Cal Wins Stroke Play At St. Andrews

Bears Will Face Princeton In Match Play Championship Round

ST. ANDREWS, Scotland – The California men’s golf team carded a 7-under par Tuesday and pulled away to win the stroke play portion of the St. Andrews Links Collegiate in Scotland.

After shooting even-par as a team Monday, the Golden Bears finished at 7-under and beat runner-up Princeton by three strokes.

Cal and Princeton advanced to Wednesday’s match play championship round, which will take place at the famed Old Course at St. Andrews.

Junior Charlie Bundy shot a 4-under 66 on Tuesday and ended up in a tie for second place individually at 4-under for the tournament. Senior Daniel Heo placed fourth at 3-under par and freshman Xihuan Chang was tied for seventh at 1-under par.

Match play begins at 2:55 a.m. PT/10:55 a.m. BT on Wednesday.
