MONTEREY, Calif. – J.P. Odland and the Santa Clara men’s golf program were outstanding in the final round of the 2025 Preserve Golf Course Collegiate. Odland tied his career-low of 8-under par with a 64 in Tuesday’s final round at the par 72, 7,138-yard Santa Lucia Preserve to ascend 29 spots in the standings with a 9-under 207 total that put him in sole possession of fourth place. The Broncos also made a big move as a team in the final round as they shot a collective 14-under 274 to climb four spots and finish in sixth place at 16-under 848.

ROUND HIGHLIGHTS:

Santa Clara was just 2-over par following the first 36 holes of action. The Broncos were unable to get through the entirety of the second round as part of a 36-hole day on Monday before play was suspended due to darkness. The final few holes of the second round were knocked out on Tuesday, and the third round began immediately after.
The Broncos’ 14-under tally on Tuesday tied for the third-lowest round of any of 11 teams in the field throughout the tournament.
Santa Clara tallied the second-most eagles (4) and birdies (67) over the course of the three rounds. All four of those eagles and 24 birdies came in the final round alone.
Odland’s 8-under 64 tied his season and career-low score-to-par previously set in the final round of the Palouse Collegiate on Sept. 10 (8-under 63).
A junior from Tiburon, Calif., Odland was sensational in the final round, finishing with seven birdies and an eagle against one bogey. His front nine alone featured six birdies and the eagle on the par-5 No. 8 hole.
Odland’s finish was his best of the fall season and is the 10th top-10 finish of his career, moving him into a tie with Rick Lamb for the fifth-most in program history.
Grad transfer Kevin Hollomon also finished inside the top-10 for the first time in his Bronco Career. The Colgate transfer was a season-best 6-under 69-72-69–210 to tie for ninth place.
Hollomon carded not one, but two eagles in his final round. Like Odland, he did so on No. 8 and also on No. 13.
Matt Robles shot 1-under 71 in the final round to also secure a top-20 finish at 17th with a 54-hole score of 4-under 212.
Calder Overfelt shook off a 6-over start by carding 2-under 70 in the final round to climb 19 spots in the final standings and tie for 42nd while Emil Nilsen finished three strokes behind in a tie for 53rd at 7-over 223.
Playing as an individual, freshman Max Margolis also finished his time at the Preserve Golf Course on a high note with an even par 72 in the final round. He was the third Bronco on the day to sink an eagle putt on the par-5 No. 8 hole.
BYU ran away with the team title with a 29-under 835 total. Oregon’s Sebastian Desoisa also ran away with individual honors, winning by five strokes at 17-under 199.
