Tour pro, Zac Blair, who built the Tree Farm in Aiken, SC is offering plebs a chance to play his exclusive club the week of the Masters. Greens fees are $850 and, after an additional $140 caddy fee, you’re looking at $1000 for a round of golf.

I’m reminded quite frequently that I play a much more blue collar version of this game. Watching someone spend my rent money on a round of golf is simply a different world.
Pretty sure it was $650 or $699 plus caddie last year. It’s absolutely ridiculous. It’s a cool place, but it’s not a $1,000 course. Even the normal guest rate with a member is around $300. Meanwhile, Old Barnwell guest fee is like $150.
It’s the Masters, is this surprising?
An unaccompanied guest at one of my clubs is like $225 + $140 for a caddie. On a random Wednesday. Not near Augusta Georgia, on Masters week.
Last I heard Tree Farm is ~$150k downstroke, no dues, but members pay for lodging and tee times when they play. Amortize that over 150 rounds and members are still paying more.
Doesn’t seem too unreasonable given the timing and member cost.
Lots of other courses are Augusta are doing this and there are guys who dont blink at the prices they just want to play and brag.
Plus all the pro shop swag with the club logos.
Lol. Playing pebble for less than that 2 weeks later
He’s totally gonna use these funds to build The Buck Club! I’m sure of it this time!
I bought one of these
It the masters week if you’re already spending $$$$ to be there what is another $1000?
What’s special about this that it’s worth that much? They have tree farms here but you usually can’t play golf at them.
Be more fun to shell out the $1600 for a foursome at Palmetto club in Aiken instead.
And they’ll sell out.
The motel 6 in town also charges like $700/night that week when it’s probably 50-60 rest of the year. It’s a different economy.
I paid $200 to play a course in the middle of South Carolina during Masters week. 2 hours away and they had “Masters week pricing”. Course was jam packed too. Completely regret it too.
probly already sold out
But it includes free lunch!
I live in Athens Georgia. Hours from Augusta. We have to enter a lottery to play here. It’s fucking dumb. I just wanna golf
And I bet it’s already 90% booked
What’s hilarious about it?
Tee sheet will be completely full. As it will be at all the surrounding courses like Old Barnwell that do the same thing.
Remember when ZB got on NLU and described how it was a place built for the love of the game; acting so noble and altruistic…? Pepperidge Farms Remembers.
word on the street is that Tree Farm is really struggling right now.
I’d pay 500 if it included food and drinks . Name your price
My brother in law works at Augusta national and my sister works at another country club in the area. She said the week of the master they are semi open to the public and it’s $5k to play a round that week.
Now that I’m living off med school loans I think a $50 is expensive
ZB, I thought better of you
This an April fools joke?
I would love to golf at an extremely fancy or well-to-do golf club but I can’t spend the cash. Muni courses in Denver only run me $56 for 18.
This seems similar I am sure to everywhere the tour goes. We sit it in Scottsdale/Phoenix this week of and the week after the WMPO. Courses triple in price all over the valley.
They do this every year. And every year the price goes up by like 20% and they continue to sell out.
They will sell every time and have a long wait list
Columbia, SC here. Forget paying that much. Forest Hills, Bertram Trail, and Mount Vintage are three excellent courses within the immediate Augusta vicinity.
Thought Tree Farm was built for the love and passion of the game? Everything is a cash grab nowadays
He deleted comments on the post, safe to say people were probably roasting the fuck out of these prices
How many bags is caddie working? One? Because there’s no fucking way a forecaster is pulling $560
The Tree Farm just isn’t for me, man
plenty of corporate buyers. I paid 700 to play fox chapel during US Open
Tee times will still fill up. Why? Because a lot of the 0.1% enjoy these golf events and will pay that pocket change to play. Then you have the other people are book tee times on daddy’s money.
They know what they are doing. I’m just surprised it’s only 1k and not double that. Not even joking.
