Doug Pederson found out a little nugget about Cody Parkey that lead to the double DOINK

You knew Cody Parky wasn’t hitting that kick, right? I knew he wasn’t hitting that kick. You know what’s interesting about that and I can reveal it now is uh during the week um my special teams coordinator Dave Fipp came to me and and I’ll I’ll always I’ll always remember this and and Cody at the time was hitting 90 90 plus 923% of his field goals. Oh, I thought you were going to say post cuz he had a game like earlier in the year. Well, he did, but but he was he was he was in the low 90s, I think, in in in field goal makes, right, that season. But anytime a coach burned a timeout, it literally cut in half. Oh my god. And he came to me with this with this interesting nugget of information, and I was like, there’s no we’re getting to the end of and and Mitch Trabiscy, yeah, you brought him down the field was looking brilliant. He’s like throwing darts out there on a two-minute drive. Gets him down into field goal range. I’m going, there’s no way. I got one timeout left. This is going to come down to a kick. I’m going to test the theory. And literally, I’m I’m I’m replaying this whole thing in my head. And obviously, you know, it’s history now, but but yeah, bang the timeout because I I burn the timeout just before the snap. Yeah. What What do they do? They snap it, they hold it, and he drilled it. But it was a timeout. Yeah. I was like, “Oh, boy. Oh, no boy.” And it went doink.
