LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – After a fall slate that took them across the country competing against some of the nation’s top teams on challenging courses, the Trojans return home to close out the season at the Everett Buick GMC Classic.
Play begins Monday at 7:15 a.m. at the Founders Course at Chenal Country Club, with the final round scheduled for Tuesday from 8:15 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Admission is free, and a limited number of spectator carts will be available.
“We are looking forward to a great few days at Chenal and defending our title from a year ago,” said head coach Austin Eoff. “We’ll be playing from sunup to sundown on Monday and wrapping up Tuesday afternoon. We’d love for anyone and everyone to come out and watch.”
The Trojans have had several standout performances throughout the fall. Newcomer Mark Stockdale earned Co-OVC Golfer of the Week honors last month after finishing third at the Bearcat Invitational in Cincinnati. Sophomore Ed Featherstone has been a model of consistency, placing in the top 20 in all but one event this season. He most recently finished 12th at the Fighting Irish Invitational at Notre Dame’s Warren Golf Club, a tournament featuring some of the top collegiate players in the country. His best finish came at the Bearcat Invitational, where he placed sixth.
Stockdale — who won the Everett Buick GMC Classic two years ago as a freshman at Central Arkansas — and Featherstone will both be among those contending for the individual title this week.
