In today’s video, we’ve got a gift from Phoenix Golf. This is a DTOC brand that’s flying around all over Facebook and Instagram, and we’re going to be testing their Pro Golf B. We’ve got a few other gifts to have a look at as well. And joining us is Mr. James Robinson, who loves a new golf ball. I love anything that saves people money. Yeah, I have cut my finger, though. Oh dear. Which hurts. Let’s see if this glove can make you better. What glove? I like Oh, do I get to keep the glove? You get to keep it as well. Yes. What size are we on? Um, well, I asked for a medium and they’ve sent a medium to large, which makes me think they might just be a little bit under size. So, uh, just bear that in mind if you’re ordering gloves. But I did try mine on and it it felt brilliant quality. Did you try medium or ml? ML. And it felt right for size. So, I think you need to go up half a size or a size. Does that feel all right to you? Fits like a glove, Gary. That’s the ML though. Do you want the ML? medium. No, they’re both They’re both ML, I think. No, one one’s medium, one’s not. Or maybe they sent Well, do you want the smaller one then? Or Oh, mate. It’s a gift. Well, I tried the ML on and it were good. But if if you’re happy with your mouth, never look a gift horse in the mouth, Gary. And what do you think for $12.99 for a glove? Yeah, it feels nice. I I struggle with gloves cuz I I’m a Costco guy for gloves. Yeah. I think for like 20 quid for four or something, they’re great, but a lot of people kind of turn their nose up at them. Is that the med? That’s the medium. So yeah, I think I think if you can get a glove, I wouldn’t want to be paying like 30 quid now for a full joy or I couldn’t go into a shop and pay 22 23 quid for a glove, but $12.99 I could pay and that’s what these are. Mate, there you go. Cheers. Thank you. So they’ve introduced two balls to the market, the Phoenix Tour and the Phoenix Pro. We’re playing the Pro Bowl, which is it’s top price point. It’s $34.99. It’s it’s a brave market to go into. Yeah. But let’s give it a fair test. Let’s see what it does. And uh I like the sleeves of them as well. I like that. I like how simplistic they’ve gone with that. It’s like if your swing speeds above 95, if you carry a 7 iron 116 over, driver 240 over, this is the ball for you. Suits players with driver, you know. So are we do we know how many piece they are? I think it’s a four piece ball. So you know, they have really gone into sort of trying to compete with urethane. Yeah, you’re you’re the ball expert. That’s why I’ve got you along. Don’t know. Well, what we’re going to do, we’re going to hit some T- shots with driver, get some numbers, uh see if it can compete on sort of distance off the tea driver, and then we’re going to hit a couple of mid iron shots into par three and a bit of chip in over, you know, over a hazard and let’s get a let’s be honest. Can this could we play this ball? Yeah, be interesting. So, what’s a good number do we think? For me, I think anything 270 carry. Yeah, I think for me a good drive sort of 270 carry. If I weren’t getting sort of 265 on a good strike, then I’d be worried. Lovely ball. Nice high ball flight, isn’t it? 264.5 carry. So, not too bad for the first first hit. Spinning at 27. So, it did look a bit high spin, didn’t it? If I can if I can try and muscle that down a bit with the swing, though. shot. That’s good. Very similar. 26 spin. 260. Can I hit one more? Yeah. Yeah, of course. I mean, I don’t My my perfect numbers are two four spin. So, you’re only a couple for me. Yeah. I like around two and a half. I like 2,000 if I’m really trying to hit a bit of a knuckle ball shot. I think as well most people need more spin. A lot of people think it needs to be a low spin, but this could be. Obviously, we’re testing this ball for us, but for guys at home, if you want to see your ball in the air longer and effectively go further, could be a really good one. I do feel like I’m cutting across those a bit as well. So, that’s me. That’s not the ball. That would have one. That was towy though. So, there I’ve got that towy again. It’s 260 odd. 29 spin that time. But yeah, I don’t I don’t mind it. I think for what I’ve hit, let me hit a three with it as well. I think when you’re buying a ball at this price point, you are buying it based on performance, aren’t you? So, yeah, I think I think going in at 34 quid a dozen is, like you said, quite brave. Yeah, especially when you’ve got like the likes of Seed and Vice and Kirkland, they all make really good performing balls for like cut price. You’re not buying it for value for money. So, it’s got to perform across the board. I think I’d always want it to perform round green, but at that price point, we’ve got to test it off the tea. Let’s see what it does. That a little bit at the bottom of the club face. 258. Ball speed’s still good. 150. So, you know, even though I didn’t hit it, you know, that well, it still come off quick. Let’s see if we can get one a good strike. Munched 273. Yeah. And 157 ball speed. I I don’t get anything over 160. Yeah. Again, spin 27. I know this driver does spin a little bit more than other drivers, so I would say that’s more the ball that’s giving me consistent numbers. We we the premium balls I’ve tested on that good it there. Oh, that must be big. Creamed. That’s an old word, isn’t it? Not said that for a long time. 272. So, very consistent. 158 ball speed. And again. Oh, I’ve just pressed the bloody button on the back. Oh, it’s come back up. Uh 158 ball speed, 26 spin. Not bad. Not bad numbers then. Great launch as well. I was really struggling to show them, Gary. That’s my fault. Sorry. 12 launch. Pretty good. Right, we’re going to have a little bit of a nearest pin. Um it’s a tight one over this bunker. How do you feel like they feel? Do you know what? I’ve not even done yet. They’re not. I mean, not I wouldn’t say they’re soft, but not everybody wants a soft golf ball, do they? Yeah. Can we Are we trying to generate a bit of spin here, do you think? Yeah. It’s going to need to be uh nipped. It’s a good shot. It’s not how I saw it going. It almost feels a bit hollow, you know, down at impact. Yeah, that was a better strike. So a better strike does spin immediately more to be fair. But even with so with something like this, depending what material it is, I don’t think it’s going to be urethane. I think it might be more like sirine or ionim or something like that. But that will help the ball launch higher up in the air, which means you don’t really need as much spin because the landing angle helps it. If it is urethane, then it’s going to launch lower and it just needs to spin. But um I mean, two two good shots so far. Good luck with the nearest to. Let’s see if we can just get [Music] spin on that one. Oh yeah, did have a bit. I think if it was a budget ball, I’d be waxing lyrical about it saying what a fantastic ball so far. I think for the price, it’s a good ball for the price. I don’t think it’s a bad ball. I think they’ve got a lot of competition in that bracket, which could be an issue for them. I don’t know what you think so far. I think yeah it’s uh it is a tough p price price point to go in at but I think that may be where you know as they start to sell more balls they can bring that price point down. Yeah. Um but yeah I think until I’ve really done this test cuz if I was spending this kind of money on a ball I’d want it to perform in this area uh for definite. Couldn’t sacrifice that to be fair. I’d say it’s ticked the box off the tea for me. There’s nothing there that put me off the ball whatsoever. Yeah. I actually like the look of it. I like how pearly white it is. Yeah, it’s a nice looking ball. Put a closeup on screen now. But um yeah, this is going to be the true test. That almost spun too much, didn’t it? Yeah. I mean, it reacts, doesn’t it? It does react. Um, in fact, do that a little bit of a it doesn’t sound hard, but it doesn’t sound bella soft, does it? It’s like more it’s You’re showing your age there. It’s I would say it’s like almost a bit of a prox though. It is a bit It’s not Yeah, I think it’s firm, but I’m not saying that’s a negative thing. I just think it is it’s a firmer ball. You play with Kirkland though, remember, which are very soft. They are very soft. I’m a bit hesitant because I’m just nervous. Chipper, come on. Be positive. Oh, that’s such a bad strike. Right. Couldn’t really get much on that one, but let’s see if we’re going to finish with a good shot. Bit more positive. Nice. That one nipped for me. I’d want it to have control and stop and and it does it. Yeah. So, again, it’s got a bit of a thumbs up from me on that one. I think if we just hit some shots into a par three, full shots, let’s see how it reacts on the green and then we’ll come to some conclusion. 106. 106. So, we’re not going to play a par three. We’re going to actually hit some 100 yard shots because we can test the durability of the ball and also you know what it what it stops like on the green cuz you don’t want it zipping back 12 ft here. You just want it to kind of bounce. Most people if you offered people zip back 12 ft they’d take it 100%. They’d be selling like hot cakes. Yeah. Nearest pin then I’d say it’s 1-1. I won on drive. You won on chip in. Let’s make this the final. Not bad. That sack quick, didn’t it? Bit of zippage. I mean, there’s a big strong wind off that right hand side, so it is going to bounce left. So, it’s a full gap wedge with that wind. I think that’s the one. See, that should spin in now as well. That’s the money. I think there it’s just done what I would want it to do. You know, like it’s like you said, it hasn’t spun all the way back, but it’s stopped nice and dead. And and that’s really what you want from a ball, isn’t it? You want just consistent landing? Can that one come in now as well? Yeah, I’ll get those divots. But yeah, I’m quite happy with that really. I think the hard thing to get his head round and even us, you know, in industry is that a new ball launched on market at $34.99 and even when it performs well, you still question the price. Yeah. If it said tart list or tailor made on it, you you’d not think anything of price. But it’s just cuz it’s a brand that we don’t or we’ve not heard of. But so far, you know, I could recommend it. What I’ve just seen there is it the club. That wind just picked up a bit then. Yeah, that wind. The one thing I would wonder is is that wind really hurting it like up in the air. What? Well, I mean, what do you mean like knocking distance off or I’m going to have to all over this 50? I think. Oh, that was solid. That could be the money. Come down. Come down. Great shot. Is it long? I think that’s long. I think you’re still winning. [Music] spin. That needs to spin cuz wind’s dropped. Do you know what? I I’ve really enjoyed testing that ball. I’m not going to lie. I’ll just get me divots. Well, it looks like James has definitely done me. He’s actually two fantastic shots, but I think stopping power on green on them sort of full 100 yard shots were fantastic. I’m just gonna have a look at the ones I struck really well to see if there’s any marks on them. There’s a little bit of a mark on that shell. It’s certainly not enough to sort of put me off playing the ball. But um yeah, I think what I would say is I mean they’ve sent me some little TE’s as well just to add which we will mention because I think that’s a great idea having these marks on you know like for Yeah. Just sort of get your preferred tea out make it nice and easy. They were $8.99 a pack I think. I think in conclusion, it’s a fantastic performing ball. It’s performed across, you know, all the tests we’ve done and I’d love to see him doing some loyalty packs, you know, to get it out, get people using this ball because I think for everybody, and I’m included, I know James probably included as well. At 34.99, it’s just hard. It’s building trust because the guys like Titus, Taylor, Callaway have that trust of 50 years worth of balls, 75 years worth of balls, don’t they? So, things take time. So, if there’s any feedback on Kids of Phoenix is you’ve got a great performing ball, but somehow if there’s a way to get it out onto the market and get people playing it, and I think you’ll get loyal customers, Black Friday deals, I think you’ll grow from there. Yeah. So, thanks Phoenix for sending them products. Uh, it’s nice to have tested them. I could definitely recommend them. Cheers, guys. And thanks, James. Well played.

I believe the make up of the ball was printed on the box showing a 5 piece construction.
Nice test, personally I think the Wilson staff models at £86 for 3 dozen is the best ball deal currently. I haven't tried the new Kirkland's though 👍🏻
Warning: cliche alert
why do they always give balls to pros .why do they not give them to people who they want to buy them ? let everyday golfers try them and see if they like them.
I'm still loving the Vice Golf Pro Plus golf balls
Good review gaz 😁 piloting a new ball for a new kid on the block "phoenix" is cool 😎 looks like the pro ball as plenty of spin for the greens, but £34 is a lot to pay for a pack of unknowns 😮 did James cut his finger when cutting open& dissecting that fake temu ping by any chance 😀
James they are DUAL CORE AND SUPERIOR URETHANE COVER
It's monstered not munched or creamed. Get it right Gaz 😂
Did anyone else think the tree to the left of the green was a Halloween decoration? 🤣
Creamed 🤣
Yes James black socks you must admit alot better 😅😅 hope your well and gol improving
Loved that ball review with James Gaz and it performed well
Sorry Gary, I'll be sticking to the wilson smart core for the time being. 24 notes for 30 golf balls from affordable golf.
MG Golf out of Texas has 3 full cabretta gloves selling for under $10. One med. thin thickness. One with black lycra knuckle venting, and the thinner, high priced one for about $9. They also sell a non-conforming distance ball for seniors that actually works rather well.
You forgot to test it out of bunkers for durability. Thats what makes a comprehensive test. One of the Kirkands was great tee to green, but bunkers and paths, destroyed the finish very quickly, My golf Spy ball test 2025, the new Kirkland 3.5 is out and they said it's the best ever, they recommended because no one touches them on price. At £34.99 it will be Urethene is it a 4 or 5 piece ball. On the video you said 4 piece when James asked, but on the thumbnail, you quote 5 piece. Still a good review, learn from each one Gaz.
I'm holding off until someone comes out with a 10 piece ball😂
Poor start to the video when James is looking at a picture of how the ball is made up and then proceeds to ask how many pieces and what cover is it? 😂
Good test, but at that price? TM Tour Response is probably better…and cheaper (less than £30 per dozen, urethane cover, blah, blah…)
