I challenged a HEAD PRO at HIS OWN course… (Ep. 1 – Heswall GC)

[Applause] This is Mercury side and this is Hezel Golf. [Applause] Okay, welcome down. This is Hezwall Golf Club and this is a head pro series video. Now, if you’ve not watched these before, format’s pretty simple. We travel around different golf courses taking on the Headpro in an 18hole match. And I’m very excited about today. We’re at Hezwall. It’s a beautiful course on the D estster. And we have an absolutely full squad. We have Jacob, we have Sam, we have Kieran, we have David, and we have Mick lurking in the background just as he was before his court case. It’s just it’s just it’s just completely unnecessary. So last year we traveled around the UK and Ireland filming five videos. This year we have three. We have Hezwall, we’re going to Carlile and then we’re finishing up at Cray Golfing Society in F. Three incredible courses against three great pros. Last time it was a halved series. One, two, lost two, Harved one. Game is feeling okay. I’ve not actually played on a golf course in a few weeks after having lots of travel. I think I’m officially the best putter in the world. It just depends how the rest of the game shapes up and of course how my opponent today shapes up as well. And his name is Tom Atkinson. I’ve been here since 1997, believe it or I started as a non-golfer really. There was a job coming up. I didn’t fancy uni. 28 years later, I’m still here. Tom, Peter, welcome. Dog leg right. 421 yards I think off the white TE’s. Anything straight left. Great peak for you. And anything for me is sort of down the right with an easier shot up to the uh the uphill green. Aim it towards the bridge in Wales there and you’re going to have a good shot. Okay, easy enough. Do you want to lead us away? Do I? Okay, let’s go. Right, Pete. I got a Titus, too. My name on, mate. Oh, you got your name on it. I got It’s got like a little I got like a play well. If you want, you know, you want to make this an easy hole and drive. Okay. So, see, see the bridge in the distance. So, it’s it’s saying it’s a yellow flag. So, it’s roughly in the middle. Kind of in the middle. It’s clo it’s over to the left hand side of the green. There’s a fair. You’re probably looking at that. You’ve got about 10 yards before it drops off to the left. Okay. So, where where the drone is now, just inside the drone. Okay. It doesn’t need It’s not going to run. It’s not like a huge borrow on it. So, have you have you done this before? A couple of times. Yeah. So, you were assistant under Allen as well? Assistant under Allen for 15 years and then took over from him in 2012, I think it was. Yeah. So if you don’t know if you don’t know Nean Thompson, he’s uh well an incredibly experienced probably Toby Fleetwood’s coach, but obviously coached a lot of players because there was a lot of lot of very good players that have been playing here. They’ve come from this court. Yeah, we’ve got a bit of a name for sort of producing uh you know, decent golfers, you know, through through the sort of ranks through the the the Cheshire England setup and then back into into Toro stuff. Yeah. Well, uh we’ll find all the names and we’ll put them up here. I mean, it’s just Tommy Fleetwood. Tommy Fleetwood’s a big name. Yeah, there’s loads. Is he one of those guys that everyone claims though? Uh they might do now cuz like Ian W used to live down in Shropshire and Ian Wenom lived in every single course in Shropshire was. Yeah, he’s ours. He’s ours. Yeah. Yeah. No, Tommy Fleetwood belongs to Southport but Alan was his coach from here. Yeah. Which basically means it is here. It’s it. What are you What are you thinking here? Um across. I mean, obviously you’re going to have to get it up fairly, but you need to make sure you take enough to clear that it’s those trees there go further back.
