Recently, I bought Rory Mroyy’s actual irons from the guys at Tailor Made. And today, we’re going to take on our new golf course, Ryder Cup venue in 1957, Lindrich Golf Club, using these clubs. These look absolutely gorgeous, but they are almost impossible to hit. Tailor-made Ross Protos Project X7.0. And as you can see, we’ve pretty much got Rory’s entire setup minus those. What can we score over nine holes? And we also have our Milesy Genie Pro G1 to help us today. Guys, get in the comments below. Can we break? We’re not going to break par. Right guys, so Lindrich Golf Club today. We will pop this in the Mousy Genie Pro G1 and we’ll have a look at the first hole. Now, myself and these Rory irons have a little bit of a Could you say a lovehate relationship, Bob? I love them and they’re not a huge fan of me. They’re insanely high lofted. They’re very, very traditional irons. Obviously, they’re a blade. Here we go. Look, Lindric Golf Club. And we’ll go yellow te. It’s winter, isn’t it? We’re down here on the on the fronts. That’s the only thing that’s in our favor today. The only thing the course is playing a little bit shorter. We’ve got Qi35 in the bag. We’ve got R seven mini driver in the bag. Look how good do they look. By the way, they look absolutely gorgeous. I’ve got Vokis in the bag as well, which touchy subject for Tail Made, but I think he’s using Vokei still, isn’t he? So, you can see here I can just plot how far up the hole I go. If I go 250 yards, that leaves me 153. I’m quite happy with that. Do I try and take it over the bunker? 276. Obviously, I mean, it’s not really 293 into that wind, is it? What I’m trying to say, Bob, is do we go mini driver or driver off this whole mini? Because it’s the first first one, right? This one. This is one of my favorite clubs of all time. Quite a few pros have had this in the bag as well, haven’t they? Fleetwood had it in the bag. I think I have seen videos of Rory testing it, but Rory’s driver is like the best club in his bag, isn’t it? So, he doesn’t really need to be messing about with with that too much. So, we know 250 leaves us one to be fair. 250 with this into this wind. Try and get that little low hookie one up the middle. It’s not hooky, but it’s low up the right. That’ll do. That will play. That was a stiff one and a cold one, but all at the same time. Sounds like a good beer, doesn’t it? Right. Literally, right, we are on the right hand side in the rough. Luckily enough, we’re not too far off line. So, with this obviously, it’s going to tell us 182. Bob, we’ve got left in. That shows how strong that wind is. And if we want to go straight to the flag, 185 playing 183. There’s nothing else we need to know here, is there? It’s just going to take pretty much all we’ve got. So, looking at these, you can see the five irons yet to be used. Um, I’m not going to lie, I think it might be like a chip. Do you think it could be a chippy four or a five? The wind’s more across. I don’t want to take the wrapper off the do. We can’t We can’t live like that, Bob. Can’t we? Bob’s now a caddy as well. So, funnily enough, when you get these, you get this as well. So, it’s a nice little kind of rose proto. That’s if you put it Do I put them in a plaque? That’s what I’m thinking here with me. Now you could have got them in my own specs, but to me that doesn’t really make much sense because like I’m never ever ever God, my hands are so cold. How can I play golf in gloves, Bob? Funny enough, when I have played with these in the past, I’ve actually struck the ball really well. I do feel like it concentrates the mind a little bit and makes you think about what you’re doing. That towel is freezing because I cleared the snow off the car with it this morning. Interesting. Very interesting. Right, we’re short and we are right, Bob. And funnily enough, on the mile seat, you can start to put in your stats and things like that. So, it’s an interesting, you know, whenever I need a glove, I don’t have one. And whenever I need a a poo bag for my dog, I don’t have one. But I always have them when I don’t need them. And the stats, I think, can really, really help. Sit. Oh, I’m really pleased with that. That felt delightful. You can really start to see why golfers like well the best in the world i.e. Rory and Fitzy see Fitzy the other day at Dubai un yeah literally unbelievable. You can see why they use the vocals. They are fantastic. Although I feel like Taylor made a catching vokey up to you because they’re making forged wedges that feel fantastic and still perform incredibly well. And anyone who can do that they’re always going to be there or thereabouts, aren’t they? Are we there yet? So, the only real club I’ve got in here that isn’t Rory’s is me putter. Just to be honest, this HS we’ve gone through a sticky patch, but you’d have to prize this out of my cold alive hands. Got my son’s name on it. Look, little things in it. So, we could do with this performing well for us today really just to to help said we needed a hot one. Bob said we needed a hot one. That’ll do nicely. So, as you can see, moving on to the next hole. It’s asking us what we got. So, it was a four. It was one put. It was a fairway miss to the right. Complete. So, you can go on the app and you can actually download it all and and like work on your stats and stuff, which I think’s really really good. Then I love that it just moves you straight on to the next hole. So 315. Click on this little button here. I can start to plot it again. So I only need to hit it really. If we hit 240, that leaves us less than 100. And that like how far is it to the hazard? The hazard’s 195. So you can really start to like kind of plot for me. It t it takes away any real pressure. Lots of people can sit there and moan at home and say, “We can’t play cuz it’s cold.” Not me, Bob. I love this. Right. So, honest thoughts about these. When it’s a lovely day and it’s like 15, 20°, not a problem. Can hit them feel like it kind of channels you’re in a I say no, it doesn’t. No, I’m not saying Rory because that’s sad. But it does channel like a better ball striking mentality. A day like today that’s freezing 30 mph winds and we wipe snow off the car this morning. Just like a set set of pings, G440s or something P790s. Way more enjoyable. Same shot. It literally is like the same shot, isn’t it? He can’t do it again, can he, Bob? It’s just on a bit of a down slope, which doesn’t help. It’s not bad. I don’t know why I’ve aimed so far left there. I felt like it might cber back, but the strike was good and the distance was good. So, I’m just going to hit driver. As long as I don’t go left, we’re okay. Qi35 driver core model. Rory didn’t have this in the bag for long. I tried the LS and it was like you can see my T- mark there. Look straight down it. Like the LS is good. It’s very hard to hit. But I think having the movable weights in here in the core model like I’ve got the 13 g weight at the front there. So that works with that through slot speed pocket and the lightweight at the back means that the MOI is pushed forward or the CG’s push forward. So the MOIS What does that do to the driver head, Rob? If the CG’s forward reduce MOI love it. Oh no. Three holes in and he’s out of coffee. So he needs a piss. I have no feeling in my hand. I can’t find it. Stunning like a young Bert Reynolds. You better hope to God you’re editing this and not me. Personal highlight that. I’ve never carried that. I mean, I know it’s like a 30 m hour wind behind us, but was a decent one, that one. So, this is where this can come in really handy. Obviously, this is telling us the distance to the actual green. Like I said, it’s a winter hole because the green’s down in a quarry. There’s the weather, there’s the clubs, and there’s the fact I’m just a little bit. So, like there’s all that going off cuz I feel like I’m not delivering the club correctly for the lie angle. So, we’ve got spin ax is tilted a little bit. I’ll get that divot as well. Obviously, it’s windy and cold and we just need to book our ideas up. Bob got a beaver tail, though. Well, it’s a green in red, Bob. But that’s pretty much all I can say about it. I think it was a nine iron. It’s funny cuz you look at the number or in this case the letter on the bottom of the clubs and you think, “Oh, 130 wedge.” But these aren’t like normal normal lofts, are they? It was bang on the flag as you can see, but it’s just come back a bit. So, it’s a greening rag finally, but not really a chance. be right to left. [Music] Go on then. Go on then. Go on then. But in the conditions today, it’s not going to be not going to be the case, is it? You’d be happy if you hit that when you want to get one of Gaza that fresh tea. Oh, that’s right. I’ve s that is going to go nowhere. It’s the first real bad one we’ve hit with driver. I saw a big draw in my head and we got a big horrible blocky fade. It’s not the worst place. I mean, it’s not what we wanted, Bob. I’ll not lie to you. How far have we got in here? You know, I said at the silver birches. I didn’t like physically mean at the silver birches. I think I smashed the absolute nuts off a four iron in that studio and got 205. So four iron’s begging to be 50 yards short in it. Just waited for the green keepers. We’ve stiffened up a bit though, aren’t we? That’ll be good. That’s exactly what I wanted it to do. I reckon that’s perfect. I mean, I’m not sure it’s exactly how this club was designed to be hit, but a little duffy one down there at 200 and odd should be perfect. I think that’s like the best shot of the day. And I’m I’m really annoyed it’s not come with Rory’s irons. It’s come with the mini driver. But hopefully that rescues us a four birdie the next battle for a par on nine. And I think like I we have just literally battled, haven’t we? It’s been but you know we’ve not done gone in the car park and turned around and gone home. That’s character that Bob I think. Bob, we have another ball in our pocket cuz we’ve gone and done some driver testing, haven’t we? While uh while the guys were busy on that green. See, that’s lie angle though. That is just like you never try and play a draw into that wind. Done it again. It’s a good strike, but that’s all I’ll say about them really. Another miss green left. Rory, I mean it’s flag high, isn’t it? But that’s about all we can say about it. 56. Is that just going to like release away from me as soon as I it lands play that better? You can’t. I struck that. So nice. Come on. Roll that in. And then you have a chance at the last, haven’t you? Which is over there. That guy’s chipping like Bill Nicholson. Some of the par put Bob a like what? This has been like the irons have been a disaster, haven’t they? Today I felt like the first time I took him out, I played really well with him and it’s just getting worse and worse and worse. 10°. It was 10° probably 15° warmer. Get in. Get in. There’s definitely been a resilience today, which is nice. Would have been nice if Gaz was here to play, wouldn’t it, Gary? Too cold. Right. So, things are getting complex because now I need to put a score in for the 11th, which was a three and a one put. And then we’ll scroll back to the eighth. We actually had some nice drives down nine, didn’t we, Bob? I’ve literally We’ve left the bag there. It’s mini driver and we’re going to commit to it. We’re going to hit it on the green. If we eagle it with two under, which today is insane. If we double boge it with two over. Does the wind switch round? This feels into, doesn’t it? I can’t see a flag to help us. Can you see that flag there? What’s that doing? It’s into, isn’t it? It’s as good as I’ve got, but it’s not really launched high enough. I reckon that’s in the front bunker. And that’s what you get for leaving your bag all the way down there in a a sudden 90 degree change of wind, Bob. No, 180 change of wind. Where is it? It was online with the flag, but there’s no way it’s carried that bunker. It’s too flat a flight. But this is what it comes down to. And you know what? We could have stayed at home. It’s in the bunker there. Look, we could have stayed at home today. But I’ve loved this. Have you had a good day, Bob? The Rory’s irons always throw up bit of a a curve ball. Do I go 60 or 56 here? That is sat up like a coconut in it. The course is in incredible condition. I’m going to move that little stone. Sit. Sit. Sit. Sit. Spin. It’s not terrible. It was set up a little bit too much. And the last thing I wanted to do was, you know, I just leave it where it was. It’s not really a chance, is it? But it’s a greening rag. It’s not what we wanted for birdie, is it? Funny thing is, you know, if we hit either a better flighted mini driver or an actual driver, we probably carry that bunker and we’ve got this for the second shot. Really good hole that really good thought out design. You’ve left it short. You’ve left it short to break par in one of the hardest days out here. But that is a really well battled level par on what’s ended up being a bit of a different loop of nine holes, but essentially a front nine here at Lindric using Rory’s clubs.
