But believe me, that putter does run a little cold. Thank you. [Music] Just a simple little tap in park in Kung to take it to two under. [Applause] [Music] But the tie had no struggles on Sunday. Second shot to the final hall. It’ll be a fifth cut made on tour this year. Sure. [Music] Couple of yards more. [Music] What began as a pretty wet week has turned into a brilliant canvas on championship Sunday where Yu Hyunju leads a trio of challengers by a single shot. I do recall in slightly drier conditions in years past this 15th provided a fair amount of drama with players being able to reach into get a little bit more run in the fairways and shorten up that second sharp considerably, but not so much the case in 2025 with the soft condition of the golf course. Just trying to lay it up. An unusually warm summertime season in Korea. Thunderstorms. National average recorded temperatures 2° C warmer than it’s ever been. Been a tough couple of months for green keepers at the 524 golf courses up and down South Korea. Dion and Hun up safely on this par five. What does Yu Hun Joe have in for the second? We wait. We’ll go over to Chari Bunchan. It’s coming to the end of the round. A birdie on the card for Bunan. Almost a flashy way to finish, but that one in a closing round of 76 at the moment. It’s just enough for a top 25 finish. Desperately needed like a top 10 this week. Joe getting pretty close to the front edge similar yardage to what G Lee had in the penalty group. Goodness, was that a stone cold top? [Music] I think it was that that might be in the penalty area. Oh, what a time to make a mistake like that if you’re Yu Hun Joe. That’s just blown this tournament wide open. Pressure does strange things to great players. Her boyfriend Saddam Galenjana won the Colon Korea Open in Chun Chun at the end of May. Heart’s got to be racing for EJO after it’s been a bizarre last 15 minutes for the 20 year old. Still the task is simple here. Just with where that hole’s cut, if she tries to be a little too bold in this par putt, she gets it with too much speed. You could easily catch the slope and roll another 10, 15 ft down into that valley. It’s just about pace here. Yourself a chance. Limit the damage to no more than one. downhill all the way to the hole and will be moving a decent amount off the left as well. The putt is the right play here. So players can look to start this T-shot just on the front right third of the green and let that wind push it back towards the target. Even if it stays straight, don’t be a great penalty for that. This is not the time to get greedy. Try and attack this flag or it’s a kind of hu cut up shot. Dion knows that natural draw should mean that she can start this almost right edge and let the wind push it back towards the target and 50 stumble for Joe as Dion lead by one. Came up a lot lower than she expected. Almost looked like she tried to play that with a straight face instead of opening up the club face and using loft. It’s tough times if you’re a young Joe fan. Meanwhile, Sun Eugene into 17. Very nicely played. And she’ll be really ruining those early mistakes. While Dion brilliantly throughout the state herself in the lead with 30 effort at 16 yet three players in the final group with passing butts coming up three flag hunting here. No two ways about it. She’ll do that. Stay there. There’s a little spine that could catch it. That could catch it. No. Okay. Stays on the correct level. Mi Tion still has the 18th hole to play. There’s nothing more she can do. It’s been a fabulous day for Mi to take that bogey free 68. Really showing her class. Final birdies at 1415 and most recently at the par 517 got to Nander Park. Good T shot straight down the fairway in the last opportunity to try and set up championship winning 30. It’s going to come down. It’s going to try. It’s a quality iron shot and she will have that for the title. Solo third is a whole lot better than a share of third up here. Jin with Joe in the green side bunker. 133 left and that’s clumsy. That’s pulled. [Music] [Music] Come on. [Music] What’s the deal? [Music] [Music] Doesn’t have to over complicate this. Not a good break while staying out of the bunker for Yuan Joe. The lies okay. This is not a difficult shot. Played that very nicely. Really good touch. It’s got to be a little deflating for Yuan Joe and Parkia Jin feeling like they’re playing second fiddle. [Music] [Music] We walk, right? Yeah. It would be weird if we I often wonder when in playoffs when they last forever why they don’t park them like all of them. You know what I mean? They keep going and going and they’re losing daylight. Why they don’t have carts to hold up? Not right now. All right. [Music] Uhoh. Wherever you’re watching us from around the world, it’s safe to say it’s been a enthralling afternoon of some golf which has culminated in a sudden death playoff between Australian NG Lee with the pocket rocket stands at the back of the 18 packed to the brim. Lined a couple deep as well. Looks like Dingji has won the tass and will be leading us off on the first extra hole here at Bears’s Best. equation’s the same. Just got to find the fairway. [Applause] Dion responds finding the fairway herself. A good chance to thank everyone from around the world for tuning in Sunday afternoon. Captivating stuff at the Hana Financial Group Championship. Whether you’re watching in Australia, in Europe, state side, or here in Asia, or even on YouTube. I’ve been keeping an eye on the on the comments thread in the live chat on the YouTube stream on SPS Golf’s YouTube page, and it’s been highly entertaining. A lot of support for both players, Miy Lee and Edion. Couple of predictions as well that Dion’s going to get it done with a a birdie here on the first extra hole. Have to see if that comes to fruition. Two very efficient golf swings. Two worldass players, but only one the Hana Financial Group Championship. [Music] They are no strangers to each other. [Music] Just need to stick to that process, to your thoughts, do know how to play this one, especially to this old location. He’s trying to use that slope as he can. Got a bit unlucky with that whole hang up at the fridge in regulation. Dion’s able to beautiful approach. Unable to convert the B. Too tight to call between these two. Again, I’ve said it since I started doing commentary for the KPJ tour some 4 and 1/2 years ago. Italian’s got one of my favorite swings. South Korea just so technically solid. It’s very good control of the dispersion. There’s a reason why she’s won eight times on this domestic circuit. Expect her to stay aggressive here. Favor the left side of the screen. Use the contours. Oh, now it’s Tion’s turn to get that ball hanging up in the left fringe. So, a little advantage for Gile Lee. Not wasting any time. Mi slight downhill line should flatten out the ball fight a little bit. Touch more cut spin on it as well. She’s got 132 m to go. Oh no. Comes up just a little shy. How about that ball kick that could be bunkered [Music] of momentum for the Australian and back towards the South Korean. Clumsy miss there from Lingi. [Music] Good [Music] [Applause] Good news for Minci is that ball’s rolled into a nice flat spot in the bunker. Certainly simpler just by being on the left fringe of the green. Everything just gently sloping down towards the hole. And she could clean line the bunker. She’s working a little uphill so she can be a touch more aggressive with her effort. You know how good she is from the sand. Remember that excellent bunker shot she hold. That was much harder than this on the 12th hole in the opening round. Hardly had any green to work with. We have another little moment of brilliance for us on Friday to play first. The green sight trap in this sudden death playoff. Excellent shot. I think that’s going to be good enough to secure a four. Now the question is for Eion just cozy one down there to then tap in range and go back towards the team. You try and have your hero moment and win it outright. Another look at this excellent technique from Ni Lee. Get the hands nice and low. Club face wide open. Accelerate into the sand. Pops up nice. High and soft. Just has to be careful with this one. Dion [Music] fertilizer play for today’s final round after the rain we had all week long. Just making sure that this ball rolls smoothly through the three and a 3 4 ft of fringe. before it gets off the green. It’s all downhill the Dion. It’s just about pace this one. Don’t need to give yourself a stressy comeback of the path. Just a matter of controlling your breathing and steadying your nerves. Easy, easy. A bad effort to die on. That’s a little knee knocker left. [Music] remember that playoff in 2023 gen about a two-footer the championship about right the second extra hole see it’s dion little tidler try and get in first with the par four has made some great putts this back n just the birdies 14 15 and 17 think about that big swinging par putt. She had to all on the par 316. This one shouldn’t do too much brake wise. Dion. So have to have to start this outside the edge of the cup. Coming up hill. Just play it pace. Take the brake out of the equation. [Music] No problems for Edion. In with a four likelihood getting back into the golf guard and down to the tea. She just gone through her routine. Relatively straightforward putt for par. Take us back to the tea for the second extra hole. Back down 18 will go again. Trade pass on the first playoff hole. Why not hit back for another playoff between Minjili Lee and Edion continues here at Bears’s best. [Music] What’s that? [Music] So second time of asking second playoff hole in Lee and Edion. And once that uh cameraman on the 183 gets out of the way, I’m sure MJI will quickly stick a peg in the ground and get us underway. Have to say I do appreciate the briskness in which Mi approaches her playing in the game of golf. So play really is a a pandemic. This great game that we all love, rounds that take more than 5 hours to complete, never fun for anyone. So, Lingi leads us off on the second extra hole. Tetronomic swing producing pretty similar results. Slightly better angle now finding the right half of the fairway. much flatter lie than the one she had on the first playoff hole. Can Dion respond like she did a couple of moments ago. Okay. [Music] Diana’s turn to find that little hump on the left hand side of the fairway. So I know that she’s going to have a slightly more hanging lie in Miley Lee. So had to say it’s the advantage Lee in this situation. And to Mi’s Cadd’s point, you wonder why you just don’t get cuts out for playoffs, especially when they start to carry on a little bit. So good to see some effort from the organizers in the tournament committee here at the Hana Financial Group Championship to try to speed up play a little bit. Notice in the past, especially events here in South Korea, playoff carries on more than two holes and don’t be surprised if they change the whole location for the third time out. It’s happened in the past experienced it on both occasions at the playoffs against Suna and Eidon. Looks like he’ll definitely tie on first to play the second playoff hold in a row. Make the best of things the first time round. is pulling her approach to the left but getting her relatively simple up and down if anything is simple in the cauldron of pressure that is a sudden death play off and then Lingi Lee not a poor second just a little poor contact to fly two three yds more to give herself a good birdie look both would get up and down to extend the playoff off Derek Bear’s best really think about the contrasting styles in play, particularly speed of play. Dion much more methodical, much slower player than Mi. Pretty much just settles on a number and a club and pulls the trigger. See that flag just fluttering in the green a little up around the green. Looks like it’s coming off the right. Neither helping nor hurting. Just got to be wary of this slightly hanging line for Da on a bit of a down slope with the ball below her feet. Tends to push the ball out a little right. Solid contact is an absolute must here. That would have been a much better line and it should work off the slope. You go. Clever shot from Edion. That’s pretty similar putt to the one she had in regulation to win balls in your court now. Mi 3 and three playoff record the LPJ tour. 2 and 0 on the ladies European tour and 0 for two KLPJ tour. Oh, that is poor. That’s really poor with only a wedge in hand. Why does it look brilliant for the Australians? Dion in the driver’s seat on this second extra hole. E with work to do. Just control that flight so nicely. Edion, she knew she had a little room left with the slope and she used it to perfection there. [Music] This was really an unforced error from Lee. 122 into the hole from a perfectly flat line and she’s missed the green by that 8 yd 10 yds left into some pretty thick rough. It’s going to find some short game touch if she wants to continue action on Championship Sunday. Hello. Thank you. Just the poor line that left and limit the options that Mi has third shot. Had to deal with the steepest portion downhill slope, but it certainly will be working gently downhill towards that old location. I don’t think she’s got the option to try and play this off the back of the start to try and bump this through the fringe. She’s got to throw the club face a little open. Try and carry it onto the green. Have it chase on out. Get nice check on this caught between club face and ball. Take anything inside of 3 ft. [Music] It’s not bad. Not bad at all. Second time on Sunday afternoon on a birdie but it’s an 18th old to become the first player to win multiple financial group championships. How does it look since the triumph year 2023? three. Couple of close calls already this season for Dion. It’s a slightly different putt to the one that she faced on the 72nd hole. You’ll know what this does. instead a little right to the 18th or first go around this to win. She can’t do it. Oh my goodness. The full 360 lip out. Drama continues at Bear’s best. Oh, that looked in all the way and somehow the ball stays above ground. That’s just golf, isn’t it? You can do everything right and that silly little ball somehow finds a way to stay out of the cup. [Music] After all, that ninjap, [Music] a second lease of life in this playoff. It’s a bit of a stressy one to keep things going. Just from here, it’s one of those tricky parts where you’re trying to work out if you need to start it outside left lip or just on the left lip. To say given the circumstances, take the break out of it. Don’t give the hole away. Just play it with pace. This to extend the playoff for Lee. Nope, not going to go. And it’s Hana. Heartbreak for Mi Lee once more who falls on the second extra hole to Edion. [Music] Dion does it again. Absolutely terrific stuff. Back in the winner circle after a epic Sunday showdown with one of the best in the women’s game. It took two holes of extra time, but Edon claims a second Hana Financial Group Championship title. [Music] And it’s relief and elation for the 28-year-old who picks up her ninth KPJ tour victory on the very same green where she won her eighth two years ago. She’s a big game hunter. Huge talent. Has had her issues with injury through the years. always plays a bit of a limited schedule, but she is going to take so much confidence and great pride in this victory. Many congratulations, Edion, your 2025 champion here at the Hana Financial Group Championship. Again, full credit to Ni Lee who gave herself every chance with that amazing birdie birdie finish. Somehow that ball didn’t go. It wouldn’t matter. He’s missed Papa Harper ending the title to die on and lead can’t help but feel a little disappointed. Found a fairway both times in the playoff and then couldn’t hit the green with a short eye and a wedge in hand. Just relief across the face of EJ. Played some sparkling golf and played her part to deliver drama world class golf when it mattered most on championship Sunday. A deserving winner in 2025. [Music] [Applause] Don’t get [Music] [Music] You are a They don’t touch you first. Beautiful. You got it. She’s sorry. Speech. Speech. Speech. [Music] Soch. [Music] Come [Music] there. I’m speech. Need that. Wow. How do you reflect on what an amazing day it was at Bears’s best? We’re going to try our best though. It will start with the overnight leader. Parkia Jr. was looking to go wire towire this week. started off her day brilliantly with a birdie at the opening hole, but had her struggles at the par 4 third, ultimately taking a double bogey. What was a threeshot lead evaporating into the slimmest of margins the 10th we thought the reigning star champion Yuang Jo last year’s rookie of the year was going to assert her dominance on the top of the leaderboard. a birdie there taking her to the top of the pile. And then Mi Lee needed the putter to start heating up and it certainly did that on the 11th with a vital birdie keeping her title hopes alive. Fortunately for Park Jun, it was a bogey that dropped her back alongside Lee at seven under handing the solo lead to Yu Hy Joe. But little did we know there were more twists and turns to come on the back ninj. So very nearly a birdie there on the 14th be the only 360 lip out we saw on championship Sunday. didn’t know at that time of course [Music] the championship you figured it was very much a a four-h horsese race between Dion Mi Hyanju and Park Jun Dion’s timely birdie on the 14th make it a threeway tie for second place just one shot behind Yu Hon Joe who was in cruise control before this shot on 15 a cold top into the penalty area for the championship leader who at up to that point had looked unflapable. Dion however as she has done so many times in her career would pounce backing up a birdie on 14 with a stellar wedot and a nicely hold on 15. A two shot swing with Joe making bogey dion making birdie. All of a sudden she found herself at eight under had a chance to tie was unable to capitalize on. To be fair, Joe did very well to limit the damage to just one. And on the 16th, things would go from bad to worse. The 20-year-old, a poor T-shot, left her in the weeds. go on to back-to- back podies to effectively thwart her chances. Her second victory of the season a shot on 16 as well as Park Jun on 17 in the penultimate group needed something special. She knew she needed at least a birdie coming home. And this one just had enough speed for Mi Lee to grab a share of the lead with Edion. Then this remarkable finish to the Australians round. [Music] A much needed birdie in a pressure pack situation. Lee would post nine underpar as the clubhouse target because moments later on the 71st hole, Dion would respond in another moment of brilliance. [Music] And there were two at nine under par, but Tion still had the 18th to play. [Music] She gave herself a chance to win outright. Her birdie butt from 12 ft just slipping by the right edge for the third time in 5 years headed to a playoff. The Anna Financial Group Championship on the line for the second time in three years. The playoff would involve Minji Lee and Eid. The first playoff, Lee found itself in the bunker, but calmly knocked it out. Pretty much tapping range to secure her four. Dion got a little racy with her birdie putt from the left fringe. Thankfully, both would make their putts. Then another clumsy wet shot from the middle of the fairway. Left lead in an awkward position. A nice little pit shot, but still a little meat left on that bone for P. and a similar putt to the one she had in regulation. And somehow this lipped out. She settled for par. Put the pressure back on Lee [Music] to make this putt to extend the playoff. It wouldn’t drop. Hana heartbreak for Mji Lee again in a playoff for jubilation for Edion who claims victory in 2025. [Music] [Applause] Fore [Applause] speech. [Applause] [Music] Facebook.
