I am at the goal line of my new simulator build and have spent more time than necessary trying to understand the pc build I actually need to run gspro effectively at 1080p.

I have my projector already, Optoma Gt2000hdr so my goal is simply to max out its 1080p capabilities. It has looked great for football and bluey already so I don’t see the need to advance past that for now.

I’ve read many posts and most are around 4k potential with answers calling out “I run xxxx gpu with success” for 1080p or 4k at this or that graphic setting and most of these posts are old.

I have been trying to stay within a budget and want to spend up to $250-300 on a graphics card for my pc build, which leaves plenty of used options for a 3060ti/3070/3060/6700xt/B580. From what I read these should run 1080p at high/ultra settings but which one should I go with. Or would something like a 1660S/1070/1070ti/6600/B570 work just as well? Those I can find under $200 used and I’m always happy to save some dollars.

I really wish there were some benchmarks for gspro in the different resolutions, because all the website gives is “use this gpu”. Nothing around the minimum frame rate needed for smooth play, nothing around how necessary vram. Should I focus more on a 10-12gb vram card that doesn’t process frame rate as well as a 8gb vram card?

It just seems like a crapshoot if I don’t follow their suggestions.

Added some photos for you all too, remaining tasks are put up padded surround around the screen, cut in the strip for my one lefty friend and get these pc parts ordered!

Framerate leans more on the CPU, And resolution/graphic settings are usually attributed to the GPU.

Of all those options I’d go for the 6700xt. If you run out of vram on your gpu that’s when things will start stuttering. I’ve herd that a 1070 will not run a couple of the courses on GSPRO, and I’m pretty sure it only has 8 gigs of vram. That will give you a little overhead for even the most demanding courses.

Nvidia offers a few features you’re not going to need or notice with gspro. (green screen support for streaming, and ray tracing). You’re better off going for the extra performance/vram from amd IMO.

Running the more powerful card also gives you room for things like cameras, and extra monitors for swing recordings, a second cheap projector for floor projection. Buy once cry once.

A 12gb 3060 will be great for 1080p and you should be able to pick one up second hand around $200.

See if u can find a 7800xt or a 7700xt used on sites like Jawa.gg as these would be ur best option especially if u ever want to go up to 4k and should be easily findable for around $300

I picked up a MSI bravo on eBay for $250 that had boot issues. Put a fresh copy of win 11 on it and it’s been great. Runs gspro on ultra. Not sure why some people feel the need to buy crazy gaming computers.
You can even get a gaming tower on Newegg for around $500 if that’s the route you wanted to go.
