All the tee between Costco’s Kirklamd Signature golf balls and Titleist Pro V1

How all the drama between Titus and Costco started while cutting open the balls involved. Now back in 2016, Costco’s brand Kirkland Signature decided to put out its own golf ball and they came out with a fourpiece golf ball. And part of the Kirkland Signature motto is that they’re going to have a product that exceeds or is just as good as everything else on the market. And since naturally golf is an expensive sport, these cheaper golf balls that were performing just as well, everyone immediately flocked to it and they grew a huge following basically overnight. Now, that original golf ball is this four layer ball above. And Titus did their own testing on these balls to see why people were flocking to them and found that they weren’t as performing as well as the Titus Prov1 at the time, which is this golf ball here. So, to kill all of the Kirkland hype, they decided to put out a series of ads that said that they stole Titleist patents and that Kirkland golf balls were actually worse. And here’s why. So, Costco ended up being the first people to sue Titus, saying that they were going against advertising laws and that they hadn’t infringed on patents and were suing them for defamation. So, Title has hit them back with almost a 300page lawsuit explaining exactly what they stole from them. From the hardness of the core to the amount of layerings to the dimple pattern, just saying that Kirkland was the ripoff and was not as good. After getting hit with that counter suit, Kirkland ended up settling outside of court with them, and they ended up pulling their golf balls off the shelves for a little bit. But the issue was Kirkland had a huge coltlike following, so they needed to come back with something stronger and better. So, almost a whole year goes by and then Kirkland comes out with these three layer and four layer golf balls. And after multiple tests and quite a few rounds of development, they ended up dropping the four- layer golf balls cuz they just weren’t performing to that Kirkland standard of as good or better. But the three layers were. So they came out with this new ball which is the three layer 4.0. And that is all the drama between Kirkland and Titus.
