And fairway found 115 green light flag. Have to find this fairway to get this anywhere near this tight pin. Something like that then. Just about like that. You’d have preferred a little bit more straight up the hill. This is across the slope. That’s almost a collector’s item for Fitzpatrick. He doesn’t miss many of those and he’ll have to settle for a rather disappointing pass, so he stays two behind. Matthew Fitzpatrick, like so many others, just uh playing for position on the 11th. It’s only a fraction over 400 yards this par four. So that’s fine. Massive conversation between player and caddy. Really couldn’t make up their mind here. Looking to hit this down slope. He’s flown all the way. He won’t be happy. There was a late club change. Think Caps is clear. He might scare the hole here. That’s a lovely slow motion image. Fitzpatrick steps up, taps in, makes his part. Ideally, you want to draw it. A healthy 179 mph ball speed for Fitzpatrick who’s worked hard on this part of the game and getting his speed up over the years. The Trackman numbers for you. 12th Hall Fitz middle of the freeway. Oh, please just give me a good number. Please give me a good number. He’s asking for a good number. It’s good. It’s good. He fits. When you hit it that close on 12, you’ve hit two good shots to get within a couple. Wouldn’t give the hole away here. Just slightly hurting at the minute. 13. Don’t get near this flag. Trying to play a high cut. Oh, that’s a nice little bounce from Fitzpatrick. allow this to get a little bit closer to the leadup. So, Fitzpatrick now to climb within one. All of a sudden, he can’t hold a putt. Very unfitike. as we go to the 14th T and Matthew Fitzpatrick. Will it hold on down the right hand side? Need to bounce. Tight flag on a Sunday. Always here at 14. Water in play. That looked like a nice controlled swing. That’s a fine shot. That’s extremely good for the short iron there to a tight pin cross the grain. He’s missed chances like this at 10 12 and four 13. That’s better. Yeah, at this time Wally, he’s back on the birdie trail. His first since hole number five. And Fitzpatrick is not out of this yet either. He joins the group just one behind. This has to be past the flag. Hello. Almost too strong. Perfect for distance. That’s a good shot. Well, his power and distance being on the fairway. You can attack. He waited for Rory. This should edge right, but not much. Another bird for Matthew Fitzpatrick. two in a row at 14 and 15. And he climbs alongside Caner and Maroy at the top. Oh, it’s good now. What a T-shot. And look at that run Fitzpatrick can generate. That’s perfect. Trying to hit that pantry at the back of the green. Little bit of spin on the slope to take it down. He’s got a little bit deep in the green there. It’s safe. Outside chance. Good T- shot. Sadly not taking advantage. Here’s right to left, but it’s almost pushing it right early. It’s very easy to overdo this. Hang it out to the right. That’s mean some high quality golf from Fitzpatrick on this back nine. First things first, find this target. It’s small. Brilliant Darren shot in front from Fitzpatrick. He’s looked really strong on this back nine right to left early sort of straightening but don’t see it tracking back really. It might continue to move. It’s always a hard putt up this slope to judge. He’s hammered it through the brake on the right side as well. Little over cautious. Yeah, it’s a weird one. The pharaoh is far wider up that left side, but everything cambers towards the water, right and left. Take your pick. I think he can smash the 3-wood as hard as he likes. And he’s going to land in the wider area of the fairway. Just I think, isn’t it? Yeah. I don’t think he’s caught it as well, unfortunately. I think he’s necked it slightly. So, it is going to be a huge second shot for him. All right. Short right. Is it short right or is it pin high right? Just short of the bunker. Andrew, that’s a good lead. He’s given himself a great chance. downgrain makes it so much easier. It will release on impatrick. Oh, there’s the built-in release, but has it got as much of it? Oh, that’s that’s excellent under the circumstances. Anybody was watching early play today, he had a similar up and down on the first and second. Two brilliant shots and that was a third one. Brilliant. Wonderful round of golf on Sunday to close out possibly his season. Maybe for the win as well. 66 for Fitzpatrick. Bogey free and he now has set the target which only Nie Pison and Mroy can hope to catch. [Applause] It’s going to be in the rough and it depends how it’s sitting. We can’t see it behind the trees. We’re probably going to sit down and there’ll be a layup from there. Oh, well, maybe not. Good light. Easy. Laying up. Easy. Goodness me. You heard him say there. Just heard him say it’s come out spinny. Well, well, well. We’ve seen a few players over there today and they haven’t found it too difficult from over there. But of course a lot more pressure now. So he does catch the slope. Super tidy. Very very tidy. Well played, Mat Patrick. And Matthew Fitzpatrick has this part to win his third DP World Tour Championship. A hattick is secured for Fitzpatrick and a nice finish to his year as well which started so poorly but has certainly come good in the second half. [Applause] Matthew, many congratulations on winning the DP World Tour Championship 2025. Your third win in this championship. your first win in two years, your second Rolex Series event. Just tell us just how good this feels, what it means to you. It means the world. Yeah, it means the world. I mean, you know, struggled at the start this year obviously and um you know, to turn it around in the summer like I did and have a rider cup like I did. It’s, you know, Ryder Cup in particular, I feel like it’s hard to top um given everything. But, you know, the way that I played today, I, you know, I feel like I really hit like one one bad shot all day. So, you know, I’m just so so proud of myself, you know, the effort that everyone puts in behind the scenes, you know, my team and stuff. It’s um yeah, what a feeling. What a feeling. Eight pars in a row in the middle of the round, three behind with six to play. How did you turn it around? How did you shoot three under over those last few holes and then make that difficult up and down at the last to walk away as champ? Yeah, I know. I mean, I’d not been hitting it amazing uh all week. I kind of really hit it well yesterday and and I would say I hit it really well today and um you know Dan was insistent on being patient all day and just letting the pots come and you know like you say in the middle of round there nothing really was going my way and then uh you know managed to roll a couple in late and and get yourself in position. Your thoughts when Rory was coming up the 18th you’ve got to believe he’s going to hold this but in your mind were you really thinking that? Of course you do. Yeah it’s uh he’s probably one of the only few um that you know that you’re going to a playoff. you know, you’re too clear, we want to play and you know, you’re going to a playoff. So, um, you know, in typical Rory fashion, you know, he did it again and obviously, you know, you never like to see it to the way it ends. But, um, obviously delighted. From the middle of 2024 to the middle of 2025, you didn’t have a top 10 for 11 months. Is this a win for Perseverance? Is this a win for Mark Blackburn’s work with you? Uh, yeah, it’s a, you know, it’s a it’s a win for everyone. It really is. It’s, you know, Dan, Dan’s gone above and beyond in the effort that he’s put in in this team. You know, my performance director Lou Mackey has done awesome. Phil Kenyon’s amazing. um you know, strength coach Andrew, every everyone in the team is really I feel like has come come together and um you know, I couldn’t be couldn’t be happier and and obviously in that down period, you know, had the support of of my my wife and my friends and family and it to to turn it around and and be here now is very special. Many many congratulations DP World Tour champion 2025. Thanks, Tim. Thank you. [Music] I can see the winner of the DP World Tour Championship from England is Matt Fitzpatrick. 1. Every shot … except his second on the 14th out of the light rough? And his drive on 15. And the tap in on 16. And holing out on 17. But thanks.
