when you were growing up who was the comedians that you kind of looked up to you thought I love their type of humor was um I it’s p yeah I know I I I was too young for that but I saw my old brothers and sisters laughing at it so I was sort of in a young age I suppose and uh yeah in fact when I started um I remember I wanted to be like Benny connley just telling stories and being natural it was brilliant and and I still think that I still want I still um it’s funny because people say uh uh uh I think comedy stand-up comedy particularly sort of British standup is traditionally is your uh you’re a sort of um you’re a Jester down with the people making fun of the the bosses or whatever

too old for Python??? i'm ten years younger and grew up on The Goons and Python!
I'm 10 years younger than Ricky Gervais my parents were 41 and 40 when I was born they both introduced me to proper comedy i remember listening to The Goon Show Monty Python's flying circus , That was the week that was, Dave Allen Hancock's Half Hour Gerald Wiley aka Ronnie Barker and Ronnie Corbett, Morecombe and Wise, Cannon and Ball Charlie Williams, Les Dawson Bob Newhart and many more over the years I have introduced friends I have that are considerably younger than myself to those comedians and they absolutely love it but I always say it doesn't matter how old it is Great Comedy is Great Comedy
Billy was great. Much more a story teller than a comedian
I was exposed to him at a really young age, probably one of the 1st comedians i ever listened to, so maybe im a bit bias but in my opinion Billy Connolley is the GOAT, his tangents that he often went off on, were as funny as his set, being funny just seem so effortless for him, from fighting with the audience to swating away heckler like it was nothing, even just watching him in interviews he was hilarious
Ricky couldn’t lace Billy’s boots
