TAMPA, Fla- Head Coach AJ Newell and the University of South Florida women’s golf team announced the addition of two student-athletes to the 2026 signing class. Carlee Jaye Meilleur and Maria Eduarda Rocha will join the Bulls in the fall of 2026.
Carlee Jaye Meilleur

Meilleur arrives in Tampa with a standout 2024 season. Her spring was highlighted by a victory at the AJGA Dominican Open Junior Championship in May. She followed that with a strong performance at the 47th Junior North & South Amateur, finishing T5 in June, before qualifying for the USGA Girls Junior Championship.

Rocha came to USF recently representing Brazil at the World Amateur Team Championship where she competed against top amateurs from across the world. Known for her composure, precision, and power, her international tournament experience will translate seamlessly at USF.

Tampa native AJ Newell, a former LPGA Tour player and NCAA All-American, enters her second season as head coach of the USF women’s golf team. In her first season, she coached Leonor Medeiros to the American All-Conference Team. Newell coached the Bulls to four top 10 finishes in the 2024-25 season.
Newell took over leadership of the Bulls’ program following a successful three-year stint as assistant coach at the University of Michigan, where she helped guide the Wolverines to three straight NCAA Regional appearances, a 2022 Big Ten title, and a trip to the 2022 NCAA Championship Finals.
