Former World Number One Adam Scott overcame the threat of losing his DP World Tour card with an accomplished display at the 2025 Genesis Championship.

Scott was on the bubble ahead of the final event on the Back 9 of the 2025 campaign at Woo Jeong Hills Country Club, where the top 115 in the Race to Dubai rankings after the tournament would retain their playing privileges.

Occupying the 115th position when teeing off, the Australian knew he need to make the cut to improve his chances although he would have been fearful after an opening round of 74.

The cut line moved to one over on Friday, however, the 45-year-old showed his Major-winning mentality by carding six birdies and two bogeys in his 67 to reach one under and advance to the weekend.

He moved into contention following a 68 on Moving Day before finishing the tournament in at tie for 30th at three under par, jumping Scott up to 108 on the rankings and securing his card for next season.

American Jordan Gumberg admitted he produced the “best shot of my career so far” as he holed out for a miraculous eagle on the 72nd hole in Cheonan.

Gumberg needed a finish of 14th place or better in the final regular-season event to climb into the top 115, and he was sitting in 20th on the leaderboard – and projected 122 in the rankings – when lining up his third shot at the par-five last.

He landed his approach just on the green before the ball headed towards the pin and found the bottom of the cup, sparking jubilant scenes from the 30-year-old as he finished in a tie for seventh. Gumberg rose to 110th in the Race to Dubai rankings.

Yuto Katsuragawa needed a brilliant performance in South Korea and he did just that with a superb five-under 66 on Friday to support his level-par 71 in his first round.

The Japanese star, who was one off the halfway lead, remained in contention with a 70 on Moving Day, but two bogeys in his first ten holes in the fourth round so him at risk.

Katsuragawa bounced back with three birdies in four holes from the 12th, only to drop another shot at the 16th.

However, he birdied the last for the second day in succession to seal a fourth-placed finish on seven under which catapulted him up 40 places in the rankings to 91st as a result.

Thomas Detry, who finished 44th on the FedEx Cup Ranking on the PGA TOUR this year thanks to victory Stateside at the WM Phoenix Open, has struggled to make his weeks count on the DP World Tour this season, with a best of tied 12th at the Amgen Irish Open.

He targeted a spot in the top 70 of the rankings despite heading into the week in 129th, which only a runner-up or victory could achieve that feat.

Lifting his maiden DP World Tour title may have gone out of the window but the pressure ramped up on the last hole on Sunday, but he coolly tapped in for the birdie needed – after narrowly his eagle putt – to earn his playing rights for the 2026 campaign.

Junghwan Lee celebrated his three-shot victory by accepting a DP World Tour membership and will be teeing it up in Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship after climbing up to 63rd position.
