National developer Pulte Homes has purchased 21.3 acres in Broward County, intending to move forward with a townhome community.
The site, which formerly hosted the Margate Executive Golf Course, could find new life as Coral Edge. The venture would comprise 132 townhomes. Each home would feature three bedrooms and two-and-a-half bathrooms, spanning about 1,690 to 1,730 square feet. The thoughtfully designed residences will also come with integrated smart home technology, energy-efficient appliances, and modern finishings.
Communal amenities at Coral Edge would include a resort-style swimming pool, fitness center, and other offerings focused on health and wellness. The community will be located near many major highways, including the Sawgrass Expressway and Florida Turnpike.

Currently, homes are priced from the high $500,000s, with most homes priced in the mid-$600,000s. Zillow reports that the average value of a single-family home in Margate is currently $293,569. Sales for Coral Edge are expected to launch in mid-2026, with the community expected to open later that year.
As noted, Pulte Homes is the developer. The firm has a history of developing communities on defunct golf courses. Coral Edge is not without opposition; some citizens are concerned about the increased traffic the community could bring.
Coral Edge is set for the former site of the Margate Executive Golf Course, located at 7870 Margate Blvd, Margate, FL, 33063, in Broward County.
