NEWBURGH, Ind. (WFIE) – In a little bit of sports news, the Korn Ferry Tour Championship is leaving Indiana.

According to United Leasing & Finance and Golf Gives Back, the PGA TOUR unexpectedly announced its decision to relocate the Korn Ferry Tour Championship to a larger market area in Richmond, Virginia, effective with the 2026 tournament schedule.

From 2019 to 2025, the tournament was held at Victoria National Golf Club in Newburgh, and at the French Lick Resort in Orange County.

Executive Chairman for United Leasing & Finance and Board Member for Golf Gives Back Ron Romain released the following statement on the move:

“While we are disappointed that the tournament will be leaving the area, we are immensely proud of the impact we achieved over the past decade and a half. Our success was measured in the substantial support provided to local charities.”

Officials say the event has cumulatively raised over $2.6 million for charitable causes in the region and the tournament has consistently delivered an annual economic impact exceeding $11 million.

Board Chair of Golf Gives Back Jack Pate released the following statement:

“This tournament would not have been possible without the dedication of the community. We extend our sincerest gratitude to the over 400 local volunteers who annually gave their time, as well as the numerous area corporate sponsors and Pro-Am participants whose partnership was instrumental in achieving our charitable mission.”

United Leasing & Finance and Golf Gives Back officials say they remain committed to their mission of community support and will focus on new initiatives to continue their long history of giving back.

The event takes place the first full week of October.
