Caitlin Clark made headlines on Wednesday as she competed in the LPGA Pro-Am for The Annika Driven by Gainbridge at Pelican Golf Club in Tampa Bay.
Clark participated in nine holes alongside her Fever teammates Lexie Hull and Sophie Cunningham, who supported her throughout the day as part-time caddies. She also had the chance to play with one of the brightest stars in women’s sports and the world’s No. 2-ranked golfer, Nelly Korda.
Several clips of Clark and Korda went viral throughout the day, showcasing impressive shots from both athletes. But before the event even began, Korda surprised Clark with a special gift: her new line of Nike shoes, set to launch later this month. Clark became one of the very first people to get her hands on a pair.

Korda spoke about the moment she gifted Clark the shoes, revealing that Clark had one clear question: whether they would make her golf game better.
“[Caitlin] did ask me if they’re going to make her golf better, and I was like, guaranteed,” said Korda, who is gearing up for the main event at The ANNIKA this week, where she is a three-time winner.

Clark spoke about what it meant to play alongside an athlete like Nelly Korda.
“I actually grew up playing a little bit,” Clark said. “I remember for one of my birthdays I got this cute little set of pink golf clubs… and then kind of stopped playing. During COVID, I picked it back up in college.
“I think it just shows how powerful supporting one another can truly be, and I’ve always been a big advocate of that — supporting women’s sports. So it’s really fun to see [Nelly] do her craft up close and see how good she is… she just makes the game of golf look really easy, and I’m rooting for her to win this week.”
