Hi, I’m Luke, the weekend tour pro. I’m an average swing speed mid- handicap golfer. And I’m passionate about producing datadriven, objective, and relatable golf club reviews to help golfers just like you make informed buying decisions. Well, today I’m going to throw some of that objectivity out the window. And I’m going to count down my top five favorite golf clubs released in 2025 and telling you what would be at the top of my list if I was buying some new clubs tomorrow. Let’s get stuck in. Now, before I start my countdown, I just want to call out three key things. Firstly, for a golf club to feature in this top five, it must have been released in the UK in 2025 up to the middle of November when I’m filming this video. And secondly, it must be a product that I’ve tested on this channel during that period. The third thing I want to call out, just in case you’re new to my channel, is I do not have any brand partnerships or paid partnerships, and I’m not influenced by any brands to speak positively about one club or the other. This is just my subjective opinion of what golf clubs I would go out and buy based on having the luxury of testing hundreds of golf clubs over the last couple of years. So, let’s start my countdown with the club that’s come in at number five. Oh, yes. Oh, yes, indeed. So, coming in at number five in my rankings this year is the Ping G440 irons. These are for me the best game improvement irons on the market today and they would be the ones that I would go out and buy tomorrow if I had to. Now some of you that would have watched my bracket saw that I gave this the runners up spot behind the Cobra DS Adapt and that was because that was an objective ranking based on performance and price. I personally would pay the couple hundred pound more which is still a very cheap price point compared to some game improvement irons and buy these over the Cobra DS Adapt. My reasons for that are three-fold. They deliver some really good distance. You also get a really good spin rate for a game improvement iron. Not all irons in that category can do that. And they are incredibly consistent all three times I’ve tested this iron. You also get the benefit of going in for your custom fitting and get a choice between the power, the standard, and the retrospec loft. I’ve got the just standard in my hands today. And I think that’s just another feature that makes these irons a really great option for golfers going in for custom fittings. Now, there’s two things that I personally don’t like about this iron, and it’s the only two things that stop it from being higher up my list. And that’s first of all the badge detail on the back. It’s a modern design, but I’m not the hugest fan of the electric blue. And I don’t like the sound compared to other irons. Yes, Ping have massively improved the acoustics of this iron over the last couple of years, but as you can see from the shot that I’ve just shown you on screen, I’ve hit it right out the center and it does still sound a little bit clicky, a little bit clacky, and it isn’t my favorite sound. I don’t think you’d notice it as much out on the golf course. I’d certainly get used to it for the performance, but that’s the only reason they’re not a little bit higher. Now, if you’re looking for alternatives for the game improvement category, like I’ve touched on already, the Cobra DS adapter is a fantastic option, and I’m also a big fan of the Wilson Dino Power options. Both come in at fantastic price points, and they’ve got some really cool modern looks as well. Let’s move up to number four in my list, which is the only driver in this video. Whoosh. So, coming in at number four is the Wilson Dino Power range. Now, I’m going to caveat this section by saying I’ve not had the luxury of testing loads of drivers on the channel this year, but this is the one that I’ve tested that really impressed me. And there’s a couple of reasons why. First off, the price point. Gone are the days where drivers were £3400. They’re now from the big brands touching £600, which is just an astronomical rise over the space of a couple of years. This driver bucks that trend because the max version is still 399 in the UK and the carbon model, which is the longest driver I’ve ever tested on this channel, is about £450. Now, I think there’s two great options there for mid- handicap golfers. That extra bit of forgiveness from the Max, which is probably what I would lean to having hit it a few times over the year, or that slightly longer model with a little bit less forgiveness in the sake of the carbon. What else I like about this driver is it just looks, this is a nice compliment to give it. It just looks exactly like a tightless driver, which I’m not sure tightless would like that, but it looks fantastic in the bag, fantastic down at a dress. It makes a really nice sound off of the face. And the numbers and performance that I’ve seen out of it, all the times I’ve tested it are as good as anything else out on the market today. And the best validation I can give it is that one of my friends who plays on a minor tour in the UK gave this a test when I had them in my hands, fell in love with it, and has actually put the carbon in play over this season and is seriously impressed. So, if you’re looking for a brand new driver right now and want to buy a new model and want something that’s got great bag appeal, fantastic performance, and doesn’t break the bank as much as the other models, you’ve got to give the Wilson Dino Power Max and Carbon a go. Oh, yes. So, long-term subscribers of the channel are going to be surprised that this iron has only come in at number three because every time I test it, including the previous model, and every time I talk about it, I tell you how much I love it. And it’s the Tailor Made P790. Now, the reasons why I love this iron so much are because it delivers everything you want out of a player’s distance iron. Really good ball speeds, good distances, spin rates, ball flights, a good level of forgiveness, and it has one massive advantage over lots of its competitors. It just looks like a chunky blade. So, it’s absolutely stunning in your golf bag. They’re all the plus points. So, why is it not scored a little bit higher? Well, the iron you’re about to see in a second that’s coming in number two has just one tiny advantage over it. I just can’t imagine being able to combo set this unless I combo seted it with a P770. Now, I’m the type of golfer where I actually need something else above the P790 in the longer irons to give me that little bit of extra forgiveness. I would love to play this in seven, eight, nine iron pitching wedge. But at a five or a six, I just want a little bit more forgiveness and I just can’t combo set it like I can with the iron that’s going to come in at number two. But if you’re going to play a whole set of irons through the bag and you’re looking for a player distance option, if this is not top of your list, I would be really surprised. It’s absolutely fantastic. Maybe in terms of looks, the only thing that can rival it is the new Titus T250. But in terms of performance, I think the only thing that can rival it is the iron that’s coming in at number two. So let’s tell you what it is. Yeah. Yeah. I’m glad I put these at number two. So, coming in at number two is the Stricksen ZXi5. And there’s a reason why they come in at number two. And it’s because of this, the Stricksen ZXi4. Because together, for me and what I need in a set of irons, they are the perfect combo set. They blend seamlessly. They feel fantastic, and they deliver all the performance characteristics that we just spoke. so positively about with the Tailor-Made P790. You get great ball speeds, really good distances, spin rates, ball flights, and the feel of these things is absolutely fantastic. Soft off of the face, and that club and ball just coming together, feels really, really nice in your hands. Now, for me personally, I would get the ZXi4 in a five and six iron combo setup, then seven iron to wedge in the ZedX i5. And I just don’t think I’d ever want to swap my irons out for a really good few years. And if I had to buy a new set of irons tomorrow, yes, I would get custom fit, but I’d be really begging that the fitter tries to prove me why that isn’t the answer for me. Because I absolutely love these irons for so many reasons and would recommend if you not tested them, get them on your test list. If you’re not buying these or the P790, you must have found a really great option for you cuz both are fantastic players distance irons. So, to announce my winner of the best golf club release in 2025, I’ve brought you out to the short game area because the club that’s leading my rankings this year is the Cleveland CBZ Wedge. Now, when I pulled these rankings together, this was always going to be number one on my list because it’s the only golf club this year that’s made its way into my golf bag. That’s how impressed I am with this thing. Now, I would argue that short game wasn’t my biggest strength about 12 months ago, but I’ve invested in a couple of lessons this year. And then adding this to my armory, which has just been the cherry on the top, has really revolutionized my short game. So much so that this is almost exclusively the one club that I want to use when I get from about 60 yards and in around the green. Whether it’s from a different lies, sort of smelly lies out of the thick rough, bare lies around the green, out of the bunker, which used to be my nemesis shot and is now becoming a strength of mine. This thing just does it all. I can hit it high, I can hit it low. I’ve got the confidence. It’s not going to dig. And I would just absolutely recommend it to any mid or high handicapped golfers who maybe struggle their short game and want a confidence inspiring club that’s going to give them all the forgiveness that they need and help them out to lower those scores. The other key thing I want to call out about this golf club is I have put it through its paces on Trackman. And in terms of spin rates, it keeps up with a bladed tight tightless voke wedge. And it’s also more consistent in terms of spin for me than the Voki wedges because I’m getting that forgiveness all across the face on those offc center hits as well. Now, what are the cons to a wedge like this? Well, I think there’s maybe two for me, but I wouldn’t stop me from buying it. First of all, the bounce and the grind options are pre-selected for you from Cleveland, and that’s to deliberately make sure they appeal to the biggest consumer market of what golfers need so we don’t make the wrong choice in our bounce and our grind. And the second thing for me is the price point of this wedge is very similar to a bladed wedge. And therefore, I do think there’s some golfers that maybe won’t take the risk of buying a wedge like this just in case it isn’t for them. And if it was a little bit cheaper, maybe they would. But for me, this is some of the best value that I’ve spent on my golf game in the last couple of years and would absolutely recommend cavity back wedges, but this one in particular to golfers of a mid or high handicap. Now, all that’s left for me to say is if you’ve got some value out of this video and you’d like to return the favor, then all you need to do is hit that thumbs up button. That lets YouTube know that golfers just like you may be interested in watching this video. Equally, if you’re not yet subscribed to my channel, there’s a button popping up for you right now on screen. Press that, hit the bell icon, and you’ll get notified of all my videos as they land on YouTube every single week. Thank you so much for watching. I hope this has helped. Have a great day. Goodbye.

  1. I love those top two selections ⛳💪. Amongst my favourites of the year too. I was in my local big box golf store yesterday and tried the XXIO 13 irons. The irons are very much in the game improvement category. I had never tried XXIO irons before but I gotta say, super impressed. The stock shaft is graphite and very light weight. I just seemed to hit them really well and consistently. Maybe I was just having a good day in the simulator but I'm considering buying a set to leave in Scotland for when we head out of Canada for the winter/spring.

  2. Great video Luke
Best equipment reviews on youtube for sure.
What loft wedge do you use and do you use just the one
for 50 yards in and sand? 😀

  3. Love my ZXi5 irons, great feel consistent distance. My DS Adapt X driver has been great, I also have a Wilson DYNAPWR carbon 4wd that was a revelation for me.
