Check this clip out. I was at the writer cup. Yeah. And I rented a house from the owner. Sure. He came over to do pictures and I was meet and greet. Thank him for for allowing me to stay in the house. And he had a basketball court. He says, “I want you to shoot one free throw.” I know for sure he picked up a ball in 2022. For for our fantasy purposes, we’ll we’ll just No, I mean, I enjoyed watching that. I think it was like a three minute interview. Uh I believe half of it was talking about uh when he went to the R I think it was Rder Cup owners home and he got challenged to shoot a free throw. Uh he said it was like years ago or something. I I know Brandon Miller was drafted by the Hornets in 2022 uh in in high in the lottery. I think he was a number two pick in Charlotte. He told a story at the time that he was shooting free throws with Michael Jordan and he was trash talking Michael Jordan. So that was three years ago. So we do know that. We do know I don’t know how long ago this was, but at least three years ago Brandon Miller and Michael Jordan I think Brandon Miller the story goes he saw Michael Jordan airball a free throw. So uh shout out Brandon Miller. I’m just refreshing memory. So I don’t know how long ago this was. Was this after the Brandon Miller uh on court? Was it several years after? We gota we got to do some now. How could it be several years? Several years is like this. It was like a month ago. Yeah. But he said but he says in the interview like I haven’t picked up a basketball in years. The last time I picked it up was insert story. No. No. I think the year was we got to figure out the year. He said he hadn’t picked up a basketball in years whenever he was asked to shoot the free throw. That’s why he felt the pressure. So So Pat, me as a listener, I’m hearing that and I’m like what’s years is years five years, six years? I know for sure he picked up a ball in 2022. So that’s probably he air ball free throw. He said I’m never doing that again. I’m going to go golf. Then he did it and then he made it. So the ending the let’s just for for our fantasy purposes we’ll we’ll just me as a So what are my thoughts about this? Here’s the thing. Michael Jordan is obviously a legendary figure in sports and culture and anytime someone brings up claims about his personality or habits, it’s going to trigger reactions. I think what Shams is saying isn’t malicious. It’s just an observation about how Jordan might present himself, but fans are naturally protective of his image. Jordan’s accomplishments are so iconic that even the suggestion he might exaggerate can feel like a challenge to the whole narrative. At the same time, discussions like this can be kind of fun because they make us think about how legends are perceived versus how they might really behave behind the scenes. It’s also a reminder that even the greatest figures in history have critics and it doesn’t take away from their achievements. It just adds layers to the conversation.
