KAILUA-KONA, Hawai’i – The Washington women’s golf team completed the second round of the Nanea Invitational today, finishing the day in 10th place with a team score of 306 for the round.

After a standout first round, Athena Ni carded six-over par today to sit in 29th with a one-over for the tournament. Mads Smith led the Huskies with a strong even-par round, highlighted by six birdies, to move into 55th overall.

Carmen Lim followed closely behind with a steady one-over par on the day, sitting 48th at 153 overall. Claudia Alnajim and Wendy Tang finished the day at seven-over, with Alnajim sitting at 46th overall, and Tang in 56th.

Competing as an individual, Amber Li shot +5 and stands 58th heading into the final round.

“We got off to a solid start today and Mads and Carmen were able to finish it out,” said head coach Anna Temple. “We’ve had some good scores, we just need to finish our rounds and get more than two scores in a given round. We’re excited to get after it again tomorrow!”

The Huskies will tee off tomorrow for the third and final round at Nanea Golf Club, with a shotgun start scheduled for 10:30 a.m. PT.
