SEASIDE – Freshman Rafael Bobo-Lloret recorded the field’s second lowest score during Wednesday’s final round of the Saint Mary’s Invitational as the Cal Poly men’s golf program finished eighth in the 16-team event. 

At the par-72, 7,104-yard Bayonet and Black Horse Golf Club, Bobo-Lloret produced five birdies for a five-under 67, leaping 32 spots up the leaderboard to 26th overall with a three-round, two-over 218 (79-72-67). 

Sophomore Nolan Kuszyk was Cal Poly’s top finisher in 18th with a three-round, even-par 216 (72-70-74). 

Junior Jack Jarvis added a pair of birdies to post a one-over 73 and close in 42nd position with a five-over 221 (74-74-73). Junior Louis Pilod, despite four birdies Wednesday, was a shot behind in 48th with a 222 (73-73-76). 

Competing as an independent, junior Leo Metzger enjoyed five birdies during the final round for a one-under 71, climbing 10 positions to 48th with a 222 (77-74-71). Freshman Zihao Wang was even par Wednesday with four birdies and a final 223 (76-75-72).

As a program, the Mustangs were two under Wednesday, but closed the round in the same position they began the day in. Shooting six-over 870 (295-289-286), Cal Poly finished eight shots shy of third-place Santa Clara. 

Cal Poly closes fall play when hosting the 2025 Preserve Golf Club Collegiate at The Preserve in Carmel Valley, Calif. Action begins Monday, Oct. 27 with the opening 36 holes.
