Hey everyone, welcome back to the channel. Today is all about Shrixson. We’ve got two brand new products out. This is the embargo date. Obviously, we’ve had them on the robot. We’ve had them in the 3D scan. We are going to give you the information you need to understand these brand new products. Mark, what are the two that we’ve got? Well, we got the new ZXIR and the ZXIR HL. Lot of words there and I got confused with that. kind of saw the first take obviously, but those are the new clubs and and they’re definitely playing off the fact that they’ve had a lot of success with the first three, right? The the seven, the five, and the four. Yep. Um these look very similar. There’s a little more forgiving obviously. Uh a little little lower price point. Um but they kind of look like they’re part of the same set, right? I mean, if you look at them here, and we got them on camera, and we’ll get some B-roll for you. The four the four was the one that stood out a little bit last year because it has that that back filled in a little bit more. But if you look at these N. So we got five in my right hand and then R and RHL. Yeah, you can all be in the same bag and you wouldn’t notice. So you certainly could blend these with long irons with the five and even with a 75 and then into these as well. So okay, well let’s jump into a bit of the cadence. What we’re going to do, we’re going to find out all about these irons. So we’ve tested the brand new two at 70 mph. We actually have tested the four and five at 70 mph in previous tests and I’m just giving you an Easter egg there. go back through all the videos in our channel, find it, and hunt down the the charts that you want. But we’re going to hit those at 70 mph. And then we are going to show you the 3D scan data. And then we’ve got the 80 mph test impact from center shots. And we’ve got the dispersion chart. And I think that’s a big one to talk about today. But first things first, caveat. We we’ve shot this prior to being here. Mark and I have been on this crazy convention, find out about all of the New Year’s clubs, and these naming conventions got swept swapped around when we filmed this. So, this is going to say that it’s the um ZXIR, but this is the HL getting hit at 70 mph. Let’s go with that. Okay, so we got 95 miles an hour of ball speed and we’re going to show a a chart after this. So, we’ll see what that that land angle washes out to be and the spin differences. And now, let’s jump in and hit the actually the R, right? And it’s not the HL, it’s the R. So, we’re trying to beat 95. Yeah. 98 miles. So, three miles an hour more ball speed there. Right. Okay, now let’s check out this chart. And remember, hopefully Austin can do something with the power of editing to exactly point to these naming conventions being the opposite way around, but we saw club speed was both both the same. The R was 3 mph faster. Sorry, 2 and a half miles an hour faster. And we got 500 RPM difference. Yeah, that’s quite a bit actually, right? So at 70 mph, the HL really comes into play. I mean the the R itself, you know, spinning at 3,800 and landing at, you know, 39°, it’s kind of pushing it, right? I mean, yeah, it’s strong and it’s also not going to stop. So, at 70 mph, you, you know, unless you hit the ball really high, you know, obviously different people attack it differently, whether you got the shaft leaned forward, hit it low, or like me and hit everything up in the air and pick it clean, you know, maybe, maybe they are, but looks like, you know, get down to 70 mph, you’re probably in the HL. And that’s what Shrixen are up to, right? They’re basically saying that they they drag the center of gravity low in that R. Do the best job they can with launch. 20 20 1/2° launch from 28 1/2°. So, we’ll get into the lofts in a minute, but I basically the ZXIR and the ZXi4 are the same loft package and the five and the 5HL get close. I don’t think they’re exactly the same. Um, but you get a ton of speed nearly that 100 mph barrier, which is always a fun one because basically ballistics start to matter, right? Um, and you get lots more control with the with the R. So, I think let’s try and break down like what are the benefits? Why why would someone just not continue playing the four or the five? Why would they might go to the R and the RHL? And we’ll use the 3D scan data to try and understand that a little. Okay. Yeah. So, let’s jump into that. What What’s going on here? The biggest call is probably that blade length increase on these two new Absolutely. Yeah. And it looks a little friendlier longer heel to toe. I mean, the four is, you know, a little bit longer than the five and the seven, but it still looks kind of short. U So, these definitely look bigger. Um, but not not ugly by any means. I mean, the top line’s not hugely thicker by any means. You know, it’s not horrible. Um, but they’re definitely longer heel to toe, which is a big part of it. And obviously in the HL, you get quite a bit bigger footprint, too. Right. Which is nice. Yeah, absolutely. And, you know, HL typically is going to be either lower speed or somebody hits it low, right? So the guys that hit it low at higher speed are typically hitting it down on it quite a bit. Um so they need a bigger footprint so it doesn’t dig into the ground. Yeah. And we talked about this. I I did this off camera. I’ve been in a whole email thread with Dr. Tom Max. So you look at the bounce numbers there. Yeah. We saw that four and the HL are like low and the five and the R are kind of higher. We take the bounce measurement right through the center of the sole. Right. So, this is the only club that sticks out as a weird one because it’s basically taking the incline of the leading edge and the decline of the trailing edge and averaging it. So, the real truth is that the leading edge on all of these models is a much higher bounce number than all of those. It’s just the fact that when you wash the two together, that’s what you get. And you get some aggressive trailing edge relief on these two bigger footprints because they’re saying if you get too much bounce on these things, the club can’t lay back. The lead off ground. Exactly. So, that’s the answer there. If you’re looking for another number, come and see us. We have all the real numbers of the leading edge relief, but the the average bounce is what you’re looking at there, right? Um and the other one to call out is offset on the HR. I think that’s a great Yeah, absolutely. Um you know, obviously, you know, people hit down on it. Uh a little more offset is going to help you square up the face obviously, you know, helps a fade a little bit. Um yeah, that’s the biggest thing. And then and you’re getting a bit more offset if you look at the four and the R compared five and the HL compared. Both of those comparative models, you get a little more help squaring the club up. And I guess these are what they’re for. And like you said, they’re a lower price point. So there’s like a little snuffle to pushing you towards these. Yeah. So lower quality, but obviously not fully forged and stuff. So there’s uh you know, obviously different material. And there’s some advantages, different material. You can make hotter face. Hotter. Yeah. Yeah. So well, let’s find out about hotter. Let’s jump over to the um 80 mph center impact shots here. First call out. Like I said, four and the five have got the same loft. Sorry, four and the R have the same loft. Five in the HL. HL’s got one and a half degrees more loft than than the five. Yeah, remember that when we get to dispersion chart. But basically, you can see for that one and a half degrees more loft and 80 miles an hour, you get exactly the same distance if not a yard more, whatever you want to call out. So, I think this HL is going to be a big hit. It really is cuz I mean, look at the five, which has been a super popular car for us, right? Yeah, exactly. Seven and five. Definitely sold a ton of those and we sold quite a few fours as well. Um, but this HL versus the five is, you know, it’s pretty impressive, right? It’s a yard longer. It’s going four yard four feet higher, right? It’s actually, you know, you lost basically, you know, 100 RPMs, 100 200 RPMs, not measure much. And land angle is pretty much the same at 48. So, you know, longer, higher, why not? You know, that that’s what we’re looking at. So, I think the difference here is not necessarily about ballistic. It’s just a slightly different delivery pattern, right? a little more offset in the HL, a little shorter blade length in the five. So the five lends to someone who can work the ball a little bit more. Absolutely. You know, you’re a better player and or even, you know, you could even have a better player in the R as well, you know, so and they’re just going to get more up if they don’t hit it high enough. We need that in a fitting bay, right? How many times do we stand there and look at these like bigger clubs and it’s like, if only this thing had a little more loft on it. And this has got a great loft package. Yeah. The loft’s not that bad. I mean, 32 and a half is not, you know, super low and it’s still going pretty good distance. I love it. Yeah. And then if you look at the R, that’s just a powerhouse, right? We know the four has been like that. And I will say that I think the R um it just it’s it’s going to be like a a four a big challenge to the four, right? Because you’re really looking at a similar player. The four was was the biggest package out of the the three options that you said. We put in some long irons for sure for better players as well. Um but this is a pretty straight replacement, right? I mean, you’re getting four more yards, you’re getting it higher, you’re losing a little bit of spin, but not a lot. So to your point earlier, new materials, you can make them hotter. We got exactly the same loft package and we got half a club more. Yep. And higher. This this thing that’s a pretty good win there. It’s going to be a great It’s going to be a tough sa for other than for better players and long ironers, you know, but it’s be hard to beat that. R is definitely an improvement all the way around, right? Yeah. Here’s a little prediction. I think the R is going to be one of our better clubs going forward. Yeah, I think it will actually. I mean, if you look at, you know, our bestselling clubs over the last couple years, you know, it’s it’s kind of in that, you know, the T350 has been one of our bestselling clubs or T300 before. You know, you got a lot of senior golfers that were good players at one point in time, but need some help. You know, these look pretty clean and they’re right in that same wheelhouse. The 350 is 29°, the R is 28. Like, they’re they’re in the same definitely in the same ring, that’s for sure. Okay. Well, let’s look at the real fun stuff. Let’s jump in and take a look at the uh dispersion chart data for these clubs. And I think this is where things are really going to open up. People going to be excited about getting into stores and trying the ZXI and R ZXI R and RHL ions. I mean, I haven’t even seen this yet. So, well, wow, they’re pretty good. All of them, right? If you look at all Yeah, they’re all good. And we did a podcast the other a while ago about the the tow strikes of the Shrix on, right? Well, it looks like these are better in the tow strikes with this new material construction or design. And also we’ve also got a little bit more room on this club. So the toe on these is not as far. Yeah. Anytime you have a longer blade, obviously we go off center, you know, uh 6 mm, you know, out or whatever. And 10 actually on, you know, the further we go out, the longer the club is, the more weights on the other side. So it definitely helps for sure. And the same thing with a golf ball, right? You hit the ball on the toe and you have a longer club, you’re better off. There’s more mass out there. So that’s that’s a note to you guys out there. you know, if you if you’ve seen the Stricks on Iron product before, and I we had a bunch of comments like, “Yeah, I’ve seen the tow strike not be as good, or these these are going to give you a bit better from that same misit in the toe.” And then back to Mark’s point that’s been coming out all year is about where that bounce sits and center of gravity. You can see in that R version, it it’s longer all the way across the board from every single strike than the four and the thin is a little bit further up. And the RHL when this bounce gets reduced a little bit, the thin shot behaves like it should. Yeah. Drops off a little bit. Yeah. So, I just think you’re looking at two really good golf clubs. The the packages are are tidy. They look like they’re part of the family. Just because they’re cheaper, it doesn’t look like you’re getting a cheaper. No, it doesn’t at all. Yeah. And the performance is like stellar. That HL with all of that spin at that speed. Yeah. I think we might actually sell some of those. We haven’t done really well with HL’s in general, right? I mean, we probably should sell twice or three times as many as we do. And that’s just simply for the fact that people want to hit it further. as much as you can talk to them about, okay, you can hit it further, but you can’t stop it. You know, they still want to hit it further. So, but this one actually pretty long. It’s not super short. I mean, it’s, you know, it’s a fairly strong loft. It’s not, you know, crazy short. No. Um, but I think we’ll actually get quite a few people in that one. Yep. And the especially lower speed getting 170 yard carry out of 80 mph with the R. That’s a long way. On my swing 80, I don’t have anywhere near that far. So, it’s basically what people at 90 mph are getting. So, it’s it’s really really good package. Very exciting year for Shrexon. They’re already coming off the back of this huge cadence with tour wins and everybody kind of being hyped up. They’ve done really well in the last couple years. Yeah. Now they’re filling in the gaps for every man. It’s like this might be Shrixon’s year for the Irons. Yeah. They really didn’t have anything in that wheelhouse. You know, Cleveland did years ago, but they’ve kind of taken care of that, but it’s not that they got kind of a complete family. And there’s not a ton of clubs here. You know, they’ve got obviously the Blade, they got the three forge clubs. I mean, it kind of include the four in that group and then these two. So, it’s not like they got millions of them. No. Uh, and that’s enough to cover just about everybody. There you go. But the key to this always, we give you the data. We let you decide. We let you jump in the comments. What’s name of new zxi7 ? Are they revealed
How do these new cast heads feel compared to a ZX4 though? I have a blended set of ZX7/5/4. I totally hate how the 4s feel. It's so tinny and harsh. Dunno if they changed that for the ZX mk2 or ZXis. Are these new ZXiRs basically the replacements for the Cleveland Zipcore XLs?
How different are these from the Cleveland zipcore xl?
Love to see you guys growing and improving. You do awesome work for the consumer!
Could you provide a legend for where "toe" contact is vs "center" on the club face. Thanks!
why does srixon have the hardest names ever…..maybe in Japan it all sounds easier for them!
Can loft be adjusted slightly with this new alloy? Can the loft go -1° (stronger) and lie +1° up ??
how is the R going higher than the HL @2:43 that doesnt make any sense…. isnt the HL high loft launch the ball higher with more spin but in the charts it completely opposite
HL irons are in my future!!! Same custom shaft options as current irons?
You have the best reviews by far. Not even close!
