Kai Trump has revealed how her grandfather Donald attempted to bend the rules during a golf round they played together.

Despite their significant age difference, Kai shares her grandfather’s love for the sport – as she has showcased on her YouTube channel.

Her public profile is soaring after giving her first speech at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee, and she also grabbed headlines with her behind-the-scenes appearance at the inauguration earlier this year.

With an expanding base of social media followers, thanks to her golf content, Kai is reportedly considering a professional golfing career. But recently, the teenager was accused of ‘stealing’ from NFL star Travis Kelce in a major scandal.

Reflecting on the viral Break 50 Challenge video featuring her grandfather alongside golf star Bryson DeChambeau, which has racked up nearly ten million YouTube views, she said: “I watched half of it (the DeChambeau video) because I was working out.

“It was awesome. It was crazy. Genuinely, he always gives me a run for my money. It’s pretty close,” she admitted, recognizing that her grandfather typically emerges victorious.

“It’s never really like game over and I’ve won on the 15th hole. He wins a lot of the time. I do have to say that. I’ve got to get better.”

Kai recounted an amusing story from their time on the golf course, describing how the former president tried to throw her off her game during a critical moment. “One time I was not on his team and I had to make this eight-foot birdie putt to win and he’s trying to get in my head like standing right over me, standing next to me.”

However, his tactics failed as she successfully sank the putt and celebrated with an enthusiastic fist pump, which brought a smile to his face despite losing. “I sunk it and l looked up and go like this (fist pumping) and he started smiling. That was the best moment. When I made that putt, even though he lost, he was so happy and smiling and laughing. That was a pretty special moment, too.”

DON’T MISS:

Additionally, Kai remembered an emotional encounter with her grandfather after a frightening event, explaining, “I was going to say the RNC was pretty special for both of us because it was right after he got shot and I hadn’t seen him since then.”

The significance of their meeting during such turbulent times moved them both to tears. “It was like the world stopped. It was that type of feeling.”

She continued: “I was out with my friends actually. That was really special. We both got a bit teary-eyed. I’ll never forget that. It was nice to see him again and it was a really special moment. But on the golf course, there’s a lot. I play with him so often.”
