LARCHWOOD, Iowa – Winona State men’s golf earned an impressive first place finish in the Sioux Falls Invitational.
The Warriors, who finished first out of the 13 NSIC teams who competed, were led by Tyler Gandrud and finished with a two-round team score of 583 (+7). Minnesota Crookston finished in second place after shooting a team score of 600 (+24).
Gandrud shot rounds of 71, and 75 to finish third overall in a 72-golfer field at two-over par. Gandrud was top five in scoring in par 4s and was top ten in total birdies with seven.
Javier Ramos Casariego and Max Jericho were next for the Warriors, with both Casariego and Jericho turning in a two-round total of 147 (+3). Jericho punched rounds of 69 (-3) and 78 (+6) while Casariego carded rounds of 70 (-2) and 77 (+5).
Peyton Coahran shot rounds of 75 (+3) and 73 (+1) to finish with a invitational total of 148. Luke Maas rounded out the Warrior lineup with a 72 (E) and 76 (+4) to also tally a 148. Logan Chouinard also competed as an independent and finished with a outstanding score card of 144 (E) and finished the invitational in second place individually.
Winona State is next in action on Monday, October 20th as they compete at the MSSU invitational.
