This course isn’t even open to the public yet, but when it does, it’s going to be one of the most exciting new public tracks in the state. We’re on course 113 in my journey to play every golf course in Colorado, and today we’re at Bell Ridge Golf Club in Johntown. The land used to be a working dairy farm, and instead of selling it for development, family decided to build something the whole community can enjoy, an affordable, well-designed golf course. And you can feel it walking around. wide corridors off the tea, greens with real character in a layout that feels welcoming for everyday players, but sells enough teeth for better players to stay on edge. Honestly, it feels like a mashup of Walnut Creek and TPC Colorado. What makes it special are the scoring chances. There’s dryable par fours mixed with extra long par4s combined with exciting parfs and a routing that rewards creativity without ever really feeling gimmicky. Even in the growin stage, you can still see the bones are really strong at this golf course. And yeah, I technically tied the course record here. Doesn’t matter that it’s unofficial, but I’m counting it. So, here’s how it scored. Difficulty 8.3. Fair off the tea, but those greens and angles make you work. Should you visit? 9.3. Once it opens, this instantly will become a mustplay public course. Fun factor 9.2. Dragable par4s, great par fives, and a layout that just makes you want to play again. Still on track to finish every course in Colorado by April of 2040. 113 down and Bella Ridge might be the best new public course around.
