Shane Lowry has had a year to remember after his Ryder Cup heroics at Bethpage Black in New York and it is set to continue.
The 2019 Open champion sank the crucial putt to retain the coveted trophy for Europe and ensure victory on U.S soil for the first time since 2012.
He showed incredible mettle to claim the requisite half-point and take Europe to a tally of 14, ensuring the title will still be theirs.
Lowry won two of his final three holes against Russell Henley to save Europe from their greatest Ryder Cup embarrassment as the hosts mounted a comeback.
It was undoubtedly the high point in a season which rendered no individual wins, his best result coming when he was pipped by Sepp Straka at the Truist Championship.
Shane Lowry can add to lucrative year thanks to loophole

Lowry finished 20th on the PGA Tour money list for 2025, amassing $7,082,794 (€6.3million) in winnings.
However, he will get an unexpected chance to add to his earnings when he takes to the DP World Tour Championship – despite not qualifying for the event through the points system.
The season-ending Playoffs, which take place in Abu Dhabi and Dubai, are reserved for the top 70 and then top 50 ranked players in the Race To Dubai standings.
Lowry finished 155th having played the majority of his golf Stateside, and was expected to miss out.
However, a loophole states that Team Europe Ryder Cup participants automatically qualify for the event, despite their ranking.
The winner of the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship will pocket in the region of €1.5milllion while the winner in Dubai will bank almost twice that sum.
Tommy Fleetwood, Ludvid Aberg and Strake have also availed of the loophole and will compete for the prize.
