Dad dropped a few $100k on lessons, equipment, and time. He’s not having that shit.

I’m hoping the reaction is fake. Otherwise that’s some toxic ass bullshit. She should 100% become a golf influencer to piss them off.
P.S you should provide credit to the creator of the video by the way. Don’t be that person.

That’s some entitled ass parents right there, she was probably forced into playing golf and now the parents feel like she owes them for their time and effort. Really sad reaction from the parents.

I mean… why? Like #1 at what level? As my cousin grew up with a wider college ranking acceptance, but still said no, cause it was more expensive than getting and advanced degree to have a 1% shot at getting a few starts…

Oh no the poor woman.

“OH, this is really sad”. “this is a super toxic relationship”. “They’re looking for a kickback”. Jesus. Reddit never ceases to amaze me. This woman pursued her dream in golf and rised through the ranks. She sacrificed so much…AND…her family likely supported her. But yall are so fucking jaded that you think that they are upset that THEY are not going to be able mooch off of her success. Why can it not be viewed as they are upset with her OBVIOUSLY abrupt decision to give up on her dreams with a sentence that is obviously contradictory to her actions that they have likely viewed very, very recently. Would you not be upset if someone you cared deeply about just up and quit on something that they spent so much time and effort on? That you supported…day in and day out. Jesus christ. Fuck off. Yall probably need to take inventory on your family relationships.

The comments in here about toxic parents are literally from people who have never achieved anything in their lives lol.
Ppl who have never achieved anything tend to not understand how much it takes to become great let alone the greatest in the world.
Makes sense though. Yall are where you are, and she is the number one golfer in the world.
But yeah her parents are def at fault, and some basement dwelling redditors obviously know better.

Lot of certified pussies in this comment section. This is actually good parenting. Just one of the many reasons why many in the Asian community are very high achievers in life. They traditionally have 2 present parents that care and push their children to be their very best.

That Gaby YouTuber filming it is a bit of a wanker. Supposedly her dad bullies is way to get her onto events and stuff, then she plays badly and super slowly.

Top notch r/JustGalsBeingChicks stuff here. I love this energy.
As a Thai who has actually talked to Jeeno’s dad, the reason I’m not quite convinced this is not staged is the fact that they speak English. Jeeno’s dad is not a helicopter dad, but he is passionate enough that I could see him having this reaction in Thai.

I went to a new course recently because I had heard they had an awesome short game practice area. It turns out that this practice green is where all the crazy parents take their jr golfers to practice. I spent about an hour on the chipping green and I saw 3 different parents treat their kids like absolute shit. It was really quite sad. One parent kept repeating the same thing over and over again in a different language, getting angrier and louder each time; the poor child just said nothing and kept swinging. Another parent would watch his kid chip once and angerly chase the ball down the green every swing then explain what she was doing wrong (he just kept telling her to rotate). The last parent was the most sad because he kept accusing his kid of not enjoying golf when he told him he didn’t want to practice bunker shots.
It was all really crazy because none of these parents were trying to hide it at all. Just full volume berating and clearly unhappy children. Not accusing this persons parents of being like this but I couldn’t help but think about it.
