NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Belmont men’s golf team is back in action this Monday and Tuesday at the Nassau Intercollegiate in Glen Cove, New York.
WHAT’S BRUIN
The Bruins finished tied for fifth place at The Scrappy at Cobblestone held earlier this week in Acworth, Georgia. Conner Brown led the Bruins as he tied for eighth place at 221.
Brown continues to lead the team in scoring with a 70.3 average and two top-10 finishes.
Junior Chris Harpum ranks second at 71.1, while freshman Charlie Spiller is third at 71.4.
If the Bruins continue on the scoring pace, they will post one of the lowest season scoring averages. Right now, the team is averaging 285.2, 13 strokes better than last season.
The Nassau Intercollegiate, hosted by LIU, is a two-day, 54-hole event, with 36 holes played on Monday and 18 holes on Tuesday. It will be held at Nassau Country Club, which will play to a par 70 and 6,826 yards. The course hosted the Junior Ryder Cup last month.
The 12-team field includes the likes of host LIU, Army, Navy, Villanova, Rhode Island, Manhattan, and Delaware.
Last season, the Bruins placed fifth in this event with Harpum and Grey Goff earning top-20 finishes.
