so right here when I come in with this hand what I’m trying to do is keep this Gap together you can see how that’s squeezed together now don’t go like this and uh you know have the thumb against you can see my thumb kind of Curves away it kind of creates a little V right here but I’m looking at this line okay and you literally glue that to the side of your hand why that’s important is because if this is together that determines the position across your palm without you having to guess where it goes you know a lot of people are trying to guess here that’s what I did a long time ago all you have to do is keep that together if that’s together it will run perfectly across your palm okay so keep this together right here now as we come in with this hand what I’m going to do with that together I’m going to move my hand in until I feel the thumb just slightly off center okay and I know that because I can feel it in the pad right here the pad of my thumb that is weak right there I can feel that that is down the front surface of the grip if I just move it off center I can feel that in the pad of my thumb you can see that this is together and this line is pointing between my back ear and shoulder when I look down I see two Knuckles one two some people their Knuckles don’t protrude like this so if you don’t see your knuckles check for the thumb position and the line okay so this would be weak right here one knuckle this would be strong you can see how my thumb goes more off to the side one two three I see the third knuckle that is strong the line points outside my shoulder so I would back this off okay so that would be a neutral position together here I feel the thumb thumb pad just slightly off center and I see two Knuckles all right

  1. Except you should hold the club in your fingers, not your palm. Therefore, you are starting your setup from the completely wrong premise.

  2. I am gonna binge watch your vids. Have deen soooooo many pros explaining different aspects but they make it so technical rather than the actual feel.

I mostly hope to feel the natural rhytm of the swing. After taking classes i am.over analysing and dont seem to understand how to initiate the back swing. Some say do a mini squat then and pull the club down but then i just hit into the ground. If i do it intuitive i thin all my shots.

  3. I had this realization yesterday! Marked a line across my thumb and hand as a reminder. I was even thinking about something to help stick my thumb like velcro on the glove for a training aid! I think this might be the best way to teach a grip yet I never hear it
