Tom McKibbin’s first-ever start on the Asian Tour will be remembered for a long time after he won the US$2million Link Hong Kong Open today – at the prestigious Hong Kong Golf Club.
A final-round seven-under-par 63 saw the Northern Irishman complete a stunning start-to-finish victory in the celebrated tournament, with a four-round aggregate of 27-under 253.
American Peter Uihlein was his nearest challenger. Uihlein closed with a 68 to finish seven behind, while Tomoyo Ikemura (65) from Japan, South African Louis Oosthuizen (67) and America’s MJ Maguire (70) tied for third, a shot further back in the seventh of nine events on The International Series, the set of LIV Golf-backed tournaments on the Asian Tour calendar.
McKibbin’s performance saw him break the tournament’s 72-hole low scoring total and match its biggest margin of victory, while it also earned him a place in The Open and Masters Tournament next year.

We welcome you to the final round of the Link Hong Kong Open. A par 70 golf course 6,710 yd not long but tricky and the greens getting quicker. 11 ft two now on the st meter. So what’s been happening already on this final day? The 2010 champion golfer of the year, Louisen playing the par five third. It’s a nice shot out of the green side bunker. will find his first birdie of the round. He’ll move up to 17 under in the 2013 Asian tours order of merit winner Kira Copy Bonrodat here at the 143 yd par three find his first birdie of the round and at the next to hole par five will roll in this nice 15footer for his backto back birdies man overdue for a win moving up to 19 on their par seeking his third international series win started the day two back pard the opening two hoes but made his first birdie of the day on the par five third. Tom McGibbon. McKibben putting a ball striking clinic this week. Only missed five greens in total. Found the fairway on the opening T-OT and hit a superb second. Opened with a birdie three. And then on the fire third green side bunker for two. step touch out of that bunker and he has increased his lead to currently three shots. Brilliant start from the young Northern Irishman. He’s the real deal. There’s no doubt about that. Tom McGibbon. He proved that on the live golf league this year. But as Tom says, three shots clear now of Maguire, Rappy Barnat, and Uline. Peter Uline trying to keep up this to get back to within two. Well done. Never been any problem with a short game. And at the par 3 fifth. Excellent T- shot to get it onto the top level. Got about 25 ft. It looks good. Oh. Oh, it does drop. Oh, he’s had a few that’s not dropped this week. Now to the par 410th. T moved up. Drivable once again like it was yesterday and with a much friendlier pin than yesterday. We might see a few eagles on this hole today. Just an oldfashioned slow crawler up the hill for MJ Maguire. Got to keep your speed up. [Music] Oh, they’re all up for him in this final round. So, they should be a Puge five under after eight. Dropped a shot at nine, but he could make eagle here at 10 after driving the green. [Music] He’s definitely taking a more aggressive approach watching him in his first few holes. Taking on some pins today. And that flat stick is on fire just in the left half of this fairway with the left pin. Sometimes the trees up ahead does protrude in the line of play. No bother for Louie. Rare young talent from Spain. Oh, that’s just a beautifully judged putt. Superb from Good. 22y old from Castong. Short part 344 yds, but it does have a dangerous hole location today. Cut just past the penalty area that fronts the front left portion. Oh, well hold a U-line. Interesting to see how this ball the last four or five ft how it rose out. We saw how quick it was with Bister. This looks quite good too. Oh, this is No, it’s going to Oh, no. It stayed online. I was going to miss left. But got hot. Well, significant amount of sling on this downhill slide of MJ Magguire. Just got to trust your start line. [Applause] Relentless. I made a double bogey on the previous hole after finding the water off the tea. Now eagle attempt at par 513th. Mura for a birdie at 10. Very reachable for again today. Charles Schwarzel. Eagle attempt at the 13th. He’s going to enjoy making that putt. Nonetheless, the putter comes to rescue for Tom McKibben. [Music] A very attempt at the final hole for the defending champion Patrick Reed for a round of six under par. Jose Bayister for his birdie at the 15th. Come on. Having a nice Sunday. Four under for his round. You’re not going to get this one backing up. So he can just sort of pitch this around 75. One hop and toss out an anchor. Not a hard shot at all. This one flying past the flag. Needs to grab. Stunning. Birdie pot for Jazz on 13. Oh, just Charles Porter. Not that tricky though. That is a great shot. Chin Watan on that 14. Oh, that’s interesting. Gets up to 17 under that one very high and looks to be pretty aggressive as well. Oh, I tell you what, Tom McKibben is winning more fans with every shot he hits. Lot of green to consider on this back half of this 15th green when he ding. [Applause] Not a problem for him. And ding up to five under par. Eagle putt for Australian Matt Jones. Two under par for his round. just to ease a little further ahead. Oh, you never doubted it, did you? Great performances by Tom McKibben. That’s three in the last four holes, 25 under. He leads now by four. A birdie putt for Tomoyo Iikimura. So 18 under power for the tournament. Well done. Let’s play two tours. The Japan tour currently 19th under Order of Merit this season. Don’t be charging this unnecessarily, young Master McKibben. It’s got a lot of pace on it. No, it doesn’t. Oh. Scott Hen with about 165, 52 years old and winner of the international Philippine international series Philippines last week. Miguel Tabena [Applause] shot 18th won the par for his crown. It’s a respectable showing after such an emotional win. [Applause] That one pretty high on a fairly aggressive line as well. [Music] Goodness me. How many times can we say relentless today, lads? Not Charles Porter stringing a nice run of holes. The 12th, 13th, and count the 14th. We’ll go again here, Doogie McKibben, for an eagle that would all but just put the bow on this trophy with still four holes to play. A couple holes to play. H he’s human after all. Scott Hint this for a birdie after an eagle on the 13th just to end his day on a better note. Now Iamura on the 16th from the back of the green. Looks good. So he moves into fourth place on his own. [Applause] Check off another hole. Road up the face a little. Should have some grab. And it’s just about trying to pitch this maybe a third or halfway up this green. Just have it tumble along. Try and salvage something out of what’s been a horrendous hole. Oh, that’s got to settle. That’s off the right side of the green. It’s gone. to lead by five. That’ll do. This is some performance. Four birdies in the last five holes on the back nine from Tom McKibben. Can he get the right line? Lu Stasen. Hasn’t done it that much today. This looks good. Oh, great pass. Pretty fluffy sand here, but the chunking red’s not really an option. You got to be brave. Try and carry all the way onto that back step with a bit of spin. He is ridiculous, Peter. Uline. He is ridiculous. What a three. [Applause] Peter Uline with a second. Yeah, that on the way from 139 yds. There’s two on a pretty good line. [Applause] Magical McKibben. Okay. Drops it out at the last. It doesn’t matter because it’s a round of 6327 underpar. And he matches the greatest margin of victory in the Hong Kong Open. One of the world’s great tournaments stretching back to 1959. And we’ve rarely seen a more commanding performance than we’ve seen today by this 22-year-old Northern Irishman. How you doing? It’s Peter Uline. Thanks for watching the Asian Tour on YouTube. Don’t forget to like and subscribe.

Good way to stay up dated on the LIV GOLF Players 🎉
I would expect we'll be seeing a lot more of this winner in the years to come.
27 under par? Not Carnoustie is it.
Nice win🎉
Need to find a longer and more challenging course for tour pros this day and age.
Great coverage, a pleasure to watch.
