KAILUA-KONA, Hawai’i – The University of Hawai’i women’s golf team posted its best single-round score at the Nanea Golf Club with a 3-over 295 Monday in the first round of the Nanea Invitational.
 
In 11 previous trips to the Hawai’i Island course, UH’s best previous score was 302, most recently in 2022. The Rainbow Wahine currently sit in ninth place, ahead of No. 42 Oregon State and No. 97 Washington.
 
Freshman Chloe Ku posted a 3-under 70 and is tied for ninth place. The score tied the best single-round by a UH golfer ever at the tournament matching Hyeonji Kang’s opening round 70 in 2022 .
 
Emiko Sverduk carded her best round in four trips to Nanea with even par 73 and is tied for 32nd place. Jasmine Wong and Maline Kraus each shot 3-over 76 and are tied for 49th while Sofina Firouzi posted 81 and is in 59th place.
 
Auburn leads the team standings at 21-under 271 followed by Arizona State (275), Stanford (282), Texas (287), and California (287).
 
Individually Auburn’s Charlotte Cantonis is the first round leader at 8-under 65, one stroke ahead of teammate Anna Davis and ASU’s Isla McDonald O’Brien.
 
The tournament continues on Tuesday with Round 2 beginning at 7:30 a.m. HT.
