go off at 4 to9 for World Championships, you know, 4 to11, that sort of touch. You know, Taylor was, you know, priced up as an unbeatable Arismith and and and they’re not doing that with Litler. Um, so yeah, I think odds against Little is a fair price, but yeah, we we we’ll as the World Championship approaches, we’ll um, you know, we’ll dig deeper into that. I think we got other podcasts about the World Championship, but it’s very hard to look away from Luke Litler. Um, and then I I have got some thoughts as, you know, options in in the other half of the draw. Yeah, that’s going to be the key to success for the working man is to find the finalist. And, um, I’ve got a couple of players in mind who I think can go well at a big price, potentially get the final. Uh, is it too early for you to share them with us? Yeah, I think it is. I think the producer will get angry. I think the producer get angry because I he was on to me yesterday planning all sorts of lavish darts podcasts. So, yeah, I better not. But, um, yeah, if they don’t come to fruition, then I will certainly reward sweet spot with them. But, um, marvelous. I just think I think I think I think just just as a little warning Dave because you know we’re keen on um responsible gambling and you know we’re talking about Loot Litter a hot pot here at 11 to 10 and I think he is a hot pot but it must be remembered he’s a human being not a particularly fine physical specimen with all due respect you know it takes one to no one you know my daughter told me I look like Homer Simpson yesterday it was quite hurtful but bit in there or something you bit yellow was you at the I think No, I think it’s just a shape. The [ __ ] Homer Simpson. He’s flat. Then he’s Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. We got a beer belly. But um that’s not Yeah. And L Little Little’s got a belly. It’s not a beer belly. It’s a flipping monster. It’s a monster belly. He likes drinking the monsters, don’t he? You know, the energy drinks. He he likes drinking monsters. He likes eating kebabs. But the point I’m making is it’s a long tournament this, you know, it’s it’s bigger than ever. It’s a bigger field than it’s ever been. He’s a young lad. He’s fine. He’s a young lad. No. No. He must make this point because there’s going to be punters out there risking the the family silver. We we we mustn’t risk the family silver because he this tournament starts on December 11. Luke Liter’s got to play on December 11 as defending champion. Opening night, you always have the first if he’s not a skull. Yeah. So December 11, he’s in action and it don’t finish till January 3rd. So you’re betting on a human being who’s not in tremendous physical shape um staying healthy from December 11 to January the 3rd. It’s just worth remembering that before you start. He’s a young lad. He’ll be fine. He’ll be fine. Okay, that’s not a factor. But do gamble responsibly, but that’s not a factor. Listen, while we’re on the uh the subject of darts and before we get a round up, um Patty Power have reintroduced the perfect challenge. I think it’s going on as we record this. Uh 147 versus a nine dart versus a hole in one. Uh, I will open the discussion with I think you can mish hit a T-OT and Fluke holding one. So, I’m going to rule that one out as the toughest one straight away. Are we happy with that? I’m surprised this one’s still rumbling. Yeah, I think it’s I think I speak with with a very strong opinion on this actually. I know this this has rumbled since the you caveman times, isn’t it? It probably feels like it. Yeah, probably cavemen de debating in their caves what’s what’s harder, a 147 or or a nine D. I think for a professional professional sportsman, the nine data is miles harder than the 147 for a professional sportsman because you got to get nine perfect. Yeah, it’s to be fair us rambling away won’t won’t find the answer that the facts are there. The facts are there. If you if you look at the number of nine dartas um nine darts per leg uh compared to 147s per frame is an emphatic argument that nine darts are harder for professional darts players to get than 147. You’re sounding very much like Mr. Wayne Mardle here. He’s crunched all the numbers as well. I know he’s crunched the numbers. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Wayne’s very passionate. It’s it’s a nine D and so am I. I mean you can’t argue with those facts that you you as I say nine darters per leg. um 147s per frame, then the facts are there for all to see. But then, yeah, I I I I must make the point that um for amateur for amateur sports people um the 147’s harder, I’d say. But yeah, there’s a contrast here. Yeah, for if I I could turn up at a dart board, devote 25 years to getting a nine dart or I might succeed. I could devote 25 years to getting a 147 and I wouldn’t succeed. Um because, you know, I could fluke nine I could get nine fluky darts. I couldn’t get was it 36 36 shots is it in a 15 red 15 black six colors. Yeah. Yeah. I can’t control the the go the the the uh the white ball to that extent to to do that. So yeah I think for amateurs you got more chance of getting the the nine darts. Certainly. Yeah. We’re not even discussing the all in one. It’s just clearly the easiest I’d say. thing is, I mean, when you tackle the numbers for pros, um, this week, uh, he’s not going to do Snooker any favors because there’s been two 147s in qualifiers for the, uh, UK Championships already. So, Oh, there you go. There you go. They’re 10 a penny. They’re 10 a penny. Last week there was all in one in the RSM Classic. Sam Stevens got allin-one in the RSM Classic. Um, all-in-one’s, you know, I’ve got allin-one. I’ve had allin-one um on on a 220 yard uphill. Uh, a bloody glorious shot. I could spend a sad driver. You got a spare 10 10 10 10 10 hours to talk about this. I took fivewood. I took fivewood up here. It’s literally the hardest par three in in Dorsit. I just I thought he’s gonna I thought he was going to go to world then. I thought he was going to go to Wolfdale Country Club uphill 220 yards. You can’t even see the pin like and it just never left the flag. And we got up there and uh we got on the green ball. Yeah, we Yes, it was. It was my We got on there. I said, “Dad, it’s got a very good chance being in the R.” It’s got a very chance being And then we looked in the eye and a wonderful moment. Me and my dad dancing around the green. Still still got the ball somewhere. Uh, so yeah, is there a plaque on the tea? You know, the sweet spots Steve Palmer hold here. Yeah, there should be. Good idea. Yeah, I’ll create one. But um, yeah, hole in one definitely the easiest. Then then yeah, nine dart definitely the artist. No question for me, Dave. But yeah, I’ll enjoy tuning into that. I I did watch it last last year. Um well apparently they’re going to play until two two of the three have been achieved. So we’ve got Shawn Murphy, Karen Wilson, Luca Brcell. Um then we’ve got Luke Humphre and I think MVG is waiting in the wings as well. They’re going to have a changeover. Then we got Ross Fischer, Robert Rock, and Matt Wallace. So you know, so it’s unlimited time then. It’s like an ash the unlimited six hours has been booked in. So if they haven’t done it by the end of six hours, they’re stopping. They’re not going to continue until the end of time. I I really hope for their sake they’re going to surely ends after 600. I mean the best thing about last year was when Michael Van Gillan was um uh upsetting Shawn Murphy because Shawn Murphy makes a lot of outlandish claims about Well, Luke Humphre and Shawn Murphy I think Yeah. got very spicy. Well, MVG was the main protagonist in that. Yeah. Yeah. Luke Humphrey’s got involved. Yeah. I mean there there there’s there’s a real element of doubt about Shawn Murphy’s assertions on what he’s achieved in the world of darts. And then when he I don’t think there’s any doubt whe he’s claimed all sorts of nine darts. He reckons he’s done all three, doesn’t he? So yeah, he reckons he’s done all three and then when he stepped up to the dart board, he was struggling to hit the board and then um MVG was um casting a lot of suspicion around him and Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. MVG is a real character. So, I hope MVG is there to um to stir again. It was quite a compelling viewing. Right, let’s have a tipping round up then. Uh it is the Australian PGA Championship. Uh Steve has bagged five selections for us all at big prices. Who are they? Elvis Smiley, Curtis Luck, Anthony Quail, Austin Boutista, and Harrison Crowe. Marvelous stuff. We are down under, of course. Speaking of down under, uh, our man is still in there strong. Angry Ginge, I think he’s second favorite now. He’s taking over at the top then. Is that um H? Who the bloody hell is H? He’s in steps. Was he H from steps? No. No. He’s uh he’s a rapper. He’s He’s now six to four. But listen, we’re still 15 to8. Second favorite. We got a chance. So, what’s he done that’s so impressive then? Did he eat a kangaroo’s testicle with a plum? Listen, I’ve not watched it. That’s a good one. With a plum. Cambridge Tesco with a plum. So I mean I mean surprising I’ve watched the market but I’ve not watched any of the show. So I can’t tell you. I’m afraid. No no no I certainly can’t tell you. I certainly can’t tell you. I mean to be to be honest I want Angry Jin should win for a sweet spotter but then if he doesn’t win I want Osborne to win. Jack Osborne because his his dad died a couple of months ago. Yeah. It’s a big brave effort to brave effort to just go straight into the jungle after that. So he he would he would be the one I support. Yeah. Jack Osborne wins I’m a celebrity and then Austin Bautista wins the Aussie PGA then the world will heal a little bit I feel but um yeah we have we shall see Dave sorry I am supporting Angry Ginge don’t worry I’m I’m fully make sure you are okay right to you out there thank you for watching do get involved like comment subscribe smash that notification bell jump in the comments we want to hear from you particularly on what you want to ask Steve over the new year you know players to follow maybe want a view on one or two players for the future uh do jump in the comments ments and get involved. Gamble responsibly and we’ll see you next time.

Golf ⛳️ predictions for next seaon .
On the PGA Tour ,it will be interesting to see the progression of recent winner Michael Brennan, who seems to have that type of game to potentially move into to the Elite group of players.
And 2 qualifyers from the DP World tour would be Keita Nakajima and Marco Penge, i think they can make an impact in the USA.
as for the DP World tour, player I'll be keeping an eye on is Ben Schmidt, excellent Amateur who took his time to find his feet as a pro ,but showed real progression this year ,and expect him to challenge or even get a win early in the season .
Philip schofield is my tip for the aussie pga
Let Dave have a go tipping this week, he can't be any worse..

Great show guys. All the best for 2026 👏 Love the Tuesday YouTube release. Would be great for you to keep up the shows over Xmas & NY.
Festive period special – would love Steve to go through his early thoughts for the Majors next year.
PGA @ Aronimink GC
US Open @ Shinnecock Hills
The Open @ Royal Birkdale
and of course early thoughts on Augusta.
Just absolutely superb stuff. "Dave's Bin" has to stay a feature, surely? Like a golf pod Ted Rogers. The thought of Steve sat in the loft and slowly pulling the hatch back up had me in stitches.
Good on Sami Valimaki. There are loads of Finnish sports stars as he said. But my favourite is Kimi Raikkonen. For his interviews alone!
Cameron Young to have a massive year in 2026. And the X-Man will win a major. Rest I'll leave to Steve.
Good luck all.
Just looked, i had him last year 60-1
Don't start talking about. The ones that got away if you follow golf you can have the same insight . THIS is the best way of getting one over the bookies big prices great place terms what's not to like ? If you back a winner this week don't think it's clever!!!
We need Steve and Dave on the simulator at Bethpage Black. Thanks for the year lads.
