it’s League one for now but maybe not for long the lights are back on at St Andrews huge so Birmingham and Newcastle start on the referee’s first whistle well it is that time on a Saturday evening Birmingham city will be looking to start [Applause] well what a great start that actually is really positive play get the ball forward you feel birmingh going to get it wide Get Low to crosses into the box this evening put that Newcastle back four right under pressure work to do for Newcastle United already deep Corner headed back in and it’s in into the net hammered in by Ethan lad oh what A noise oh what a [Applause] start inside a minute this time the boots on the other foot y the magnitude of that is way on the players I think Ed H very aware of that that it’s good work by liento if he can get there he did there might be an opportunity now but that’s a good block Tackle by claraa sense the danger players in black and white stripes as far out of the box as they dare to be chi to the back again Clara waiting for it and oh what a save by pop it was a terrific effort from cashi Anderson oh what a hit lovely technique on the left foot head of back cross look at that for a volley little deflection as well I think of Dan burn it’s actually a good reaction from Pope I have to say he had to didn’t have much time this is a great angle just to see that little flip from burn off his hand and Wilson has wriggled free can’t get it through to Willock but he’s still bundling on is Callum Wilson chipped into the box of the back it’s osula willik tried to turn it in second attempt is high first attempt was incredibly kept [Applause] out what a stop that it is oh hang on if it is a stop no it went in it went in can you believe it I wondered how he uh how he hadn’t scored poke away beautifully collected by William Ula he’s got Wilson with him he’s got will overa but he went to try and beat peacock barl on his own Zone he thought about trying again long sta livero willix there again Wilson goes to try the score and he has got the ball [Applause] inun gim helped on by burn willix there flags up this one will not count last defense might have wanted you last night to pit you in the H in from Anderson oh it’s wide and Jay Stanfield doesn’t usually miss those how early does the ball come in andon doesn’t try anything flashy once that half a yard what a ball that [Applause] is IAT plays it into right not hit with conviction wrapped into him as well I think that was what made it a little bit trickier he has to put Pace on this B on this passing gets his head up sees the channel and it’s just lifting Anderson he’s been a real live wi down that left IDE scored a wonderful goal at hsfi recently at’s going to attack this and the shot oh a goal absolutely incredible from Oki Wat you won’t see a shot hit harder all [Applause] week there were cries in the Binger fans have shoot they hadn’t got to the end of the word before he did and before it took the net off you won’t see it shot hit harder All Season what a hit that is incredible I don’t think you need to say much about I want him on the edge as he’s played all hard and that is it for the first half an incredible 45 minutes plus three ball I am here purely for Burmingham Blues against Newcastle magpies it’s been brilliant so [Applause] far think got Farrell went back and stayed back to try steadying for the shot now it’s Murphy who will shoot and it is straight out the Birmingham keeper Miley shifts the ball out played across Del libero his long stuff it was blocked and now it’s in brilliantly finished by Joe Willer he’s been as cool as you like since coming on not a game that’s easy to be cool in across to Jacob Murphy and he will get it and after a stumble he is through on goal and Murphy’s the round peacock Barrel but he’s denied the goal superb covering trying to knock it on Alie May on the ball now Cochran outside may only looking inside and looking towards goal well he got it on target but he never got any sort of power and Cochran knows that was probably the last chance to do anything it was the final whistle sounds at St Andrews at a sensational night

I have been watching blues for over 70 years and have never seen a worse goalkeeper in a Birmingham shirt. ( not even Jim Herriot)
Chris Davies what were you thinking. He was responsible for two of their goals.
Outplayed a top 6 prem side and only lost due to an incompetent referee and goalkeeper
A wonderful effort from the rest of the team, they were sweating blood by the end of the match.
Never a goal, how the linesman could give it is beyond my ken
Lino must be a Russian lol

We showed the higher stages of football we ent messing about, we’re here to climb the football ladder.. we’ll be in touching distance of the premier league soon enough.
Glad to see Stanno playing more like himself against opposition that actually try to play ball. Stanno’s really going to shine in the Championship. Laird had another brilliant game. Iwata.. just incredible. Think Dowell was great again, Klarer absolutely superb again. Marc Leonard was fantastic until his unfortunate injury, all the lads did us proud, i could list the whole squad giving compliments💙.
Super Chrissy Davies, what a manager!

Iwatas goal is beautiful 😮💨
Superb performance from us. What an atmosphere 👏👏
Had everything! As a whole spectacle, the game in this country misses more of this.
Just have to do the double instead of the trebel. No disgrace to lose that match, everyone on and off the pitch proved we are ready for better things.
To all those Newcastle fans whinging on bbcsport about a supposed thuggery on the pitch. We had one more foul and booking than you and it was our player that got carried off from a foul by your player not given.
Brilliant performance from a Blues team. I have followed Birmingham for over 50 years, and this is only the second time I have got very excited about the team, the last time was the Gold/Sullivan era. It is great to see the players running, chasing, pressing. It is great to have a team with minimal injuries (the curse of our team over the years has been injured star players), and to hold our own against one of the top teams in England.
Iwata's strike was outstanding, as was the opener within a minute.
However, why on earth was our goalie over a foot behind his goal line for their first goal? Never mind the question mark over the ball crossing the line, the goalie should NEVER stand behind his goal line. Sorry to criticise an individual.
But all in all great game to be part and to witness and we are on the march up the leagues come on Blues 🎉
So proud to be a blue 💙
Superb game of football, 2 excellent teams. Blues can consider themselves slightly unlucky. Iwata, goal of the season, you won't see better
Feel like Willock’s response to him missing the rebound shot says it all. He didn’t believe he’d just scored, or that it was even worth trying to con the ref into thinking he had (which would have been understandable). Gutting.
4:23 😂😂😂 🤍💙
4:13 岩田ゴール!
Stevie Wonder linesman
Filthy vile rat of a women giving the finger to the camera at 4.25.
Why leave that in?
Old Newcastle fan here, that was a real old fashioned fa cup tie. I don't think the whole of the ball crossed the line so you count yourselves very unlucky . Like J said, you gave us a real fright. Exciting times ahead for you guys I feel.
If Allsop had been in goal we would never have lost that game.

Dissapointing Blues Haven't given Iwata's Strike any Justice in the Goals of the Season Cat ..KRO
I am from Czech Republic. We watched this game with my 8yrs old son and could not get enough of it. What a game this was. Took me back to good old days when english football was back and forth type of game. Goosebumps
The chav players are as thick as the sty dwellers .looking at their thugish attitude .
