Barron Trump is probably the member of the Trump family that people know the least about, so lately he’s been the one that many people are interested in. In many ways, politicians get the same kind of scrutiny in the United States as royalty gets in Britain, so people are interested in knowing more about him, whether they agree with his father’s politics or not. That extends to things like whether he has a close relationship with his father and shares his political views.

A YouTube video from Kai Trump, Donald Trump Jr’s oldest daughter, playing golf with her grandfather, might have provided a clue about the relationship between Donald Trump and his youngest son. In the video, Kai is seen asking Trump about Barron. “How’s Barron doing at NYU?” she asked, to which he replied. “Good, he’s doing good,” adding, “He’s a good boy. He loves you.”

But Trump did more than relay the message from his son; instead, he provided his own imitation of Barron as he added, “He said, ‘Say hello to Kai, dad,’” Trump recounted. “I said, ‘Why don’t you come out and watch [them play golf]?’ He said – She’s so cute.” Possible proof that Trump spends a lot of time with his son? And that, if he’s comfortable joking around like that, it’s probably because they have a pretty good relationship? You don’t just joke around like that about someone if you think they’re going to take it badly.

The video is an hour-long vlog from Kai Trump, who is now focusing on content creation, titled “Playing golf with President Trump (My Grandpa).”

“I had an amazing time filming with my Grandpa to kick off my new series called 1 on 1 with Kai. In the video, everyone gets to see the bond we have, especially on the golf course,” the video’s caption reads. “This is my favorite video I have filmed so far and holds a lot of meaning to me. I hope you enjoy this very special video.”

This all comes amid comments made by Kaya Walker, the former president of NYU College Republicans, who told Vanity Fair that Barron was an “oddity,” who “goes to class” and then “goes home.” Barron attended NYU’s Greenwich Village campus last year, where the Stern School of Business is based. He is currently attending classes at NYU’s Washington, D.C. campus, only a few blocks away from the White House.

Recently, there were reports that the youngest of the Trumps had shut down an entire floor at Trump Tower in New York for a date, but in general, most of the reports about Barron have been about his business endeavors, to the point that there were even suggestions that he could be appointed to the new board of TikTok.

“Barron has been actively working on his own financial interests and has spent time with others who he is involved with in that area,” a source told People about what Barron was up to. People also reported that he “wants to follow in his dad’s footsteps,” and that means a focus on his business ideas. “He is interested in business in general, developing properties, making money and being involved in successful projects,” the source said. “He has his own ideas and understands what people of his age are looking for. He is quite entrepreneurial, bright and not shy about getting his own career in gear.”
