MOSCOW, Idaho – The Idaho Vandal women’s golf team will play in the 29th Rainbow Wahine Invitational at the Ocean Course at Hokuala in Līhu’e, Kaua’I, Monday through Wednesday. The tournament had moved to the island of Kaua’i after spending the past 25 years on O’ahu.
The Vandals return to the Invitational for the first time since 2021 when they finished third. The field is likely the toughest Idaho will face all season with SEC, Big 12, Mountain West and other top programs playing in the tournament. The field also includes a unique opportunity to play against a team from Osaka Gakuin University in Japan.
Zoe Newell continues to lead the Vandals with her consistent play and will start in the No. 1 spot. Laura Caamaño will start at No. 2 for Idaho. Inkjung Charnchanayothin will play at No. 3 while Ella Kozak is the fourth player for Idaho. Kaylin Johnson rounds out the lineup at No. 5.
Idaho is coming off a third place finish at the Sun Mountain Intercollegiate in Missoula.
The course is 6,039 yards and will play at a par 72. The 54 hole tournament will be played over three days. The teams will begin with a shotgun start at 12:30 p.m. Pacific on Monday and 12 p.m. Pacific on Wednesday.
