[Music] [Music] Hey, woo. [Music] What’s up, guys? It’s 2J here with JJ Harbaugh. I’m over here at Aces Golf in Ron, Texas with a special guest, Luke Lane. Hi, guys. I’m going to give him just a second to tell you a little bit about himself here. Um, but guys, today what we’re doing here is we’re shooting a video for a Vot. You guys have probably heard of him. You’ve seen Bryce Dambo winning major with him. Um, but I’m I got him in my hands today. I’m excited. Currently I play Mizuno clubs, but I was out on the golf course with the prolong driver, Zack Denon, and he threw a club to me and I caught it. I said, “What is this?” Says, “Pitching wedge.” I hit a ball about this far away from a hole. I almost made my first hole in one. Okay. After that, I walked up to the green. I grabbed the same club again and I made a chip off the off the green. Two shots. It’s all it took for me to get in here. So, well, for me, um, I had no intentions nor design to really be a fitter for anyone. I used to be a club pro in the area and I and in 2001 I got out of that industry. The last job I had I worked for Nike Golf doing some things but uh I wanted the irons so I went to Fresno, California. I went to the fit. During that fit, hey, why don’t you be a club fitter for not interested, didn’t have the time nor, you know, nor the inclination really. As I got back home and I was really just excited to get my clubs and it was still a conversation. Aes golf is owned by my neighbor. The next day he’s walking outside with his dogs and I said, “Hey, what are you up to?” And I told him, I said, “Hey, man. just got back from AOTA. This is going to be cool. I’m going to get these clubs coming. Blah blah blah. They want me to be a fitter for him, but don’t really know how I’m going to do all that stuff. He said, “Get in the truck.” So, we drove over here and here we are. This is AC’s indoor golf. 10 miles from my 10 minutes, excuse me, from my house. So, I thought maybe I’ll be a fitter for a voter golf. Been a lot of fun. Uh, I started off making these fits probably take a little bit longer than they needed to as I learned the process. And as we’ve gone and evolved, I’ve helped a lot of people get a lot better at the game and it’s been a lot of fun. Man, it’s awesome. I just I’m thankful for the opportunity to be here and get my hands on these. Um, since I almost made that hole in one, I’m itching to try and get another one and feel that again. Got to fit you right so you can That’s right. So, that’s why I’m here. So, let’s go ahead and jump on into it. At the end of the day, we’re going to we’re going to figure out lie angle first. Okay. Based on shaft and we’re going to go shaft and figure out what the best profile is to fit you. And we’re going to figure out grip. We’re going to figure out length and all that stuff as we go. Okay. But most of the data, it’s going to be what it is right here. It’s going to we’re going to get to a certain point where we know what the line angle is and then as we get into shafts and we get into grip, it’s what feels best and what what consistency is provided for you. And everyone’s a little bit different. Tighter dispersion. Right. So, we’re going to we’re going to we’re going to mess with steel. We’re going to mess with graphite and variable lengths and variable angles. And at the at the end of it, we’ll have a club that fits you perfectly. Sweet. Right. What do you feel? A little stiffer in the tip. Yeah. Well, almost overall. Well, and that’s what that is. Yeah. So, the profiles are very similar. Um, however, this one’s just a little stiffer in the tip and the kick points just slightly different. Okay. Um, PGI and TGI. The PGIs tend to be a person that’s a little more of an arc swinger and a little softer and this tends to be a guy that’s going to hit down on on it a little bit more and somewhere in between. So, that’s a great way to explain all that. However, the shafts kind of make all that happen on their own. So, you know, we’ll figure that out as we go. Used to be a big uh toad digger, if you will. Okay. Well, that was You had the wrong line angle, correct? Okay, that was a while ago. That was open face. So, what we lose, which isn’t much if you look at where you’re hitting it, is just based on that little/ inch shorter in shaft. Yeah. Okay. Sure. And it’s what? Less than a mile an hour club head speed difference. You’d think it’d be dramatic, but it’s not. Couple yards tops. Three. Three. Two. Three. But we’re not going to do that. We’re gonna We’re going to match it up. We’ll be up there anyways, which is I just got to remember I got to be just a hair here, right? That was a good one. Okay. Now, a lot more laggy. Let me see that. We’re going to This is where we’re going to go up and down the spectrum a little bit. Sure. All right. All right. What do we do? Nothing. You just swing. Okay. Interesting. I know you liked that cuz I liked that a lot. A little bit lower. But you turned it over, didn’t you? Oh, yeah. On purpose. Mhm. Okay. kept that whole swing lower, right? But let’s look at that now. Look at that number. And let’s look at impact again now. And all we’ve done is change the shaft. Path is exactly the same. Launch angle was a little bit lower. You look, you said you try to do a little drop. Just a little bit lower. There you can see it. Okay. So, is that normally where you put the ball in your stance or is it a little more up than that? Um, I’m trying to play lately more everything back further in my stance. Okay. That’s what I was fixing to say. So that’s more here. I would rather it be more off your left chest. Okay. Let’s just just try that just just for me. Let’s just see where I’ve always been trying to compress the ball and get it lower and make better contact. So I kept pushing it back. Right. And and and you what you just said is what most people do. So if we start to do that, then you start doing a little bit more and a little bit more and now I’m out of sync. And now you’re out of sync and you’ve changed your alignment. You’ve changed the way the club comes into you do something to accommodate that. Right. I feel all that. But exactly. But if it’s right here off your left chest, it gives the club a certain time in path reason, the correct time to square to get here. As opposed to this and you trying to manipulate it with your hand, you’ve got enough time to square it up, right? Okay. So, there’s that’s really good. See where this logo is on your shirt right here? Yeah. That’s where the golf ball is. And it’s funny because it feels like the logo is here. Not even close. Yeah. Okay, you’re good. That’s why we like that angle. Cool. So much higher and straighter and much more penetrating. I’m gonna kick your two secrets and it’s over. Look at this distance there. That’s a lot lot more a lot more cuz we’re not we’re not not losing anything just by moving it up. Okay. I’ve never had a golf lesson in my life, by the way. Just in fittings. Honestly, you don’t really need one. Yeah. You hear that, boys? Well, I’m just saying. I mean, the things that we work on, we’ve already determined where your path is. Your setup’s good. You’ve obviously worked on the right things. So, just feel a little bit awkward with it. A little bit forward even. And it’s not if I really worry about that if I see the 200 yard straight down the middle. Well, let’s let’s see. I mean, you proof’s in the pudding. Stay right there. Okay. Okay. And I feel like I maybe I feel like I misit that just a hair. Ideal. That’s wild. It still feels like it’s in the middle. It’s almost looks feels like it’s almost centered, doesn’t it? Yeah. Yeah. But look where it is. Yeah. Okay. Got it. And all that is is my brain telling me I need 100%. And and if we play you play in Texas, you play in the wind. What do you do? Okay. Well, you start Well, you start leaning in. Yeah. Okay. You start leaning into the wind. If you start leaning into the wind, you also bring it back. Okay. And then before you know it, you’re doing this. the thing that you don’t want to do, you’re starting to do this because you have to. Interesting. Because you’re trying to slap correct on it. So that changes everything instead of coming and getting, right? So So you know the old days we used to go, we’d get it and we, you know, you’d go little step, big step, right? Sure. And that’s what, you know, that’s what we used to do. We make sure we used to set up and and those are things that we all that’s all the guys that taught golf before us. That’s what they taught us to do. But guess what? You’re really supposed to do that stuff. Okay. So for example, let me simple is when Scotty’s doing that thing, you know, 100%. Why is he doing that? Because that’s one, it’s part of his routine, but he legitimately is standing there going, I want to make sure at impact, this is what I feel. It’s so stupid, but it’s beautiful, right? And if you But if you stand here and do this, so come back here with me. If we’re going to hit a shot, never in life are you going to stand back there and just keep repeating boom, boom, boom, boom, boom. Right? Come back here for a second with me. So if you’re going to hit a shot, all right, and you’re going to walk in to do this, might as well do it like you would do it on a golf course. Okay? All right. So, let’s go club face somewhat in line with where where we think the target is. Then let’s get the grip and then let’s get the stance. And then from here, if we just made a little half move and we went boom and I pointed the club where my target is, I should have pretty good rotation. I should be standing facing where that is, right? Okay. Well, let’s if I started off like this, then I would know I didn’t do that. Correct. Okay. Okay. So, it becomes a very important thing to make sure let’s make sure I’m I’m I’ve set the club up where I look like or I think I’m trying to hit it and then set my body up to that. Got it. Doesn’t see it sounds It’s looks very rudimentary, but see, eight out of 10 people don’t do it. Well, when I got the length added, I I got comfortable hitting the four and five iron again after I I was like that after I kicked my foot back and gave myself room to because you made an adjustment that didn’t correct. So, I was always trying to get that draw. So, here I am doing that bad boy as far back as possible. Just trying to get that to do that motion, right? Which that’s terrible. That’s a way to turn it over, but ain’t correct. But that’s a feel. It is. Right. And and that’s what you feel to create a path. It was repetitive. It was It was able to repeat, right? So, so we line the club face up. We got a target. And let’s now let’s just for fun. Oh, yeah. Hang on. Let me do it. Good. I forgot we were doing that. Sorry. There you go. Well, let’s just If you’ll do it now, you’ll do it all the time. All right. So now just from there just rotate and point the club where you want the ball to go. See how your see your body follow that position. That’s exactly where you want to be. Good. All right. So now we know. Now from there just swing. But I feel like it’s too far this way. Is it? Not yet. We’ll we’ll we’ll see. Set the club down. You move. It’s maybe a smidge back farther than where you There you go. You moved it already. I could feel it. That’s ideal. That was thinned and not terrible. Now, it’s a good thin miss. What we’ve got going on is we’re we’re still going to go back and forth and do something though, but we’re we’re going to go in different directions, but I’m not going to tell you anything. I’m just going to hand you a club and we’re going to go from there. Sounds good. I’ll let you be the judge. Okay. You want one more? One more. That’s one thing I was actually working on the last couple rounds was trying to not stay still, like move around until I felt comfortable. Be athletic. Right after, right before I hit the ball, it’s like, okay, I feel in this good spot. Let’s be athletic. That should turn just a little bit. Yep. Okay. Hit that more in the toe. Just a hair. Bar this again. That was pretty good, right? But we’re not there yet. No. No. So, this little aid here is And we’ll we don’t have to worry about all this stuff. This is This doesn’t look like much. Um I took there’s usually a yellow a red one and a yellow one on here for more resistance. And this is I can’t even do this in my house cuz my dog freaks out and runs out the door cuz it makes it makes a lot of noise. But this doesn’t this doesn’t seem like much, but I promise you if you stand here and what I’m going to do, I’m going to swing this and I’m going to try to stop it at impact. Okay? And it’s going to make a ton of noise. But this is exactly what you want to feel with an iron. It’s going to feel funny, but if you watch this, you’ll you’ll understand real quick what it does. So, if I’m here and I try to stop it, the momentum carries me through. But you see where my body how much my body moves because it has to. Okay. So, if I stand here, those are pos right. Okay. So, then the next move would be how would I’m going to go beyond and I’m going to stop about right here. Now, if I if he’s standing here, I don’t care who it is, and we did club head speed and then I take it away and I let him do this about five or six times, then we do it again, your club head speed is going about 3 or four miles an hour. Oh, yeah. Right. Because you’re going to all of a sudden what I just Well, it’s not just engaged. It’s engaged a lot. You’re lifting almost it is you’re working out 100%. I’m already out of breath, right? I can tell you’re swinging. I can tell you’re getting a little We need to put the noise cancellation on that camera there for that part. So, I when I take these and I do this when I’m first starting out, now we’re not most people that I do a fit with, not to knock anybody’s golf understanding, but most people aren’t as advanced as you are. So, when I’m doing a fit, okay? Anyway, so what what I’ll try to do sometime is I’ll I’ll do this over here. So, let’s pretend like I had this is my hand and let’s pretend like there’s a big plate on the wall and it’s right here. Okay. Okay. And I said from right here, grip the club. I want you to reach up there and touch that plate. Okay? Seven out of 10 people, here’s what they do. Right. Where where’s my right foot? Okay. Only good players go here. And what am I doing here? What? How did I do that? I utilize all of this. Interesting. Okay. I I literally just stood here. And now if I try to go there, they just don’t know if if you they don’t know. But that’s notice my right arm’s off because it won’t it didn’t want to do that. So it’s coming back. It says, “Nope, I’m not doing that.” So think about that in a golf swing. If you’re swinging and right here, we know I’m I’m not trying to get to the golf ball. The golf ball is going to get collected on its way to there. That’s what better players do. Okay? Most everybody else is trying to put the club head on the ball. Better players are trying to collect the ball on the way to where I’m trying to hit it. So, it’s a completely different thing. So, the reason I’ll do that sometimes to get somebody warmed up to go is I want to get an accurate reading here. And if we’re doing this, I’m going to put you in four degrees upright and I’m going to send you down the road. That’s not going to be a fit. Okay. So, what we’re doing right now, we’re in the process of determining lie angle, right? And we’re going up and down the spectrum. Okay. Okay. We start in a certain we’ll start I’m always going to start off in standard. Okay. And I’m going to move up and around direction and I mix I’m going to mix and match based on what I see. Got it? And we’re going to get to a point. The reason we do that with a VOD is because in the past basically you’re pretty limited on how you do a fit. Okay. Back in the day now, you know, it’s it’s everybody’s got to it’s it’s more intricate now in in all pursuits. However, it used to be put a piece of lie angle tape on the bottom of the club, hit it off a map, look at it and determine what that is and he’s over here and put that in and then what shaft do you need and what grip do you need and send you on your way. Okay. Well, we start off and we start off with a standard lie. We move up and down the spectrum from standard all the way to four degrees upright all the way to four degrees flat back and forth moving around because human beings make adjustments based on what they see. Right. Okay. So, as you’ve already done, makes me comfortable when I whenever I put it down, I want it to feel right before I hit it. Correct. So, there’s a certain way you look at it and there’s a certain way everyone looks at a golf club and it determines how it appeals to them. But at the same time, you will move your hands, your posture, your ball position, all those things to accommodate what that club looks, right? You go buy a set of clubs off the rack. Same thing, right? That’s what what’s going to happen is you’re going to do it. You’re going to go, “What looks good to me?” And then whether the line angle fits you or not, you’re going to accommodate your body to make it work. Correct. Okay. Whether that be choking down, extending, and say, “I need longer clubs, yada yada yada.” which is why you can hit all those different drivers that are like the demos for sale whatever that people kind of similar the same because you’re making your adjustments as you that’s what you do I mean what what other option you swing your swing what other option do you have right so I’m not Rory well well and a lot of people you watch videos and every everybody does that now everything’s you know looking at you know let me type in what I want to match Rory Maroyy’s perfect swing correct and that’s not and if you’re not built like him you’re not going to swing like right and there’s other factors I mean if certain people if your arm won’t rotate take to here. Good. Good luck trying to shallow it all the time. All right. So, so there’s a a lot of factors in that. But if you really think about where where offset came from, it was game improvement, right? Okay. It was and give you a little more time to square the club face up. Well, if you can create a club and but that same person, if you ask them what looks good to them, they always pick a blade, right? Blades look better, right? But how often does that player have the time to really work on his game to hit a blade? Okay. So, so the idea between a VOD is by this is yeah, we got a lot of game improvement back here. If you really look at it, there’s there’s a cavity there. It’s weighted a certain way, but if you look at this, the narrow soap, but you see that leading edge, that leading edge is designed in a way to cut through the turf better. Oh, it’s sharp. It’s sharp and it cuts right through. So, when you’re standing here looking at it, yeah, the first exactly what you just said, most people look at it and they go, “Oh, no. That’s that’s a blade. I’m not going to be able to hit that.” Then hit it a couple times and you realize real quick that’s not the case. I’m not going to hit one. I just want to see just see what it looks like. Yeah. This is coach, guys. Yeah. I’m the eye candy of this group. Well, obviously with that shirt. Yeah. And jokes. Oh, wow. Yeah. So, it’s, you know, I don’t want to mess up all your You’re good. Do whatever you want. See, it all it goes straight for everyone. Groo groove. Uh, groovo. Now, what do you feel like you do in that swing? Let’s take a look at it at impact. What do I feel like I do to what? Notice. Okay. To notice you hit that. Look at the path. It’s not quite as inside. Okay. Hit it a little bit higher. Spin rate was a little bit less. Carry was a little bit less. Okay. Did it feel like you had to make some kind of an accommodation to hit it a little bit or No, I don’t know. Okay. It’s just a question. I felt like I was a little bit more here versus extended. Okay. on that specific swing. Hit one more and let’s see. I’m also with the the length thing, I’m trying not to think about it. Correct. And that’s part of it, too. It’s playing a hair into it. Right. So now we start the inconsistency is the turf interaction is because this that’s two degrees flat. Okay, there you go. You didn’t know it. No, but I’m but I’m like, damn, this is I hate this 100%. But I haven’t hit one good yet with How do I find out if it’s right if I don’t go there? Sure. Right. So, for for perspective, I’m a four degrees up, not a flat guy. So, he just took my toe that I dig in the ground and stuck it even more. And I’m going I can’t hit the ball. I guess that’s why I hit the chart while ago. That’s like almost broke my wrist on the last. Take take the piano off so you can run a little bit. Take the trailer hitch off. All right. So, now we’re kind of back to where we were. Okay. Okay, we’re going to do one more with this and then I forgot we were doing the all the spectrum here. Well, I’m going to add a variable in a minute. We’re going two more with this and I’m going to add another shaft variable. Okay. Okay, that’s excellent. Perfect setup. Felt good. Much easier to hit straight. And we might be on the line. There you go. And we went right back to our distance where we lost before. We lost about four yards because of it being a little flatter and that turf interaction wasn’t ideal. Uh spin rate was pretty similar, but let’s look at the path. I tell you what, it felt really nice. Now you’re back to the inside. Okay. Those are things that happened based on that lie angle being whether it’s too flat or too upright. You’ll make adjustments to make it work. And you’re saying this right here, that back inside here, this Yeah. Before it was before we were maybe square to maybe even just a little bit outside this. Got it. Okay. and the two degrees upright, you’re maybe even more inside that. Part of that is you adjusting, part of it’s the length of the club. Okay. Okay. One more with that for me and then I’m going to change it up again just for fun. All right. We’re going to try to hit a little bit bigger draw here. Okay. Without doing this, right? So, you and I have very, believe it or not, very similar club head speed. But let’s see. But from a from an overall speed and let’s just see from a smash factor. Let’s see what happens. Okay. If I go a tad heavier, I just really like the ability to go I’m going to hit a draw here and it hit a draw there. Correct. So, and and you and I are very similar. I was on the right on the border of the 100s and the 110s and the TGI. All right. And the shafts that are my clubs, you can grab one of those right there. The black ones if you want. But those are 100s. This is Yeah, this is a 110. Now, those are going to be even shorter than these cuz my my specs are a half inch short cuz like we talked about before, I got monkey arms. So, the old black. Yeah. And it’s it’s what you like looking at. So, let’s see how this feels with we’re going from a TGI 100 to a TGI 110. So, slightly heavier. Okay. All right. Let’s just see what this see what this I’m probably going to like it better. We’ll see. And I think I’ll hit it. Well, I don’t know if I can hit it better, but I think I’ll like the weight of it better, catching it better, probably. But we’ll see. Thin. Real thin. A little lower. Oh, yeah. A lot thinner. Lot less speed, but you hit it on the bottom. Yeah. Yeah. Way way low. One more. Here we go. What’s that, Dave? Porn. One bite. Everybody knows the rules. There you go. Okay. Not a bad little miss. That should be a little bit further. No, a couple of those felt real nice though. But the question is, well, here’s the thing. Do I want to work that hard? I felt like I had to swing it harder a little bit cuz it’s heavier. Yeah. And and I mean for fun here just for like two yards I that ain’t going to make a difference in whether I like it or not. I want to be able to go out there and play golf for hours. Just hit that for fun. It’ll be a little short, but just hit it anyway. You’ll figure it out. You’re an athlete. That’s a 100, not a 110. And that’s not a twist off. That’s just there’s a there’s a real deal. There’s a put together head. So let’s see. I like that grip, too. My hands this time of year, I have to go to cord grips because I sweat too much. So I got to put the cords on there. Otherwise, I’m feel like I’m going to throw it down the fairway. We broke the chalk out for coach over there. Look at that thing just keep climbing. Wow. You said there’s a 100. Mhm. And I was doing the one the one I just had in my hand was a 110. 204.7 again. The last one was 92.9. That was 91.3. Little short for you, too. So, you hit it on the bottom. So pretend like it’s an eight. Okay. So a little bit more over that makes sense. Yeah. A little bit little bit more over. Yeah. Just so you make a better impact. That was good. Didn’t try to get my hands, but I really tried to do your little uh flag drill at it. The only reason we see that right there is the length because it’s a half inch shorter than this. What are you talking about? The the length of that club while we lost about three yards. Yeah, that’s it. Okay. Okay. So, that’s that’s a just so you know, that’s standard lie. This is standard standard lie. Okay. Now, I just put this back together. So, let’s go back over here and let’s see where this plays. This is where we started. And this is where we started based on what we thought you were based on that set right over there. We’ll go from there. Shorter, right? A little bit. Just a little. Yeah. And this is a six iron or eight iron? That’s a six. Six. Six. There’s no eight irons in. I just wanted you to feel like that because Let me ask you a question. My club was shorter, right? Emblem, right? Every shot. Just feel like everything’s off your left chest. Wedge is going to be more like the middle. Driver is going to be more like your armpit. Now, you want to hit a select shot and move it back, then move it back. But if you really think about where this club, this would be standard for most for most of these irons. Right there. I want you to feel like you’re off your left chest. You at first you were kind of centered. Yeah. Right. And then shots low and to the right. Okay. So you can kind of feel where that is, right? You feel the logo. You feel your chest is feel like your balls line up. That’s perfect. Yeah. I feel it. There you go. That was heavy. That was a good interaction. Yeah. Little chunky. I don’t Yeah. A little. Not bad. It equates to a little bit chunky. Yeah. Yeah. All right. Only 80. kind of dug it a little bit. Plus, now you also got the fatigue factor. We’ve been doing this for a minute, too. And you’ll get tired. Nah, we’re good. All right, robot. What you’ll find is the slower I swing, the faster I’ll hit it and further I’ll hit it because I get more lag in my swing. 100%. Probably back up to where we were. Yeah. Okay. Now, it’s weird where we started. You’re you’re going to be right. This is where it becomes this is where it becomes your fit. Okay. Okay. The numbers are right. We’re going to fall in a range between 92 and 100 miles an hour where 100s and 110 will both work. Okay. It’s what feels better to you. All right. That’s that’s a little heavier shaft. Going to equate to a little bit stiffer. Okay. They’re both 100s and 110s are both extra stiff. Okay. That one’s just a little more extra stiff. Okay. It’s 200 yard shot. But we’re going to go back to the 100 in a minute. Little draw. 110. That’s the 110. Correct. Now, we’ve got real we’ve gotten real accommodating to graphite. We’ve gotten used to it. We’ve gotten I was about to ask the field. Well, because what you’re now, but just so we have a comparison. It’s supposed to feel good though, right? Supposed to feel better than steel, right? Well, not better, but let’s see. Let’s see what steel feels like. Steel feels like steel. I hope I hope steel is going to feel like steel. I hope it feels as good as it uh as those did. I’ll just say that much. Those felt real nice. And we’re still at 8 iron or No, we’re It’s always going to be a six. I just How would you feel eight iron without feel like an eight iron? because it was shorter. Yeah. Gotcha. There you go. I can’t believe that’s higher. That’s higher, isn’t it? Yep. I’m not crazy. It is. Hit it one more. Is that right? Everything. Listen, you’re not telling me everything. There’s no formula to any of this. You’re keeping some secret over there. I try to do this on paper, I’ i’d flunk out, right? So would everybody else there. I started it to the right more. I started my hands here more instead of here. Now look at your club head speed. Where we at? 101. A lot more. Oh, is it more? 96 before. Okay. Now 101. Make Why do you like There you go. That’s a question I can’t answer. Cuz graphite’s supposed to be more whippy, right? You would think you would think it’s not whippier. It’s just it’s it’s actually more it’s actually tighter for tolerant. It’s actually more consistent and a couple more yards. Yeah. Right. So, everybody’s a different man. That didn’t turn over. Yeah. But hit one more with that and we’re going to go even more deeper into this chasm of learning. We’ll try to turn it over just a little bit more. Right. Now, that’s what I thought I’d see more than anything else in that pull. Well, look at the look at what the lie angle is there. We’re back to two degrees upright. Okay. Okay. You thought I’d because you will because you’re not two degrees upright. Okay. Okay. Yeah. Well, I was going to ask you that. That was going to be one of my big questions when I came into this thing is that was when I got first fitted. Right. Right. which was a lot more. There you go. That’s the question I was just fixing to ask you. Well, we used I used to grip the club like that. There you go. And that fit was based on that. And those clubs based There you go. And with a better path, you don’t you’re not necessarily two degrees upright. Cool. So, I’m getting better at golf. That’s what I heard, boys. Let’s do that. Let’s create that club. Hang on. Say a little bit louder over here in the mic. What was that one more time? Zong driver Z. He hits 400 yards. All right. Pretty good. So now I’m going to Oops. Now I’m going to make some messy messy. That’s pretty interesting though. Every time I would go get fitted for my like those are two or three up. All my irons are up which on my draws I will always overcook it left. Whenever I try to hit a big draw, it always overcooks. Huh. Okay, cool. Don’t ask questions. Just hit There you go. I see what you’re doing. 180. Yep. There you go. You are standard lie. I love that. I’ve always wanted to be normal. Half inch long based on there. What was that last part? You said half inch long. That’s what we had before. Yep. TGI 100, not 110. Stepping down. Not really. Still X. It’s an X. It’s not as stiff. Yeah. Me. Yep. 100s and 110s are both X’s. Big draw. Now, now keep that in mind. Let’s Let’s hit that shot like you just did, but let’s go back to the 110. You like that draw? See which one feels better. What did I say to you when he walked in? What lie was pretty normal? Yeah, I said he standard lie. Been working on that. I saw it. Okay. That’s how good you if I showed him my I can hear it honestly if I showed him my bag was going to be outside of I wanted to match up the length I knew what it was after two swing 100% makes it way easier to fit then I was too quick with that one. Okay, hit that same little punch and just see what Oh, yeah. Yeah. I forgot we were doing that. Sorry. You still hit it 190 though. Okay. And then you got to tell me you got honestly this is where you got to tell me what feels better, that one or the other. I wish you had them both able to build back to back. Curious. Every time I hit my 4 iron and I try to do that on the course, I overcook it. Okay. I don’t ever feel like I can trust it to aim that far right, but I don’t think I need to aim that far right. But don’t you you feel like you’re a little more consistent with the graphite than the steel? I think so. Well, you feel better and it sounds better and you have good hair. So that too, especially the color. That’s new. I’ve been watching. Do a step back challenge here. I’ve been watching the videos. I know. They don’t know about my alipacia. All right. All right. Calm down here. All right. Little stinger shot. There you go. Yeah, that’ll do. Want your father’s opinion? Yeah. What? Graphite. But yeah, graphite. I think it’s easy. Graphite’s at But is it 100 or is it 110? Yeah, that Well, this is graphite. That’s graphite 110. Yeah, I know. Let me hit one more with this one. I think you’re I think you’re more consistent with the gra. But now we’re we’re curious if it’s the 110 or the 100. Yeah. Which Graham? I’m going to hit two shots. I’m going hit one stink one little draw like that and then one full go get it and see what happens with both of them. See the overcook? Well, honestly, why I’m going to lean towards that is what we just is the length of it. Okay. Because with the with the wave because well because the Exactly. So with it being that way that’s going to get just in itself with it being a half inch longer because we’re gonna I’m going to get whatever the spec of that is because I want to see those in your hands because I think they do fit you better. If we if we take the heavier shaft and then you add that length to it, it’s going to marry up. There’s more kick to it. Right. I think I think the longer one with the light is not going to catch as nice here. Correct. You need the 110s because of the length. But let’s see. Well, if you’re going to put me in graphite, give me 150. You know, I gota feel like a man swinging this. There you go again. It’s heavy graphite. Okay. That’s what he wants. Every time you play, he’s going to go look. It’s the heaviest graphite in the world. He’s going to go home and put a three. Bryson Dammo graphite. You’ve got of course you do. All right. That was the stinger. Now, let’s go the full. Go get it. Yes. Yeah, that’s perfect. It’s going to feel with the length of yours once we make it the correct length. It’s going to feel slightly slightly softer, which is what in between these two. Right. Right. Okay. That’s where you need to be. Little fade. A little more than that. Too much. Okay. Cool. Okay. Yeah. Five. What do you think? Five. Not a four iron. I wouldn’t uh just based on your speed. Black or chrome? I think I’m going to go chrome this time, but I don’t know. I don’t know. Everybody’s different. Well, I I have the black. The black would be cool. I probably I think I’ll go chrome. Yeah, we’ll stick with chrome on this one. I can always go back and get the blacks later. Wow, guys. I am shocked. I was a steel guy before and I guess you could take my man card. I don’t know what to tell you, but I am now going to be a graphite guy. I don’t know. Um, this is the KBS100. We’re going to end up on the 110s, uh, with the right length and the weight. Um, we are going to end up going with the AOTA irons, guys. Same length irons. We’re going to do a combo set, though. All right. We’re going to get a four, five, and 67 iron, and then our 89 or excuse me, 789 pitch will all be the same length. So, I can’t wait. I got them in silver. I was or yeah, the chrome here. I was going to get the black, but um because I had the original black PXGS, but the the wear on them, I’m afraid it’ll wear off too quickly, and I’m an OCD guy, so I’ll be like, can I get them refurbished real quick? You know, every six every 6 weeks or so. So, I’m going to go with the satin here, just like you see in my hand. Guys, if you want to get fitted, I’m going to bring Luke over here in a minute. But this was a wonderful experience over here at Aces Golf. Luke is fantastic. Knows his game, knows what he’s talking about. He’s not trying to sell you on anything here. truly trying to get better trying to get your ball on that line right right where you want it to be every time and that’s why I’m here. So, um I’m going to go grab Luke here real quick and we’ll see if he can give you a better rundown of what we’re going to end up with in our bag. All right, so we got Luke over here to talk about what’s going to go in my bag this year, guys. So, what we fit you with now, originally you came in here with steel shafts, which is, you know what, 90% of the time that’s what happens when gone. Well, and and and what what with the KBS shafts, with the with the technological advances they made with graphite shafts, you’ve got graphs graphite shafts that play like steel, but are a little bit lighter. And when you combine that with the forged head that Aotus created, little softer feel, a little easier on you to swing. So, you ended up in you ended up in 110 g shaft instead of 130 g shaft. Correct. But as you as you stood here, the overall weight felt a little different to you. But as time went on, if it felt easier and easier, I’m going to be able to repeat that. Yeah. Versus getting a little bit tired on hall 12, 13. 100%. If we can take technology and make the game a little bit easier, why wouldn’t we do that? Yeah. It’s all about longevity in my eyes with a bad back. Anybody out there with a bad back, you know, check these out. So, you’re 100% right. Initially, when you put that club in your hand, it might feel a little bit light to you, but give it a few minutes and then watch the performance and watch how the way the the shaft kicks into that head and the way that head kicks through the turf, and you’ll understand the difference. Awesome, guys. again. Aces Golf. This is Luke. Check him out online, Tik Tok, Instagram, YouTube. Go and subscribe. Come in here and get yourself fit. Bye, guys. Appreciate it. Thanks for your time, buddy. Yeah. Thank you. [Music] [Music]

  1. How did you set this appointment up? What number or website can I set this up at? I want to get an Avoda fitting here soon. I live about an hour from Roanoke

  2. Graphite isn't masculine was a funny line until about 25 years ago… Playing steel or graphite… Man card? Not funny. Move on. Mature in life. They are just components in a club that are fit to someone

  3. I’m curious how quickly did you get your clubs after purchasing them because I also have a fitting with Luke, but I will be going out of town so I figured I might as well have them shipped to the location I’m going to but wasn’t to sure.
