Umar Nurmagomedov vs Mario Bautista FULL FIGHT HIGHLIGHTS RECAP | UFC 321 (Abu Dhabi)

October 25, 2025 — Umar Nurmagomedov bounced back in dominant fashion at UFC 321, defeating Mario Bautista by unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27) in Abu Dhabi. The Dagestani contender survived an early knockdown, overcame adversity, and reminded the bantamweight division why his last name still carries championship weight.

Fighting for the first time since his title loss to Merab Dvalishvili at UFC 311, Umar showed no hesitation returning to his wrestling-heavy roots. He immediately took Bautista down and controlled large stretches of the opening round — though Bautista nearly stunned the crowd by locking in a dangerous toe hold submission attempt that Nurmagomedov narrowly escaped.

The second round brought even more chaos. Bautista landed a clean flying knee that dropped Nurmagomedov hard, forcing him to shoot for a desperate takedown. But true to the Dagestani style, Umar recovered, reestablished control, and spent the remainder of the fight imposing relentless pressure from top position. By Round 3, Nurmagomedov was fully in command, chaining together takedowns, ground control, and heavy strikes to seal a unanimous decision victory.

With the win, Umar improves to 19-1, ending Mario Bautista’s eight-fight win streak and putting himself back in the title conversation. After the fight, Nurmagomedov called out the winner of Merab Dvalishvili vs Petr Yan 2, set for UFC 323 in December, promising to return “100 times better” and reclaim the bantamweight title.

Umar Nurmaggumadov versus Mario Batista has just wrapped up and the Nurmagumadov name remains strong. Fresh off his first career loss to Morab Dvalish Villi. Umar was looking to bounce back against the tricky MMA lab export. With Jason Herszog as referee, they bumped fists and it was on. Early on, Batista delivered a body kick with a concussive thud, but Nurmaggumov snatched the limb and wrangled him to the mat. When Batista scrambled up, Nurmaggumov violently Matt returned him. Batista tried a desperate ankle lock, cranking as hard as he could, but Umar toughed it out and established side control. The second round exploded when Batista timed a picture perfect knee while Normaggadov was ducking, sending the Russian crashing to the canvas. But like a true Normagadov, he blinked it out and went right back after the takedown. Once secured, he got back control with the body triangle, following every scramble Batista attempted. The third round saw Batista racing forward with punches, sensing he was down on the scorecards. But Nurmagamodov’s grappling game was just too much. Constant takedowns, side control, chaining submissions. Even when Batista fought valiantly to escape, Umar kept controlling him on the mat. With 13 seconds left, Batista finally freed himself and they banged it out, but it was too little, too late. Nurmagamadov walked off and raised his arms, 30-27 across the board. Unanimous decision for Umar Nurmagamadov. A dominant bounceback performance. Let me know your thoughts in the comments down below. And be sure to leave a like and subscribe if you guys enjoy.
