LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) Vaqueros women’s golf team sit tied for 15thafter the second round of the Diamante Intercollegiate on Monday at Diamante Country Club.
The Vaqueros turned in a second round 307 for a two-round total of 602. UTRGV is tied with East Texas A&M and two shots behind Tennessee Tech for 14th.
Junior Natalia Rodriguez posted a second round 75 as she sits tied for 24th with a two-round total of 146. Sophomore Miriam Barcalova is tied for 44th with a two-round total of 149 after a second round 77.
Sophomore Zoe Hobbs is tied for 76th with a two-round total of 153 after posting a second round 79. Junior Preston Saiz is tied for 84th with a two-round total of 154 after carding a second round 76 and sophomore Kieli Saenz is tied for 102nd with a two-round total of 164 after a second round 83.
Boston College holds the lead after the second round with a two-round total of 561 after a second round 283. Memphis’ Tilly Garfoot holds the individual lead through two rounds with a total of 138 after a second round 67.
The Vaqueros will be back on the course on Tuesday for the final round with the first group teeing off at 8:30 a.m.
