GREENSBORO, N.C. — Four High Point University women’s golfers competed as individuals at the UNCG Collegiate, which concluded Tuesday afternoon after 54 holes of play, at the Forest Oaks Country Club down the road in Greensboro.

It was the first tournament this season for Ambre Matlega and Aubri Braecklein as Peyton Costabile competed in her second and Anais Arafi played in her fifth.

Matlega led the Panthers with an 18th-place finish in her first appearancet this fall as she started the 36-hole day one with an even-par 72. The sophomore was tied for third on Par 4s (+1) and tied seventh in the field with eight birdies.

In her second tournament competing as an individual, Arafi had her best rounds in round two and three as she shot a pair of 3-over-par 75s. The sophomore finished tied for 29th and was tied for seventh on Par 3 holes (+1) while sinking four birdies.

Costabile placed 35th in her second event in Purple & White this fall. She carded her best round at the end of the 36-hole day as she shot a 1-over-par 74. The Canadian made six birdies.

Making her season debut, Braecklein finished 41st and shot her best round to open the tournament behind a 3-over-par 75. The senior made five birdies.

This tournament concludes the fall slate for these four as the Panthers open the spring season at the Oyster Shuck Match Play on February 9 in Charleston, S.C.
