That’s where he’s aiming. I know what I’m dealing with. In this bag, you can see there’s one yellow ball and two white balls. We’re here at the Marriott Worley Park. A little Wesley Park bag. Today, we’re going to do a fun little challenge. Me, Guy, Robo, we are going to play. We’ve never done this. No. We’re actually going to play together as a team. Normally we’re going against each other, but today we play as a team, but it’s with a twist. No banter. In this bag, as I mentioned, there’s one yellow ball, two white balls. We are going to play 18 holes today. And our objective is to break 75 because normally you’re trying to break 70. I’m trying to break 75. You’re trying to break 80. Together, as an average, we should be trying to break 75. How this going to work? If you pull the yellow ball out, it’s your turn to play that hole. We only have one yellow ball. If you lose it on the first, this is going to be a very short video. Okay. Now, there’s no other rules to this. Someone might pull it out 10 times. Someone might only pull it out once. But if you pull the ball out, it is your turn to play. Now, caveat. I’ve not warmed up. I really do not want to pull the yellow ball out the bag. So, James, close your eyes. I’m going to give you the honor. Oh my days. I want you to get them all. James, be easy. Let me give these a good twist in here. Let me give these a good twist. Uh. [Music] Oh no. He’s not playing guy. Come on. 50/50. Know what’s going to happen here? It’s going to get lost. End the video. [Laughter] So guy is playing the first hole. Possible before. Seriously now we’ve got to try and break 75. You’re going to make some birdies. You’ll make some birdies. I’ll make some piles and bogeies. Would it be bad to play an iron off the tea? I love mini driver. Okay. Mini driver. Aim left. Yeah. Mini driver. Left is your friend. Left is okay. Left is your friend. Right doesn’t look good. And we’ve got Listen, just go and get your mini driver. Right, that wasn’t that. It would have been nice to start with the birdie. I would have really liked you to have got the ball there. But to be honest, guy is a fantastic iron player. His driver’s been a bit sketchy. He’s very good with mini driver as long as he gets mini driver in play. We are now our our job on this hole is to be cheerleaders, support system, caddies. We need to give him the most encouragement. Mentor, mentors. Okay, come on then, guy. Put the ball back in there. We’ll save that one. What’s the chances? Eh, is that the worst possible swing thought? A swing thought is aim as far left as possible or if we’re going to go right, go massively right. Now, tell me what you’re going to do. I’m going to hit it over this T marker here. That’s That’s it. Always starts with what you’re going to do, not what you’re not going to do. Okay. Straight over the T marker. Go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go. I think that’s going to be over the trees. I think it’s over. Just that is not ideal. I’m sorry. Not ideal. Send the search party out. I know. You know what we need to do? We need to train a dog who can find yellow ball. And to kick things off, we’ve come into a buggy. We’ve got a flat. So, me and James are going to have to swap boogies. We had two bad things. First of all, punch her and get his T-shot. Okay, first T-shot gone. That was horrendous. That was absolutely horrendous. Hopefully it went far enough right to be on the second hole. I can’t let these guys down. I can’t keep doing shots like that. Hopefully, I don’t get the yellow ball too many times. Fingers crossed. The place you couldn’t miss was right. The only place to not go. The place guy missed was right now. Luckily, if if it’s carried, which I honestly do think it has, if it’s carried, we’ll find it and he will be able to play it. It’s just a very difficult very difficult shot. Yeah. The good news is I’ve par first hole. If you spin round, look through that gap. That’s the second hole. You can see a nice bright yellow ball. That’s our ball, baby. We’re in play. So, just so you know that we’re not fudging this. It’s must have hit the path. It came over these trees, hit one of the paths, and there she is. Right. Where’s the line, though? Now, looking at I would go over this little tree. How far do you think? This little tree. Yeah. Well, I was the 150 is where the buggy is, but my wasn’t working. I was in 187. Yeah. I think just over this little tree. Is that Are you sure? Yeah. This one? Yeah. Is that not too far right? No. See, I think I don’t I don’t want to say you’re wrong, but I think you’re wrong. I think it’s Is it that little? I’d go I’d go between these two trees. I think eight iron’s enough. Can you imagine just 18 holes of guide? Can you draw it? Guide pulls pulls it out 18 times. James just asked me, can I draw it after that first wet rough? Yeah. With an eight iron. I’ll try over that gap then if you’re saying. Perfect. That’s perfect. Might be just just right at the flag, I think. Perfect, I guess. Rocking. You want me having that yellow ball? Don’t forget it. That was great. My ball. Oh, it’s pin high. Thought it was good. Right. Yeah. Good line. Good line. How the emotions can change. I’ve gone from feeling embarrassed and letting the team down in an eight iron. That’s like looks 30 foot pin high. Right. Yes. Yes. I think he’s going to do all right. Well, that shot has made up for that first one. That first one with the ball in, but I think he’s just played an absolute worldy there. He’s got the nervous one off his Well, it was like soggy, wet, rough that and he’s flushed it somehow. New irons in the bag, too. Yeah, great shot that, mate. Oh, really good. Wow. Happy with that. Right, first hole. Something we didn’t expect to be saying after that T-shot. Guys got a birdie put. Well, you can help with line. We’re literally a team today. Full team. me. It’s very much down. I’ll do what you say. I’ll try and do what you say. Imagine if guy pulls it 18 times. We just did coaching guy around the golf course. What do you think, Rick? Left or right? I’d have gone. That’s Yeah, sorry. I’d have gone left. He’s saying right. No, it’s left to right. Downhill. It’s coming this way. Jame, don’t forget James. You don’t believe in paradise. Right. Just go straight at it. I’ll get the pace right. End of the day, Rick paid my wages, so I’ll go with what Rick says. I think it’s going to be it’s down and it’s downhill and it’s Can I go straight and meet you halfway? It’s going to fall this way a tiny bit. I’ll go at it. Straight at it. Dead straight. Sit down. Tiny bit of tiny bit of movement after the hole. Got to keep your eyes on it. It was super downhill. Yeah, I didn’t see that. Like I see that left edge. Yeah, you see that left side. It kind of switches. It’s all right. Bogey on the first. No harm done. Not too bad. Could have been worse. No, but it should have been a par. I’m sorry. I wouldn’t be that bothered with bogey on the first half that T-shot, but letting the guys down, I feel quite bad now. Certainly on the putting green. That’s not where I should be messing up. I’m going to let you choose this time. And the problem is I know your reaction might get it again. You’re going to be so upset. But I’ll choose that. I’ll choose. I’ve not chosen yet. Oh, I’m on. You like this hole, Rick? I do like this hole. Good hole. What I’d do here is Rick, I play a little soft draw. I’m I might well do this on the first. Do you feel a bit nervous now? I I want you to do cuz I felt very nervous. It’s a new weapon. You know what? You know what I’d be happier? You know what would be really good if you said like if you’ve had the first hole there. It’s like I’ve had the first hole so I’m not now going to get the second or third. But there’s no guarantee. Like here I don’t particularly want the third. Third’s the hardest hole on the golf course. But just because I’ve got the second doesn’t mean I’m not gonna get the third. So it doesn’t Yeah. Just got to stand there and hit. Just gonna hit it just down that left hand side. Left is your friend. Yeah, that’s fine. I’ve actually hit that really well. Straight at the flag. Let’s get over that. Oh yeah, nice big. This is actually great because obviously I’ve played golf basically all my life and I was never any good at football or any of the team sports really. So golf is very much individual but playing like this as a team. It’s great. It’s good. There is that bit of pressure though. As I said, I don’t want to let the guys down. But when they hit good shots, you can celebrate with them or they can hopefully celebrate with me in a few holes. If I hit a good shot, that’s what it’s all about today. 102 yards. He’s got balls above his feet. Slight down slope. We just want to be on the green, don’t we? Really? Yeah. Well, close, but on the green. We’re going to be more positive than that. You can get redemption on this. It looks a good hole. This right Gon. It’s where we need you here. The hardest hole on the entire golf course. Stroke index one. You got it, mate. You can do this. What you thinking? Just a little draw. Well, you’re asking me and I think a little draw is if I can stand up there and go, “Yeah, play a little draw.” I’m thinking first of all, hit the golf ball. Second of all, put it in play. Don’t lose the yellow. How many yards is this hole? Uh, it’s probably about 390 400. I don’t know. This is the worst hole for me to have. 434. But on the flip side, I think a positive if if I can end up paring this hole now, that’s going to give me confidence around. Great shot. Perfect. Great shot. Right off of the fairway. I finned it, but I don’t care. Very nice. That’ll do. Yeah. So good. I can still see it. Well done. Well done. I’m going to mentor you up this. That’s what I need because genuinely I say to you then off the camera. I actually get quite nervous because obviously people are going to watch the video but I don’t genuinely I don’t let you guys down. No. Well, it’s it’s a team game today. It is. I can’t give you any any chip. I like that you’re being nice to me today cuz normally you’re in my ear. I know. You’re in my ear though. I am in your ear. Give what I get. Yeah. 182. Do you think it’s a six or a five? Uh off the ups slope I’d go five. How far would you hit that off the flat normally? 195. What’s the I do think if there’s a bit of wind helping I do think I could smash a six there and I would feel more comfortable with a six in my head a six is a mid iron and a five is a long iron. Well the flag looks fairly central. The green behind it I think that wind’s that wind given us a little bit slight help. It’s a six. Okay we get m a six then this golf club has never ever been hit. I literally the wrap off it this morning. So, it’s literally this golf club’s first experience hitting a golf ball is gonna be right now. Straight at the flag. That’s straightened up nicely. That’s really good. Go a golf shot. A bit short edge. You know, how do you think that club has literally grown up wanting to be a golf club? That’s the first. How do you think? How do you think it’s, you know, it’s been looking forward to that moment all of its life and it’s now experienced it. How do you think it’s You’ve just popped it cherish. Did it have a good time? Seven out of 10. Would you agree? Maybe a six and a half. I mean, it wasn’t terrible. But when you pop your cherry the first time, normally only the first time. There’s a bit of a clean up now, but it’ll be okay. birdie opportunity here on number three after a great sixiron from guy. What what break are you seeing? I’m seeing like a Rick’s foot now. He’s his I don’t see that much between his toe and the hole. I see. Okay, but it’s uphill. It’s all about the pace. Feel it in there, mate. Okay, if I can par this now, I think I’ll redeem myself cuz it’s stroking next one. So, that first hole wasn’t great. Which way did you drop that brake in? Is it going that way? This way. Which way? No, this is definitely right to left. This is why I’ve got two supposeding good players. One’s saying it’s going right to left once it’s left to right. It’s definitely going that way and then it goes that way at the end. Go straight. Go straight. But if you get it if you get it to that far away, do you think it’s left to right? It’s got to be right to left to start. It’s left to right. Yeah, but that’s not going to affect it. It’s going too fast through that bit. We were right. [Laughter] Right to left. God, don’t ask us to read a book again. But on a serious note, yeah, I want to get the four. Of course I do. If he decided when I got the board in this tea, it’s a five. A little bit into breeze. James has actually put his jacket on. No. Four rolls are spectated. Five. Um I think you need a full five, don’t you? Yeah. Yeah. One. But then seeing Rick absolutely nail a five iron on this par three. So what looks to be about 10 15t, we’re now starting to get things going. Yeah, course is course is nice considering it’s middle of October. Course is looking good. Yeah. Um that swing. You might get to play it. I’ve still not played the front nine. Big put. Big moment. Okay. Fairly straight. Birdie opportunity to get back to level. I’m not reading it for him. He’s best put I’ve ever seen. It’d be nice with two par fives coming up if we can get back to level. No, I tried to absolutely wall up it cuz when I’ve hit balls recently, all I’ve been thinking is um speed or just hit it as hard as I can and it goes straighter. So, when I try and feather one down dead straight true, did it? Fairway. We found James’s T-shot just in the right rough. It could have done we’re going five yards further left because it would have been straight line. If you just look from here, it’s just got a bit of an overhanging oak tree. Uh 20 Did you say 246? 24. Yeah, it is. Yeah. 246. You got a little fivewood. Little choppy fivewood. Fivewood’s perfect. Yeah. Nice. All day. Do you even need to shape it with the five or just go straight over the tree? Shape cut. James’ shot has missed the bunker. It’s in this decent spot here. This is the kind of bread and butter shot for him. It should be an up and down. No pressure. Not ideal. Would have loved him to get the birdie. But what is unique with this format and obviously James felt it then is he hit a few shots the net before we teed off that you guys didn’t see. And he’s not hit a shot then till the 50. So four holes. It’s quite a cold day of not swinging. So, you don’t have that kind of momentum in your golf swing. And you might not play another hole now for another five holes. Or equally, you could play this hole. I don’t know it obviously yet. That is what’s quite hard. I think one over so far is decent. I’ll take that. I’ve got the bag. Who do we want for this hole really? I don’t think it matters. We’re going to get a birdie. Yeah. Birdie sign. Don’t look. I’m not looking. Don’t ruin the video. And pretty much it’s worked out perfectly that James had these two holes as well. But can he actually do something with it rather than just making a part? Very boring. I’m warmed up now.
