This weekend was a big one for both Charlie Woods and Kai Trump. Charlie Woods and his high school golf team were playing in the state championship. Kai Trump, meanwhile, was playing in her first-ever LPGA Tour event. Things went drastically different for the two young golfers, though.

Charlie Woods sinks a hole-in-1.
Charlie Woods and his high school, The Benjamin School, won the Florida Class 1A State Championship on Saturday. Woods shot the low round among all golfers in the final day. He finished fourth overall as his school won for the second time in three years.

“Tiger Woods was in tow as Charlie, a junior, shot a four-under-par 68 on Saturday at the Mission Inn Resort in Howey-in-the-Hills, and Benjamin scored a five-shot victory in the two-day event. The school won the state championship two years ago when Charlie was a freshman,” Golf Digest wrote.
“Woods, who has yet to make a choice for his college, tied First Academy senior Mingbo Jiang, a USC commit, for the day’s best score. It was Jiang who won the state individual title by three shots over Benjamin’s Andrew Tsar. Woods, 16, scored two under overall and tied for fourth.”

Kai Trump, meanwhile, had a drastically different day
Kai Trump, meanwhile, finished in last place in her first-ever LPGA Tour event. She missed the cut after Friday’s round. She was granted a sponsor’s exemption to play in the tournament.
The granddaughter of President Trump finished at +18 over two days.
Still, she was grateful for the experience.
“What an incredible honor and opportunity to compete in my first LPGA Tour Event at @theannikalpga ! This week was an absolute dream come true. There are so many amazing people I want to thank for making it happen and for being so supportive. A huge thank you to the ,Doyle Family, @annikas59 , the entire staff at the Pelican Golf Club, Dan Towriss and his team at @gainbridgelife , and Tim Erensen and his team at @teamoutlyr . You all made this week so special for me. It was a lifelong dream to play in a LPGA event, and this is just the start. I learned so much about my game and myself out there. I was so impressed by all the LPGA players I met and got to watch as well. I’m going to use this experience to keep growing as a person and as a golfer. Thank you all for the support! 🫶,” she wrote.
