Monday brought the end of the girls golf regular season for local programs, with a number of teams and individual student-athletes punching tickets to next week’s divisional tournaments.

Winning the Central California Athletic League championship for the first time in school history with an undefeated record of 10 was Pitman High. The Pride were able to shoot a combined low-score of 485 at the CCAL Championship from Creekside Golf Course in Modesto.

Over at the Micke Grove Golf Links in Lodi, the Hilmar High program also capped off a 10-0 regular season, with a cumulative first-place score of 360 in the Trans-Valley League end-of-year tournament.

At the CCAL tournament, Gregori’s Angelie Bahadu earned first-place individually by posting a 5-over-par 72, helping the Jaguars earn second place and an auto bid to divisionals.

Briana Cuenca, a sophomore from Turlock High, earned a runner-up finish with a score of 84.

Pitman was paced by junior Clarissa Vallejo with a third-place round of 89, followed closely by sophomore teammate Paige Jajko with her scorecard reading 91.

Cuenca, whose final position on the leaderboard qualified her to the divisional round, will represent the Bulldogs alongside senior teammate Frankie-Marie Ronveaux, who shot a 93 on Monday to come in just behind Jajko.

The entire Pride roster and the two Bulldogs will play in the Sac-Joaquin Section Division II tournament on Monday at the Turkey Creek Golf Course in Lincoln. It will be an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start.

At the TVL tournament in Lodi, the Yellowjackets had a 1-2 finish to help them earn the team title. Pacing the pack was senior Valerie Quaid, who swung a 77 on the par-72 course. Freshman teammate Isabella Northcutt was the runner-up, two strokes behind Quaid.

Hilmar’s Grace Vitorino, a sophomore, finished in fifth place with a round of 93. A stroke off of Vitorino was Hughson’s top individual performer, senior Madden Nobles, and her round of 94.

Nobles and the Huskies posted a collective score of 419, good for third place in the team standings behind Ripon. The finish makes them eligible for the divisional round.

Because the TVL has seven golf teams competing (unlike the CCAL that consists of only five programs), the top three teams and six individuals with the next lowest scores qualify for the divisional tournament.

The Yellowjackets and Huskies will take part in the Division V tournament, which will have an 8 a.m. shotgun start on Tuesday from the Bing Maloney Golf Course in Sacramento.

The top two teams and the individuals with the next six lowest scores in the Division II tournament will qualify for the Sac-Joaquin Section Masters Tournament on Nov. 3. Meanwhile in Division V, just one team and the next six lowest individual scores will move on.
