If your takeaway looks like this, you’re losing out on so much power and consistency. I was just struggling with this and here’s what I did to fix it. Thumbs up. And it’s interesting because I normally make a swing change and then like a couple weeks later, I’m like, “Okay, it’s I’m on to the next one.” This one has lasted three and a half weeks. Like, it is a world record for me. So, on your takeaway, you always want the club head to be outside of your hands. You never want the club head to go inside of your hand. When you let your club head pass your hands in the takeway, you are changing the plane of your swing and you’re going to have to compensate for something on the down swing or a lot of people, they’ll get pretty flat and shallow back here. So on the down swing, they steep in the shaft and that’s when the club goes into you. Early extension, that is the name of the game for me. It’s early extension is actually the worst thing ever. So instead, you’re going to thumbs up. Thumbs go up. So my only swing thought to start the swing is this. Thumbs up. Because watch this. If the thumbs go up and then you turn, you’re at a 90° angle and you have the correct hinge in your swing. Obviously, in your swing, it’s not going to look like this because while you’re going thumbs up, your body’s naturally turning. So, it just makes sure that the club head is in front of your hands. And it’s interesting because I think thumbs up, thumbs up, thumbs up, thumbs up. And it makes me, it forces me to get that 90° angle hinge. When I used to have this high right slice, and I don’t have that crazy miss anymore. That’s perfect. I feel like that went dead straight where I was aimed on the green. Middle of the green.

  1. hey chendo barefoot, thumbs up, add this peripheral vision piece…. from your perspective, that club head looks like it's matching up with my left shoulder as it moves up….. so thumbs up, and kinda see the club moving matching the left shoulder as it goes to the top. …… hand path becomes another focal point
