Just like countless golf fans, Paige Spiranac is devastated by the loss of Cody “Beef” Franke.
Franke, a Ferris State University graduate, was one of the hosts for “Fore Play,” a golf podcast on Barstool Sports. He brought a ton of knowledge to the show due to his work as someone with a degree in PGA Golf Management. It’s also worth noting that he gave golf lessons at courses in Wisconsin and California.

According to Barstool Sports, they lost Franke over the weekend in the Dominican Republic. His death was confirmed by Barstool founder Dave Portnoy.
“Barstool lost a member of our family this weekend,” Portnoy said. “Just tragic news. You will never find a nicer more genuine person than Beef. It’s hard to even process it right now. Just another cruel reminder that tomorrow is never promised and to live each day to its fullest.”
After this news broke, Spiranac went on social media to share her thoughts. As you’d imagine, she had nothing but kind things to say about Franke.

Prayers pouring in for Beef.
“A true gentleman. Authentic. Pure class. Wish we had a chance to spend more time together than we did. Gone way too soon. Take advantage of every day. Golf is better because of Beef,” one person said.
“Devastated. Just devastated. Thinking of his family and anybody who ever had the pleasure of meeting him,” Barstool Trent said.

“I had one interaction with Beef at this company, he spent an entire stream, laughing , cheering on coworkers and helping us with our golf swings and then demanding we go to Gibson’s to keep up the vibes,” Rico Bosco said. “One of the nicest guys in the world.”
“Beef was honestly the sweetest dude ever. Loved being around him. Dont know what else even to say. He will be missed by so many, and it makes me sad that more people won’t get a chance to know him and love him. RIP buddy,” PFT Commenter wrote on X.
Our thoughts are with Franke’s loved ones.
May he rest in peace.
