ALPHARETTA, Ga. — Led by senior Mahanth Chirravuri’s runner-up finish, the No. 14/19 Pepperdine men’s golf team finished its fall season by tying for fourth place at the Golf Club of Georgia Collegiate on Sunday.
Chirravuri finished with a three-round total of 207 (-9), giving him a team-leading third top-10 finish of the fall season. His 9-under 207 was also his best three-round score of the season so far. Fellow senior Brady Siravo finished in a tie for ninth (-3), which gave the Waves two players in the top 10.
Virginia became the first team to win the Golf Club of Georgia Collegiate three times with its three-round team score of 840 (-24). The next-closest team to the Cavaliers was runner-up Duke (-9), while USC (-7) leapfrogged the Waves into the top three. Pepperdine tied with Georgia Tech (-4) and was two strokes ahead of sixth-place Charlotte (-3).
PLAYER SCORES
Senior Mahanth Chirravuri finished 2nd with a three-round score of 207 (-9). Chirravuri had three birdies and an eagle on a par-5 No. 9 in his final round, giving him a team-high three eagles in the tournament. He was in the lead for the final three holes before Duke’s Bryan Kim birdied his last two holes to win the tournament.
Fellow senior Brady Siravo finished tied for 9th with a three-round score of 213 (-3). Siravo had two birdies and an eagle on a par-5 No. 18 to earn his second top-10 finish of the fall season.
Junior Willy Walsh finished tied for 41st with a three-round score of 222 (+6). He moved up 14 places in the final round, which was the biggest move by any Wave on the day.
Sophomore Luke Bailey finished tied for 60th with a three-round score of 227 (+11).
Sophomore Byungho Lee finished tied for 60th with a three-round score of 227(+11).
