So, Skip Bis is back at it again, and this time he set his sights on Travis Hunter, but Ryan Clark wasn’t having it. Let’s check it out. There was no way that Travis Hunter should have chosen to be baptized on the morning of a 1:00 game in Jacksonville, where he plays obviously for the Jaguars. Not under normal circumstances, but here’s the point. The Jags are using him so little, especially on defense where he is the most gifted all time alltime gifted, that Travis Hunter is is starting to lose interest. He’s starting to check out mentally on the Jags. So, he was actually happy to be baptized on a game day morning. Because football isn’t taking that much concentration or focus or pregame mental preparation. Nope. Not now. Now, I’m certainly not suggesting that getting baptized was was any kind of protest on Travis’s part. It was just a stunning indication, a a stunning indication of of where his head is at or not at right now. It’s not really into football right now. I’ll get to that point in just a minute. His attitude obviously in this case was, “Hey, they’re not using me that much anyway. Why not get baptized?” Did you get baptized this morning? Yes. Why did you do that? It’s a crazy question. Why did I get baptized? Why is why did you choose to go to the church this morning? Uh Sunday. It’s God’s day and I’ve been planning to to get baptized for a minute. You know, I want to change my life over, become a better man. What did it mean to you? It means a lot. You know, becoming a better man, leaving my old flesh, and just becoming a new Travis. So, just this week, a pundit comes out and says that Travis Hunter isn’t focused on football because he participated in a water baptismal on the day of a game. Now, here’s why that’s hypocritical and also ridiculous. Because the same pundit was a heavy supporter of Tim Thbo, who he said was overly criticized because he professed his faith publicly, which is what Travis Hunter is doing and giving his life to Christ. Here’s another reason why it’s ridiculous. What do you think we sit around and do before the game? Do you think everybody’s in their room locked down meditating and then watching highlights of 1985 Bears? No. People go home and see their families. People go have breakfast. People spend time with their loved ones. They see their wives. They pack their whole families sometimes in the car so they can arrive at the game early and get to their seat or their suite. Like you live life sometimes before the game. And not everybody, but some people do that. He didn’t go to the club and drink. He didn’t go out and skip curfew. He wasn’t running around with women on the morning, which is his free time when he’s preparing to play a football game. He’s giving his life to Jesus. He’s confessing the sins and taking him as his Lord and Savior, which if you are walking into a stadium to risk your life and your limbs for a career and a livelihood, you need to be clothed in the blood. And this is a young man who hasn’t done anything to be criticized as a person. He hasn’t wowed out. There’s been no reports of him mistreating people. It’s all been about joy and energy and love for the game. And to say somebody that practices on both sides of the football, meets on both sides of the football, isn’t focused on football is an absolutely asiny statement. Travis Hunter man, keep being you and congratulations. And to anybody who has a problem with that, f them. So, here we go again. Skip Bis saying something wild about a player and the sports world reacting. This time it was Travis Hunter. And Skip had one of his usual hot takes that rubbed a lot of people the wrong way. But finally, someone with a real voice stepped up and said what a lot of us been thinking. Ryan Clark didn’t hold back. He called Skip out directly, not just for what he said about Travis, but for the pattern that’s been going on for years. Because let’s be real, this ain’t new. Skip’s been doing this forever. He’s taken shots at LeBron James for over a decade, constantly nitpicking the man’s every move. He’s criticized legends, stars, young players. It’s like the more talented you are, the more Skip finds something negative to say. It’s one thing to break down someone’s game, but the way Skip talks sometimes, it feels personal. And with Travis Hunter, a young guy just making his name in the sport, it came off like he was trying to tear him down for no reason. Ryan Clark stepping in was important because he’s not just a former player, he’s respected. He knows what these guys go through. When he speaks, it holds weight. And when he calls out someone like Skip, it reminds folks that media personalities aren’t above accountability. These athletes aren’t just content for shows, they’re people. Hopefully more people start speaking up when it goes too
