The Green Bay Packers made a big statement in front of a national TV audience on Sunday night.
And it wasn’t just the TV audience that was affected, Packers safety Javon Bullard told FOX 11 Sports Director Ryan Wing in a FOX 11 One on One interview.
“It’s one of the best feelings in the world when you walk out of a stadium that’s not your stadium and it’s just crickets,” Bullard said.
The Packers didn’t just negate one of the NFL’s biggest home-field advantages by beating the Pittsburgh Steelers 35-25 at Acrisure Stadium. They flipped it on its head, with Steelers quarterback Aaron Rodgers saying he had to go to a silent count because of crowd noise from Packers fans.
“People don’t understand how fans can really impact the game,” Bullard said.
As for going up against Rodgers, an all-time Packers great and future hall of famer, Bullard said he learned a lot from preparations and the game itself.
“It was amazing going up against him,” he said. “True competitor.”
After the Packers turned a nine-point halftime deficit into a 10-point win, Ryan asked what made the difference for the defense.
“We stayed together,” Bullard said. “We didn’t flinch.”
What made the difference for the offense was the performances of quarterback Jordan Love and tight end Tucker Kraft. Bullard shared his thoughts on those teammates.
Bullard also gave a midseason progress report on the Packers. He said the key was taking it one game at a time.
“The beauty of this league is there’s always next week,” he said.
Bullard also discussed whether the Packers were reaching their potential, even with a 5-1-1 record, and whether they are among the best teams in the NFL.

Hello everyone and thanks for watching our WUK Fox 11 one-on-one YouTube series with Packer safety Javon Bullard. How fun was it to make Pittsburgh Stadium, which gets pretty loud, pretty quiet on Sunday night? It’s amazing. It’s one of the the best feelings in the world when you walk out of a stadium that’s not your stadium and it’s just crickets. It’s it’s an amazing feeling, man. It’s amazing feeling. Aaron Rogers said he had to go silent count at home at that stadium. How much does that benefit you guys on defense? It’s huge. huge. Like I said before, like people don’t understand how fans can really impact the game. And I’ve learned that since college days, man, like fans really can impact the game. The crowd noise is is really imperative. Like it’s so important. And uh especially when you have that advantage to your side and it it was huge for us to be honest with you because they’re at home and still having to use a silent count that affects uh audles that affects check plays that affects all types of uh communication within that offense. So it’s huge for us. What was it like going up against Rogers? Uh it was amazing. Like I said, Hall of Fame quarterback. um a guy that you can continue to learn from once you watch the film. See the things that he sees, see the things that that he sees that you’re doing. You know what I’m saying? And in like the disguise part of things, but um it was amazing. It was amazing going up against him and true competitor. What did you like most about the way the defense played? Uh I feel like we stayed together through the ups and downs. Um we stayed together. We ain’t flinch. You know, we done been in adverse situations before. And uh you know, at the end of the day, it’s still football. You got to do your job. You got to trust in one another, trust in your coaches, trust in the preparation that you put in early in the week, and just do your job. Cuz at the end of the day, um you you go out there and give all you got, that’s going to be enough for us to win the game. What’ you like when you’re watching Jordan Love on the sidelines? What’s going through your head when you see like 20 straight passes, 360? Just just 10 being 10, you know, um the more times we put the ball in his hands, the more the up the chance we going to have to win that game. And I and I truly believe that. And this team believes that. So, as a defensive guy, we’re trying to get that ball back to back in 10’s hands as much as possible. He played pretty well. Tucker Craft on National Tight end day, showing why he’s one of the best tight ends in the league. You go up against him all the time during training camp, during practice, stuff like that. What makes him so difficult to defend? His want to to me, I mean, like Tuck wants to be the best. He trains like he’s the best. Um, he practices like he’s the best. And and like everything he does, he does with an extreme amount of effort. people don’t um understand like he he he prides himself on not going down by one person. No matter if that’s a D line, a linebacker or a DB, he he wants to get in the end zone every time he gets his hands on the ball. And and it’s huge for our team that that motor and and his motive of just um wanting to be better, not only for himself, but for the team. It’s huge. We’re about the halfway point of the season now. What do you like about where your team is at as a whole? Uh, I feel like we just taking it one game at a time, man. Um, had a few hiccups in the past, but the beauty of it, man, the seasons were 18 weeks long, so we had time to correct those things that we um lacked and we correct those things that we needed to fix. And the beauty of this league, man, it’s always next week, you know, once there is. And, uh, we taking it one week at a time, trying to go one and0 each week. You’re 51 and one. You’re sitting at top the NFC. I think you guys would probably say you still haven’t played your best football. Is that exciting to know that you’re still playing well, but like there’s an even greater high to get to. That’s the That’s the beauty of it, man. That’s the fun part in this cuz we like we haven’t played like we haven’t even scratched the surface of what this team can do and the fact that we’re still winning games. It speaks volumes of us, but it’s also the midpoint of the season like you said before. So, it is time for us to take that step of being the team that we’re capable of being on all fa on all phases of the of the game, man. Special teams, offense, and defense. We need to take that step and being one of the best teams in the NFL. Do you feel like you are right now one of the best teams? For sure. For sure. And uh and and I I can say that proudly. I do feel like we are one of the best teams in this league, but we got to continue to show that week in and week out, you know, cuz it’s the National Football League is the best of the best. And any given Sunday, you may feel like you’re the best, but you can get outplayed. So, we got to come with our best foot forward every Sunday for sure. Panthers up next as the Packers return to Lambo. Thanks for watching our WUK one-on-one YouTube page. Make sure to subscribe and like us. Thanks for watching.
