I could I Wow, that was the quickest one of the day. If you could pick out one moment from the RDER Cup, what would it be? And why is it the bus at the end? Um, no, look, the bus is incredible. And I think like growing up playing all team sports and you get where I’m from, you’re always traveling long distances. So, yeah, bus journeys home after a win are always special. Um, so that bus journey was I mean I thought Rome was good, but that bus journey in New York just it beat it. Yeah, this is the wind is coming so you might not be able to fly you. See, there you go. Help me, please. Very important for sure. Okay. Yeah, like I think thanks for joining us. Yeah, got me. I actually got the second green. I was like, did I get any rather than it’s all coming on. Yeah. Yeah. Keep the helmets on because then we’ve got the mics in the exact and then we’ll do the lines like Yeah. Because I’m I can’t be there and here at the same time. Yeah. What you doing? Nice to see you. You okay? We are going to get you miked up in a suit Well, check out just walk out. 16 seconds. That was unbelievable. Yeah. So cool. Like so cool. It’s you’re going towards these corners and you’re like, is she going to break? Is she going? And then just the brakes are so good and you slow down so fast into the corners. It’s amazing. I’ll tell you that if you work one day with uh uh you call in Montgomery Montgomery and somebody else then they were talking Well, he’s done. Oh, close. Try. No, I don’t. Just the speed. Yeah, that’s good. Okay, take it on. Good part. At least I make my Yeah, that is with him. Crazy. If I can get Fitzy, that’d be great. Yeah, he played earlier and it was less wind earlier, wasn’t it? Yes, actually. That is true. Yeah. That was 11.5, was it? So yeah, you would go into fourth place. That’s nice. 293 carry as well. Yeah, I’ll take it. Take it deep in the fence. Patrick only hit a curvature 5 foot. That’s it. Try to straight as straight as possible. Where do you think you can go? Five. You think you can get five? Not bad, is it? Take it. Take it. Michael Kim didn’t have the best. Nice. That’s good. Yeah. Very nice. What’s your guess? I think that’s Tell you what, I think that could beat it. Where is it? 28 left. No, the Jackman’s broken, mate. Is that on normal life? No, it’s got a petrol. It’s more of a iconic event and um it’s special for me that I’ve been able to win it in the past. Probably have a better chance this time of the year. Um and yeah, there are I mean this this is one that I’ve been close to winning and and haven’t. Can we No more lift commentary. Uh what’s going on? So, traditionally what we’re doing is we’re setting up for a podcast. This is the tough part. We found a little room, so not much space for all the camera gear, but get everything sorted so that when the player comes in, we’re ready to rock and roll. Here we go. All right. Feel fresh for you. Cheers, bully. Oh, yeah. Cheers. Did you just go to write a cup as a fan? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I guess just to move like the blood so it like you get more blood flow at the end after when you when you get out and then recovers faster I guess. That’s what they say. That’s what they say. That’s what they say. My feet are in bits. So I don’t put my hands in there. Hello. Four minutes. That’s me. Oh, thank you very much. Hello and welcome to an immaculate Yas links in the 20th anniversary of the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship. Today the playoffs begin. You get the winter off then after next week. Uh no, I go to South Africa and then uh I’m doing the Winter Olympics. Sun City. Yeah, Sun City. Winter Olympics. Winter Olympics. I do that as a as a producer. Oh, really? Yeah. That’s That’s my proper job director. Yeah. Yeah. Did the Open for 15 years. Really? Yeah. This is game number five on the tea. The FedEx Tour champion from England, Tommy Fleetwood. Yeah. Mhm. Thank you. See you later. Very well. Good uh morning, Alistister. Good morning. I was having to think about what it is there for a second. Yeah. Good to come. Preferency. Well, that’s uh got to sit down, hasn’t it? That really has. I think it might be in the lock stuff. Well, well, well. Hello. Um, but I actually think Okay, well, let’s just try and get it in kind of next to it. I don’t think so. Yeah. So obviously, you know, there are certain groups um like Rory’s group there where you’ve got hundreds of people walking around with him and yeah, there’s a bit more pressure when you go into a ruling in that scenario, but um I think in fact that actually helped him out there because he had so many people looking for the ball. Um you know, if it was one of the first few games out here this morning, he would have had one Marshall and and the players and caddies and that’s it. So, you know, it helped Roy in that scenario. But yeah, there’s always a bit more a bit more pressure going into that that situation with the cameras rolling. And Demarco Penge this also for an opening birdie. The perfect start for the man who lies second behind Rory Maroy in the race to Dubai rankings. 183 here for Ludvig plus one. Birded the first but struggled since then. No struggling there. Oh, thank you very much into the red. Very nice indeed. This for an eagle. Big swing off the right. Is that going to come back? Oh, what a way to finish today at eight under pass, 64, 29 on the front, 35 on the back. Grandstand finish. Yeah, very good start to the nine. Um, you know, for the round, should I say, 29 on the front. I think it’s the second time in my career I’ve shot 29. So, it doesn’t happen very often. So, it was quite special. And I struggled a bit on the back nine. Couple weak bogeies, but finished with an amazing putt. So, that uh made up for that. He’s hit some beautiful iron shots out there today. In fact, everything’s been beautiful really for Fleetwood. Serene progress and it’s another gem. Shelling peas, isn’t it for Tommy at the moment? It’s impressive stuff. Eight birdies. Not a bogey on the card as he joins Sternie at the top. Off it goes. Down 18 for Shane Larry. This for Shane Larry to join the top of the leaderboard here in Abu Dhabi, which he does. Some stellar golf from both he and playing partner Tommy Fleetwood out there. Yeah, it was nice. Um, see I was pretty excited when I seen the group, my parent today and it was nice to go out there with the two boys. Um, I felt like I played I played lovely in the pro yesterday. So, I was pretty kind of confident coming in and uh yeah, it was nice nice to play well. I was going to ask about being paired with Tommy. Does that just help you make you feel a bit more relaxed out there? Yeah, I think so. I was paired him in India the first two days and I shot 64 the first day as well. So, uh yeah, something about me and Tommy, but no, I I just like playing with, you know, playing with your friends and especially really good players too. So, it’s uh we kind of feed off each other and it was nice. Tommy, some great play today. I know you’re disappointed with that put on the last I know you’re disappointed with that put in the last, but how happy are you with 64? Tough last hole. I played very well, Shane. I really really did. I had um I think it always helps when you’re in a a nice three ball. Um playing with, you know, Raasmus who I’m close with and then Shane. Uh, so weird talking about each other over, didn’t it? But it was great. Had a great day. Um, you know, I think we played some good golf. Fed off each other a little bit and uh, looking forward to the rest of the week. Sh. I’m looking forward to tomorrow. We got another day tomorrow. We have another day out tomorrow. We have hopefully Saturday as well and Sunday. If I’m around Shane for the week, you know this. If I’m one shot behind Tommy Fleet going into the back n on Sunday, I’ll be doing well. I say that every week. Is that any good? Perfect. Very nice indeed. I remember last time uh when I made one at Tory the next hole, I was so fired up and I hit this T-ball. It was so far right. It was not on the planet. Uh well the one at toy was like it was the third round and it when I made it it kind of g I think it gave me the lead or touched the lead or something like that. So that was like good for the tournament as well. So and that’s a cool hole like with the Pacific going number three. Uh but this one’s sweet but you can’t can’t complain. See a good one. Thank you. Enezer. Hello and welcome to a flawless Yas Links and the 20th anniversary of the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship. We are into the last phase of the season as we lean into the playoffs for the next Fortnite. Are we going to be on TV? Hi. Thanks, man. How many autographs have you guys got? Three. Three. Yeah. Three. And who? We’re best friends. Yeah. Yeah. Whose autograph do you do you want? Um, we I won the Rory Macroy. Yeah. You going to hang around all day for that? Me, too. Yeah. I plan to put it here in the middle of everything. If you get it. If I get it. I’m just waiting for Are you Who’s better at golf? Um. Oh. Are you still going to be friends after that? Do you remember last year? I don’t remember yesterday. We’re all set ready to go ahead of the second play of the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship. Dame Laura Davies alongside me and all about the birdies on the first day. Five players managed to card eight on the par. Two of them. Radicup Heroes and Larry and Flewood. On the tea, the FedEx Tour Champion from England, Tommy Fleetwood. We’ve whittleled the field down to the best 70 players on the DP World Tour. Next week, it’s just 50 who make the journey to Dubai. Pick up the action with Oberg for birdie at 13. You beauty. That’s a bit of a bonus. Eagle the 11th is the 13th moves to eight under. I think it’s a wonderful performance from Aaron. He hasn’t played since the BMW PGA Championship back in September. He’s just been at a a three-day wedding celebration back in India recently three days. Love how he goes about his job. Right. Very dedicated, professional, really good grafter. Now, Tommy Fleetwood moves clear at the top. He goes to 12 under par. Minus four from his first seven holes. Picking up where he left off yesterday. little turn from the left side for Ry here. Relatively quick that he ties the lead of Tommy Fleetwood. Yeah. So, our good friend here, we Wednesday we went out on the uh slower jet skis and we just didn’t quite think 50 mph enough. So, we hired the 80 mph ones. No, more than 80. 120 110. You will see now. We will not be coming back. I promise. No, no, I promise. Come. M these things are a joke. The jet ski is fanging in here right now. The It’s like glass out there. It has to start outside. Brilliant. He doesn’t have to bounce back very often cuz he to bounce back he needs something to bounce back from. That’s why he is one of the five best golfers in the world. That’s one more for good measure. Tremendous work on this sunny Friday from Aaron Ry. Yeah, it was really good. Struck it really well. Ter Green created a lot of chances. Um just felt very stressfree overall. Um and yeah, it it was just a very yeah, very solid um productive day out there today. It’s been an absolute treat to to watch this three ball, but particularly Tommy and Shane. And like I said earlier, the two of them, they are just I mean, of course, they’re elite athletes. They are totally focused, but they just look like they’re they’re cruising around here. I’ve never seen the game look so easy between the two of them, and there’s plenty of laughing and so relaxed. It’s an absolute joy just to watch and this would be a really good one to hold. Beautiful. Beautiful. I feel obviously good about my game and I’m doing so many things well, but I I’m also very aware of what the game can do to you as well. So, I’m just staying very focused on each day. Um had a pretty poor warm up this morning really. Um, but yeah, I like I’m having a lot of good rounds, but I, you know, I’m not stupid and it’s bitten me enough times and uh, you know, I’ll enjoy these good ones, but stay focused and stay trying to do the right things and just hopefully like it continues for as long as possible really. Andy Sullivan to get away with the rush of blood on the previous. Instead, he pays the price. First drop shot of the day comes at an unlikely point down the final par five. The number one and number two in the rankings the race did buy on the DP World Tour. They’re not far from each other on the leaderboard either. Minus 9 is Marco Pench. Minus 8 is Mroy. We are in for a treat here in round three of the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship. Out left a little. Yeah. First is going to be reachable, isn’t it? Mhm. Amazing. Two Eagles, two birdies. Six under through the first four. A couple of pass since for Tier Hatton. It was awkward. Ah, hit it on the line to like hit it all the way and it’s just come out dead. Made a pretty good job of that actually. This is for a a birdie. Might be happy with that. Does that one work? Now Stony second shot into the first. Hello. That’s the second one we’ve seen today. Tier Hatton pulled it from the left hand side rough and now Richard Stern second bounced in Nikolai Hoyard. Two shots off the pace. Three under after six. He’s looking good as well, isn’t he? Over at the Spaniard at 12. Very good. Nicely placed for an opportunity. Oh, walking it in. Lovely. He said he’s been putting well, hasn’t he? All week. If I do that, I should get that step going. She’ll lip out. Right. Looks like there’s nothing much behind the flag stick. You’re scared you’re going to go a little bit aggressive. Drop it off the back of the green. It’s a two-shot lead now. Time for a double bogey. That’s what he’s going to find. peeling from right to left. Has he? Yes. Yes, he has. Finally. Right on time for Tommy Fleetwood at 16. as if you were the eighth birdie of the day of 65 for Hoyard. He does take a step closer. I’m not specifically comfortable in this course. I mean there’s there’s guys that hit it like well I play with Nico today and he hits a long way. It seemed like a pitch and path for him. But um I mean it’s it’s a course that that you have to respect somehow in some pins, you know, and I’m trying to do that. I’m trying to whenever there’s a pin that I feel like I’m not get there, I just go to the middle of the green and try to put and uh if there’s a pin that I have a wedge on that is I think it’s my forte, I try to go at it. And I think it’s working quite well. Back on the tea though is Tommy Fleetwood. Just about avoiding the trap. 274 for Fleetwood. Being told it’s the fivewood. Similar to where Ry is, but definitely in the fairway. Gone, Tommy. One last chance. That’s a nice number to cut his gap with the leader. Fleetwood. How important will the last 45 minutes be? Those two birdies in the scheme of things tomorrow. Tommy Fleetwood should be in the final group. How many boys have you got today? I got one, too. You’re already a Rolex winner, Scottish Open in 2020. How excited are you to possibly add another gold star tomorrow? Yeah, looking forward to it. This this is a huge event. It’s one of the biggest events that we have on the DP World Tour. So, to be playing this week um to have a chance going into into the weekend is great. Um still a long way to go and a lot of really good players um up and around that leaderboard. So, yeah, we’ll we’ll give it our best and see how it goes. This tournament’s been great to me. Um, I came close a couple of times since winning the last one. I won 2017, 2018. Um, I think I’ve been close a couple of times and actually, yes, like I I played really well last year. Uh, finished maybe sixth or something. It just made it look really easy and I just had to stay really patient. I felt like that was a big finish at the end. Um, like the birdie on 18 like I looked at the scoreboard and Nacho with made birdie. So, I needed that one to get into the last group. So, I thought that was quite important. Um, good day. I don’t think it was easy, but a lot of people made it look that way really. Yeah. Thanks for having me tonight. Um, thank you. Amazing. Thanks. Thank you so much, guys. It’s great to see you. Yeah. Yeah. Thank you very much. Yeah. Yeah. Let’s try and get it done tomorrow. It was good. I’ll see you guys soon. Thank you very much. Thank you guys. Thank you so much. Come on, guys. The next eight days on the DP World Tour season will decide both futures and legacies. Keep it up everyone. Ball speed normally up about 188. Yeah, there you go. 189. He’s got great game. No doubt about that. Good luck. Achilles heel in and around the greens. And then there were three. He’s very silent as well these final moments. Different strategy then yesterday as I was saying it wasn’t a very good one. That’s crack and drive. Can he find his second Rolex series gold star in Abu Dhabi? Similar type of game to Fleetwood’s. It’s not overpowering. It’s all about accuracy. And Tommy Fleetwood ties the lead at the opening hole. The onesot gap quickly closes. So, a great break this good looking thing. Oh, wow. Wow. The number of shots we’ve seen on two the whole week. Just outside left for three. Off to a flyer. He sure is. Tommy Fleetwood. The start of dreams. Birdie Eagle and two clear. Huge putt context of the day. Bad time to drop one. Up you come. Well done, young man. What a strong week for the Englishman. 20 under par. That’s not going to be good enough to win, but it keeps him right in the hunt to win the race to Dubai. Well done. He played awesome today. Were you trying to be a bit more aggressive? you know, obviously knowing that’s in reach with next week too, but did you feel this week you go out there? Today you went out there a bit stronger possibly. Like if anything today I was a little more at times took my foot, you know, kind of picked and choose when to attack. The first three days I was, you know, trying to attack as hard as I could and I think that’s why, you know, that is part of my patience being poor. Um, so today was kind of back to the process and, you know, be aggressive inside 150 and take my medicine. um outside of that and yeah I shortsided myself on 17. Um but you know you can’t get everything right and uh just a real good performance every part of my game mentally. You know me and my caddy work great today and uh yeah nice to go into next week with with shooting that score today. Now, can Aaron vault over Hillia to get the lead on his own? No, he’ll have to settle for being in a tie again. Yeah, good body for a right alongside Helier at the top. Heartbreak for Hillia and a double bogey to match. He’s on a charge, Laura. He most certainly is, as you’d expect. World number two. Perfection. comfortable with these holes are beautifully made inside six feet. Looking for the low raking draw. didn’t quite get it turning up and down to match the lead. He really is a marvel around the greens. Never say never. Yeah, I saw he really got it going at the the start of the back nine there. Um, and yeah, I saw he was at like 20 under and then I think he dropped back and then he birdied the last. So yeah, I just, you know, I just tried to keep my foot down and and make as many birdies as possible. One yard of draw. It’s an excellent shot. Look at him like an alley cat. They could both learn from that. He’s not out of this yet. Nikolai Hoyard and Tommy Fleetwood is out in front to get to 24. It won’t be a lot of movement at all. Yes. Brilliant stuff from Lee. Brilliant from all three. He’s done it again. He’s played another worldly. I mean that no drama on the outcome of that one. Up the hill right to left at the hole. Very nearly. Well, it’s going to come down to just the odd shot there from Nikolai. Missed opportunities. Head down as always. It’s a good line. He’s done it. Every question answered today. Aaron Wright ties the lead on 17. Oh, what a putt from Tommy Fleetwood. Quite right. He should clench his fist. Oh, what a battle royale. This is superb. Anything you can do, I’ll match it. on the 18th hole. Goodness me, that was that was SP. Draws it back towards it. It’s better than Fleetwoods, but not stone dead by any means. Well, well, well. Oh, what a good try, Aaron. What a try. Tommy’s probably thinking he wishes his one was a little bit closer. flit with to extend to extra holes. We’re going into overtime here in Abu Dhabi. Ry V Fleetwood once again in the Rolex series. It’s our first playoff since we’ve been to Yas Links. Last three journeys here, they’ve all been tight, but not quite like this. Quickly down for the tea. They’re both going to be safe down the 18th. I can’t quite tell the eyes of Aaron Ry, but it’s a cracker exactly where he would have wanted it. Even bitting once more between Ryan Fleetwood Pretty much like that. Can’t ask for much more. Nice aggressive strike. Oh, he hasn’t. He’s going to give a little bit of an idea with the line on that pot. every chance. And once more it stays up for Tommy Fleetwood. It’s a rise smile and another Rolex Series gold star Aaron Ry the victor of the Abu Dhabi HSBC championship over Tommy Fleetwood. Terrific performance from Ry. Great tournament. History repeats between those two. But it is Aaron Rise star who shines the brightest. What does this mean to you? It’s it’s hard to put into words um as of yet. Uh but anytime you win on on the DP World Tour, anytime you win on any tour, it’s extremely special. The standard of competition is so strong. There’s so much that goes into the day-to-day routines to to try and play as well as you can. Um and to have these moments, they’re very fleeting for a professional golfer is um is very special. Um but just hard to describe at the moment. part for you. So, just go straight to Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Hello. Good to see you. Thank you very much. Thank you very much. Thank you. my wife Gora who’s who’s been by my side. Um my mom, my dad, um who have it’s just hard to put into words everything they’ve done. Good luck. Very happy for you. Thank you very much. Appreciate that. Thank you. Do a clean one of this. Can we move to clean? You can move to without this. Yeah. Hold this for a second. No, no, no. It’s getting heavy. No, no. It’s getting calm down. Straight in here. All right. Thank you guys. Thank you. Thank you. It’s a real accomplishment. The fields are strong. There’s so much work that goes into a tournament. There’s so much work that goes into weeks away from a tournament. Um and to win a Rolex Series event, um an event the size of of this of this tournament, um as strong of a field as what this was, um is is really special. So, um, yeah. Uh, amazing to amazing to be here. Okay, darling. We did it. We did it. Thank you. Thank you. Yeah, amazing week. Um, didn’t really have too many expectations coming into the week. Um, I think it’d been six or seven weeks since the BMW PGA, which which was the last event that I played in. Um, so yes, I actually came here two weeks ago to do a little bit of practice. Um, which which helped massively just getting a feel for the course, a feel for the grass. Um this year has been extremely special with us getting married. Um it was great. I spent uh almost four weeks in India um in October caddy for her, being with her, obviously getting married, practicing and playing together. Um it’s it’s just a beautiful thing to be able to share different parts of our lives with with one another um and being with each other every step of the way. So um yeah, very special. ladies and gentlemen champion Alan Roy. Everybody welcomed. What’s your name? What’s your name? I want I can’t see. Thank you. Thank you for waiting. I’m glad. Thank you.
