So, in today’s video, I’m going to show you a little hack with your lead arm that Bryson Dashambo uses that’s going to simplify your swing, get you striking the ball more powerfully than ever. And the perfect thing is this works with every single club in the bag. So, I think as golfers, it’s always great if we can kind of set up in a way that makes it incredibly simple that when we swing, we produce good accuracy, decent distance, and ultimately something that feels really, really repeatable. So, I’m not talking about the fact that every shot has to be dead straight. It might be a little fade. It might be a little draw. But if you can be consistent with how you deliver that club into impact and make sure that we create ball and then ground contact, you’re already miles ahead of most golfers. So I see a lot of golfers setting up to the golf ball. And when they set up to the ball there, they kind of fiddling a lot with the position of particularly the lead hand on the club. And as a result, you tend to see a lot of golfers setting up and there’s kind of a little bit of shape to the lead arm, but very much I can see kind of my left bicep would be straight at the camera and almost that forearm is kind of pointing just out in front of the camera. And the little challenge for that is when they first swing back, it’s very easy for that lead arm to bend. That makes it very hard to get back to the golf ball. And there I’ve hit the top, but it’s so easy to kind of bury the club in the ground. And controlling where the bottom of the arc is is really, really tough. So Bryson Dashambo, other golfers do use this, but Bryson’s kind of probably the most high profile with this, talks about how getting this lead arm into a perfect position address makes it incredibly easy to control where the bottom of the swing is, but also down the line gets us swinging the club on a much more simple kind of plane and path. And then the position of the forearm creates with the hand gives us much more control on the club face. So what he talks about is at a dress you want to feel that you get the top part of your arm turned in as much as possible and then the lower part rotates as far out as it can do. Then you hold the club. Now straight away for me that definitely feels that this is more turned in. So then what I would say is start to make a few swings from that position and see if anything feels different. So the first thing I notice in the back swing is once that top part of the arm’s turned in, how much kind of wider naturally that club is. It feels the club head’s much further away from me and probably feels that kind of my wrists don’t want to hinge quite as early as normal. Now definitely looking down the line for me my normal one would be from there that the club maybe wants to work behind me a little bit too early but certainly that change in the top part of the arm and then bottom part of the arm definitely feels like the club’s a bit more out in front of me and even that club face is very very good. So from there we want to make a few swings and see how that feels. And I I always say when you’re doing these first few swings, just do them a little slower to begin with and pay attention to what feels different. And then set up to the golf ball. So again, turn the top part of the arm in, turn the forearm away, and straight away there it feels like I can’t really get that my hands and my wrists into a weak position. If anything, everything feels a little bit stronger, which is definitely going to help deliver the club with a bit more shaft lean. So, from there, going to make a swing a little bit of speed out to begin with, but the strike felt lovely. And we can see there 80 mph, so I didn’t really lose much speed. Low point 4.2 in ahead. Club in incredibly neutral. Club face very square slightly from the inside. 160 carry and 173 total. Now, I’ll be honest, that feels incredibly simple. Feels like there’s not really a lot changing up and down in the back swing. And it actually feels like I’m not having to work at all with the club face, which is something I struggle with usually for me, getting too much rotation. And I know that Bryson says he feels it’s very very tough to hit left. But again, I’m going to turn that in that out. Again, one more with a little bit less speed. Again, felt lovely. Again, 83 and a half mph, 4.8 in ahead. Again, very neutral path and face. Again, just a 160 carry, 172 total. Now, I’d say for me as well, there’s something interesting address that that creates. So, certainly once I do that move and put the club in my hands, it definitely feels that because the ball’s in the middle, my hands want to sit more inside my left thigh. So, I definitely feel there’s a bit more shaft lean at address. And I certainly for me kind of feel like my hands sometimes get a little bit back behind the ball. So, I constant feel I have to work on that. But that little change at a dress definitely feels like my setup’s better. Like I said, back swing feels very, very wide and certainly very on plane. And then on the way down, just kind of feels like there’s nothing really going on, which should hopefully make it incredibly consistent with the movement. So once you’ve done a few slower ones, then we just want to put a little bit more speed back in. So from a good address position, make that swing and I feel super powerful. So 86 mph, 3.7 in ahead, 165 carry, 176 total. I do love how simple that feels. Let’s go one more with seven iron. and feel flushed out the middle. But again, consistent club speed, low point, and carry. So, I did mention at the start how this works with every club in the bag. So, obviously for a lot of golfers, that felt pretty simple where with iron. Hopefully, as you’re working through that, but now I’m going to move into my fairway wood. So, seven wood’s kind of my straightest face fairway wood currently. But I’m going to go through the same feel now for ball just slightly forward, but even that takeaway feels very consistent. Put the swing on it. And yeah, love that. Just a little fade, but we can see good club head speed, low point ahead, so the club’s traveling down, hitting ball, and then turf. But 211 carry, 228 total. So then the acid test for most golfers is driver. So again, gonna really focus on turning the upper part of the arm in, forearm away as much as possible. And it doesn’t really rotate massively that way. So ball slightly forward. Keep everything else the same. Now a tiny bit out the toe, but 105 mph club speed. Low point slightly behind. So hitting up face and path very neutral. 240 carry and 293 total. So, like I said at the start of the video, I think it’s so important for golfers that if they can get themselves into a good position at a dress, it helps really keep the golf swing as simple as possible. And I love if you can set that lead arm in the right position that you can get upper arm turned in, lower turned out as far as possible. There’s much more stretch into that lead arm. Then as that stretch is there, we can see that club stays out in front of me. Great club face. Then I’m able just to keep going to the top. As I swing down, it feels like the club’s slightly behind me, which is good. I can swing down into impact, then all the way through. But definitely this works great with my golf swing, and everyone I’ve tried this with definitely feels they’ve got more control on the club. actually as they get a bit more confident, build some speed. And if you can get that lead arm in the Bryson position, we’re going to hit the ball longer and straighter than ever before.

Thanks for this Ali. I have seen Bryson explain this before but you go into more detail which is helpful. Will give it a go.
It all comes from the moe Norman setup. Nothing new to see here..
Left elbow pointing towards the target. Period.
Im going to tske this to the range.. alot of videos are teaching hogans grip and i find this difficult to rotate which leads to alot of inconsistency. Ive only been playing a yr so hopefully this change should be easier
Great video ❤
Excellent video, do you have any videos showing the position of the ball with different clubs with this swing, thank you, have a great day.
